OK so these are the savanna view rooms that are also being worked on right now. Zebra trail, facing Uzima savanna, across the hall from the pool view rooms. I circled it in red on the map. It’s 8:30am now and nothing is happening, but we noticed it late morning yesterday. There has been no noise impact and animals have been out there as usual. The only jarring thing IMO were the workers supervising from a nearby balcony. I felt like we’d have no privacy if we wanted to hang outside on our balcony midday. We have had other plans anyway so no big deal.

We are only here til Sunday morning when we move to the Poly so we’ll make do. This wasn’t going on when we first checked in, and we specifically wanted to be in this area of the resort for the convenience after they’d wanted to assign us to what I assume was a renovated room in Kudu (and thus out of the way of any renos), so it is what it is. But hope this update is useful!

Ok I did not look on the savannah side. So both sides are being worked on.

It was our first deluxe stay for our son's high school graduation at AKL the second week of June! At first I was just a little disappointed with room location and how dark the old room condition was. But if we were in the room I turned every light on. Our room was the last room on floor 4 facing the front with trees and at the bus stop. The bus noise was not an issue at all. We live in an urban type neighborhood. I did like the tree foliage. But we didn't spend much time in the room. Due to some afternoon storms we like being undercover. The pool area is lovely which is my very favorite of the resort. Seeing the animals using night goggles was tons of fun! Enjoyed the Mara for QS meals. Very nice! The rooms will be so nice when all of them are renovated. For any future suggestions or if we return to AKL I will definitely upgrade to a pool view.

Hello. We have our first AKL stay coming up August 23-26. Yay!!! This will be a resort only trip, and we are staying in a Kidani Village savannah view studio. I originally wanted Jambo house but it was not available, but now I am kind of relieved because I was surprised to come on here and read about the construction. Now I won’t have to stress as much about where the construction is happening/seeing equipment on the savannah/noise scaring the animals away etc.

I know you can see parts of Jambo house across the Sunset Savannah from Kidani. Is all of the Kudu trail completed (both sides of the hallway)? And approximately how long were they working on the Kudu trail? If they are really just starting to work on the Zebra trail do you think it’s safe to assume they will still be working on that wing of the resort at the end of August? Even if the were working on the Kudu or Ostrich trails during my trip, do you think I would even notice it from any Kidani Savannah view rooms?

On an unrelated note. What floor do you recommend requesting for the best Savannah view at Kidani?

Does anyone know what room numbers are to the left of the lobby? I believe they are rooms that are viewable from the viewing rock (can't think of the name). I cant seem to find a large copy of a map.

We just returned from an 8 night stay at Jambo house and visited the pool at Kidani one morning. My kids (9yo twin girls) preferred the slide at Kidani. It seemed much taller than the one at Jambo, although Jambo's pool is larger.

I'll be in Kindani village at the end of july. First time at AKL. will be around the resort most of the time. anything we should do.

We just got back from a 5 day stay at Jambo and loved it! Very nice place, we did a few breakfasts at the Mara for quick bites before long days in the parks. The views are breathtaking and it’s really neat to wake up and see all the animals. The animals made my kids forget it was 6am! The lodge has a lot to offer, but we did not utilize any of it since we were in the parks from sunrise until 10 every day. The other restaurants looked good but we had character meals etc with the kids. The pool was great and open until 11 every night, the kids loved the water slide. The bus schedules are very dependable! I would not ever dream of driving! This was our first Disney trip and I must say it was a breeze! AKL jambo was first class!

October 31- Nov 7. Standard view room- Jambo.

Does anyone know what’s going on with the reno’s in Kudu Trail? This is the area we were wanting to try and catch a partial savannah view- though I’m really wanting renovated. Does anyone have another suggestion?
