So the past few months have been a bit of a hectic mess! We had to start packing up our whole apartment about a month before move-out, shipping about seven boxes overseas just for the overflow from our suitcases! During the lead-up to moving out, however, Kevin was tasked with designing place cards for our reception tables. We’ve named each table after a Keyblade, and we put a silhouette of each Keyblade over a background (either sapphire blue or gold) and embellished it with various splatter and crack patterns of the opposite color. Our table’s Keyblade got to stay full-color, though (since we’re the center of attention
)
Kevin also designed matching escort cards for the guests sitting at each table. The cards still have the Keyblade silhouette, but they’re laid over a black background with a gray pattern that’s used on a lot of recent Kingdom Hearts memorabilia. Once we get all our RSVPs we can get around to attaching names to the cards.
And our last artistic project together was our ceremony program. We’re making heart-shaped fans with the order of events in blue Kingdom Hearts font. It took us forever to figure out how to change the color of the pattern we used on the escort cards to gold, but we eventually ended up with what you see here!
Since we’re finally 30 days out, we’ve been making our big payments, which has been THE MOST STRESSFUL THING OH MY GAWRSH. Thankfully, we’ve been using and abusing our Disney Rewards Visa card, so as of July, we have over $600 in Disney Rewards money for our honeymoon!
Since we’ve sent out our invitations, we’ve been getting RSVPs pretty steadily! It was expected, but we’ve had about 20 people say they can’t make it. So boo, rejection (but also at the same time yay for less money for food and beverage costs~). Kevin’s mom got a bit spooked at the cost of the dessert party/rehearsal dinner, but we ended up with a smaller number of people coming to that, so it’ll be a more intimate affair.
And speaking of getting spooked… I had a big scare during our trip to Tokyo before coming home to America. There were a lot of difficulties with the travel to our temporary place in Tokyo and my new supervisor was very inexperience and made some mistakes with things like bus tickets and my visa and just ugh.
But the worst thing was that I lost my engagement ring, most likely on the bus. So for the time being, I got a temporary replacement ring from a jewelry store in Japan I’ve been following for a long time but never found a reason to justify the cost. It’s very pretty and I love it but I’m still upset.
I’m going to pause here and try to write another post tomorrow about some other updates along with trying to fix this photobucket stuff. I go away for a bit and all my pictures get locked up!
