June use year question...

Last edited:
An August 2017 vacation would fall in your June 2017 UY. If you have any June 2016 points left and won't use them before June 1, 2017, you need to bank them now before the end of January. Once banked, they will be good for any trip scheduled from June 1, 2017 through the end of May 2018.

You would only be borrowing if you needed points from your June 2018 UY to make that August 2017 vacation. But make your reservation now for your home resort if that is where you plan to stay. Or in February 2017 for an August 2017 stay at a non-home resort.

Rule to remember: in determining which use year points you are using as "current" use year points and whether you need to bank or borrow, wipe from your mind the day you go online to make the reservation and look only to the dates you will be at WDW. Thus no matter when you make the reservation, for an August 2017 trip, your June 2017 points will be your "current" use year points, if you have June 2016 points you would need to bank those before you try to reserve, and if you need them, you can borrow points from your June 2018 use year when making the reservation.

OP, I have a June UY.
Get together a spreadsheet that you understand include:
DVC member number.
logon information to DVC online account.
when the points are good for.
planning section for future trips at least 3 years out.
an area for keeping track of vacations taken including any special things you did that trip.
