just returned after 8 days at WDW. Had a great time all in all but a little disappointed. Disney is very magical for us and two kids ( 9&10). It always will be, but we decided to go to MVMCP and were let down. The snow is great and so are the parades and fireworks. The cocoa is..... cocoa. The line for the pic's was crazy. The place was way over ticketed. Lines all over the place. We had tickets for two nites and only went once. Simply too much hype and really not much else.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the MVMCP, JerKer. :(

I have to second that. We went 12/8/00 and had exactly the same opinion on all points.

The first and only time my family and I went to the MVMCP was in December 92, and I swore I would never go again. I basically had the same experience, huge crowds, huge lines, etc. I was actually afraid to leave the park right after the parade for fear of being trampled. Recently, I've read some very good reviews of the MVMCP, and was actually contemplating trying it again, but now, after reading your post, I'm afraid of the same experience. It is alot of money to waste if the night doesn't live up to your expectations. I think I'll just stick with E-nights. Is the Halloween party as crowded and chaotic

We attended MVMCP on 12/7 and I thought the same thing. It was VERY crowded. My expectations were that it was going to be a more "intimate" event. We were disappointed a bit. I'm glad to have had the experience, but we wouldn't do it again.

We also (13 of us) were at MVMCP on Dec. 4th for the first time too and we will NEVER go again. We waited in line for our family photo for ages, never saw any hot chocolate or cookies and it was way overcrowded (and we froze out rears off) it was so cold we could see our breath that night. I think Disney is trying to way oversell this special event to make a lot more money. I was really expecting a quiet evening with a minimum of people BUT this was too much and I felt that we were taken for the ticket prices!Sorry to be so blunt but it really upset my family and myself. :(

I am in total agreement. We went last year. I tried to get the exact numbers of this "limited" ticketed event. It seemed to be as busy as a holiday weekend. No one I asked would tell me how many tickets were sold to be sold out. I imagine about 30,000 or more....

These parties are very profitable for Disney, especially if people keep coming to them packed in like sardines or not. I for one will save the $90 it would cost our family and have a nice dinner. Besides, there are plenty of other Christmasy things to do that are free or included in your park admission.....

I read on the Trip Planning Board that about twice as many tickets were sold this year. I was also very disappointed with the crowds. For
the amount of money they charge, I expected a more intimate atmosphere instead of a zoo.
I think E-nights are much more fun,you end up riding the same rides anyway, the park feels empty, get great pictures of the castle with no people around and it is only $10.00!!

I'm so sad to hear this. I've read report after report about people saying the MVMCP was way too crowded to be enjoyable. It sounds like such a wonderful thing, but I know I wouldn't enjoy it either if it was so crowded. I hope Disney rethinks it's decision to sell so many tickets.

I just got back Sunday, and we went to MVMCP on 12/14. It was way more crowded than I expected. My mother wasn't feeling well, so we had to aim for the 9:00 parade, which meant nabbing a spot as soon as we got through the gates. By the time the parade and fireworks were over, the place was packed with people. I only rode one ride, and didn't see any shows. This was my fifth trip to the world, and I have never seen MK as crowded as it was that night (until the following Saturday, of course!) I remember thinking at the time that there were way more than 20,000 people there, and now I understand that Disney may have sold as many as 40,000 tickets for each party. I don't think I would spend the money for the party again, if I was going to be at the parks the same time that the Christmas parade was running during the day, which did happen Saturday.

On an upbeat note, the Candlelight Processional was worth every bit of money for the dinner package. It was simply extraordinary, and is definitely something I would return to see.
