Jennifer Garner At DL yesterday!

I wonder if there is some combination of personal bodyguards and CM security officers who handle a visit like this. It must involve a certain level of annoyance with people asking for a selfie, or an autograph, or an autograph AND a selfie, etc. But that's what fame is, I guess.

There are a special group of CM's that handle celebrity guests.

They don't get any special security. They get a "plaid" (a Guest Relations Cast Member) to accompany them and give them VIP attraction access.

A LOT of celebrities go to Disneyland. No one bothers them. Generally, the guests at DLR understand to leave them alone, as is the custom in LA. No one bothers them.

One of our VIP Tour Guides told us that top tier celebrities sometimes don't want to be walking through the park and they just want to experience the rides. They said sometimes when a ride is down, it may not actually be down as it could be an A-lister for whom they will allow a private ride on the attraction. Others will want a buffer of no guests in surrounding cars, while others say no problem in walking out on Main Street and letting other park visitors say hello. They said the challenge comes (for the Plaids) when non A listers (who believe they're A listers) want A list treatment (i.e. closing down of an attraction).

I remember a CM telling me how Johnny Depp used to bring his son in totally incognito. No one would bother him at all. Course that’s been many years ago. Said he’d just have a beanie and shades on, never used a plaid.

I saw a guy from Twilight once just sitting on bench outside Buzz. No, not Rob :rotfl2:

And way, waaaayyyyy back I saw Queen walking around. Brian May was hard to miss…lol

The only time I've seen a celebrity at DL when it wasn't an organized event (e.g., The Rock doing promotion for JC; Dick Van Dyke on his 90th birthday) was Gwen Stefani. We passed each other on Tom Sawyer Island and I didn't even realize it. She was wearing a hat and sunglasses and was escorted by at least two plaids. It wasn't until I overheard a nearby guy say to his GF "Go ask her for a picture" that I realized what was afoot. That's when I looked more closely and realized who it was. Later she took off her hat and sunglasses and I was able to snap a decent pic.

I'm not on Twilight anymore. I'm developing my own series at the moment. Stay tuned ;-).

Incidentally, several times in the past people have mistaken me for actor Mark Feuerstein. The first time someone told me that I looked like him, I Googled his pic and this was the first one that came up.

In profile, we bear a strong resemblance (if I do say so myself ;-)). A few days later I showed the pic to a friend and she exclaimed "Whoa! You know Mel Gibson?!"

It used to be the norm for us to see at least one celebrity when we visited. (Gary Sinese, Mandy Moore, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Sheryl Crow, John Stamos, Cindy Crawford, John Hamm come to mind.) Many American Idol and other reality show stars. Now that I’m older, I think I am sufficiently out of touch with pop culture to not recognize people :) Last year we did see Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemmons though!

At this point, so many people are hiring VIP guides that I don't even look twice when I see a plaid. It used to ONLY be celebrities.

One time, a few years ago, John Stamos sat down on the wall next to the carousel right next to where I was standing. He had his son with him (who was maybe 1?). I didn't even see the plaid until a couple minutes later. He was standing inconspicuously next to the exit of the Peter Pan ride.

Not at Disneyland but at Disney World, we were held back from getting into the next “car” on Peter Pan by a plaid and an entourage of people and I said to my daughter, “That’s Eddie Vedder!” He heard me and flashed the best smile at me.

My college obsession with Pearl Jam totally paid off. :rotfl2:
Love this. My brother is a huge PJ fan. Someone I know works on the Billie Eilish tour and got to meet Eddie when they did a show near Seattle in 2019.

All my visits and I’ve never noticed anyone famous 😂😂😂

lol we go most Sundays. Still never noticed one. But I’m not looking so maybe that’s it.
Same! I can't even add the number of days we've went to Disneyland over the years, but I have never once seen anyone famous or recognizable in the parks. No celebrities, no Youtubers, nothing. I think I'm too focused on my own family/sites of Disneyland that I don't pay attention to other people lol

We've seen ourselves on livestreams though. It's fun to go back and watch livestreams from when we were there and catch ourselves in the background totally oblivious. It's only happened a handful of times, but always amusing.
