It's A WONDERful 2015 - Feb Cruise, May WDW grand tour, and France/DLP! NEW 10/25 Nice & End!

What a beautiful home Da Vinci retired in! Love all the life size inventions.

I was also curious about the 2 level bridge... Does the water get high enough that it's necessary?

Wow- that dinner looked Amazing! How fun to experience as a 3 year old!

He is allergic to dust, mold, grass, etc. Usually it doesn't bother him too much, but we figured that house was built in the 1700's and he gets that way in old houses. (I forget why we decided the 1700's, maybe from the way it was constructed?).
Oh, okay, makes sense. I'm allergic to dust and mold too and I can see an older house causing issues with that.

I took this blurry picture because we passed so many beautiful little parks and I wanted to remember all the color that popped during our drive

Really pretty, despite the blurriness and rain! I'm sure it was great scenery just driving around.

After the basement, we exited to no rain! Woohoo!
Yay, glad that timing worked out well!

At lunch I ordered a goat cheese and tomato crème, then a toffee sweet crepe for dessert. Andrew had an onion soup, steak, and ice cream lol!
Mmmm, your food sounds good. And Andrew not even ordering a crepe... :rotfl:

I keep trying to figure out if that one guy is holding one or two dogs. :scratchin

There were only about 8 tables total and we were the first to be seated.
Wow, tiny! Glad that Aria is such a good dining companion!

I had apricot profiteroles with peach and berry sorbet.

I'm sure everything was delicious, but these desserts look so yummy!

We left about 9:40, feeling like it was a well paced and reasonable (for the food quality for sure) priced meal. When we got up to leave, people around the room all looked over and an older lady gave Aria a hug, it was like no one even realized we had a 3 year old there. She had many smiles and waves goodbye, it was so cute.
That's great, love it! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a pretty nice day, despite the rain. A little slower paced, but memorable!

Hope you're having a fantastic time at Disneyland! :goodvibes

I just had a chance to get all caught up and got to read all of your DLP posts at once. It's almost like y'all visited an entirely different park than we did, just because y'all were traveling with Aria and got to do more of the little kid stuff! So it was neat to read it from a different perspective. Like we skipped the Alice maze, most of the Studios (the Cars & Toy Story stuff), Casey Jr. train, Pirates play area, character meets, etc. But it really looks like y'all had an amazing visit. It's such a gorgeous park, and nothing can beat that nighttime show in my opinion!

I had some of the same complaints. People were a bit more pushy, but I had read about that prior to going. I had also read about the smoking issues, but it was so much more prevalent than I had imagined! It's so gross to be trapped in a queue behind someone who is smoking. We were stuck behind someone while waiting for the nighttime show that just kept lighting up, and it was disgusting. Neither DH or I have ever even tried a cigarette, and we both grew up with smokers who have since quit so we are really not around it at all if we can help it.

The pregnancy pass is a nice perk! But man, the list of stuff they restrict pregnant women from is pretty ridiculous!! I'm glad you were still able to get on quite a few things, though I did laugh at you pretending not to understand English & French for that CM at the train. lol

I can't believe the person at the store treated Andrew so rudely for not understanding French!! That was one of my biggest fears in traveling to Europe, particularly for the France portion of our trip. Since we ended up spending the entire time at DLP instead of venturing out to Paris, it ended up being a non issue (and people in Italy seemed much more forgiving for not knowing the language). Thankfully that other patron came to his defense.

The house you're staying at for this portion of the TR is simply adorable!!! I am also loving all of the chateaus you visited, as I love visiting old homes and palaces like that. Growing up, my grandparents would take me all over Louisiana and Mississippi visiting plantation homes, and the love has grown from there, so this would be right up my alley. And as I have always been on your TRs, I'm so impressed with how Aria is so well behaved, especially at meals! And still a great stroller napper!!

Hope y'all are having so much fun in Disneyland!! We are planning to go back sometime next year, probably in May. We will be missing Paint the Night there, and will be arriving in WDW later this year just in time for them to ditch MSEP and send it to DL. Perfect timing on our part, once again!!

Finally had a chance to get caught up! DL Paris looks so much different from when I was there (I think it was 2001!). The pushiness and smoking is something I dread for if we ever make it there. I lived in Spain for a while and used to go snowboarding and people were pushing to get on the gondolas - it was craziness.

I can't believe how empty the park looks on your early entry mornings. What great empty park photos!

I wonder if the cast members asking about pregnancies are ever wrong - that could be very awkward! When I checked into a hotel in Germany last year and was 19 weeks pregnant with Lola, I was barely showing. The lady checking me in asked if I was pregnant and then upgraded me because of it. I was happy for the upgrade, but couldn't believe she asked me that.

All of the restaurants that you ate at in DL looked so awesome. The decor really was impressive! I love the Minne dress that Aria is wearing in the Cafe Mickey pictures - where did you get that? So cute!

I hope you are having a blast in Disneyland with the girls!

The Le Clos Luce looks really cool - love that sort of stuff! Hard to imagine a staircase/walking bridge thing that is significantly older than our country

I've seen pictures of that two level bridge before - did they explain why the made a two level bridge or was it just to be cool?

Dinner looks amazing! I love how even the kids chicken had fancy presentation and foam and stuff with it

It was super cool and perfect for a combo of fun and history.

All the placards outside were in French but I looked up the two level bridge. HE designed it for the top part to be pedestrians and the bottom to be carriages/vehicle traffic

I loved that too! Aria thought it was fun. (dinner being all fancy lol)

What a beautiful home Da Vinci retired in! Love all the life size inventions.

I was also curious about the 2 level bridge... Does the water get high enough that it's necessary?

I looked it up and the two level bridge was designed for foot traffic to go on top and vehicles to go on the bottom!

It was a fantastic day and so nice just to get out and see the countryside too. It is a beautiful part of France, definitely a highlight!

That is funny how we did so many different things based on having Aria with us vs you two going on your own! Sorry you also experienced the smoking issues, so annoying having to deal with them!

The pregnancy pass was nice, but their view on pregnancy is definitely different than what I am used to.

I love the house we stayed at too, so perfectly rustic for that area.

We had a great time at Disneyland!! And...dun dun dun, aria is no longer a stroller napper lol. Well she did fall asleep during a late night walk back to the room, but otherwise she's finally beyond napping. Makes for more time in the day to do things though.

Haha oh no on the parades! We still have no idea what will be going on in December when we go to WDW.

I could deal with the DLP issues better than DH can, bc I was able to over look it easier since I was still in my Happy Place. I'd totally return given the chance!

that 8-10AM park opening time just for resort guests was amazing!

Wow, that is surprising to be asked at 19 weeks!! Glad you were actually pregnant hahaha. That happened to me on Prince Edward Island. I was 18 weeks pregnant with Aria, zero belly but wearing a maternity shirt because, well, it was comfortable :-D server at the restaurant asked!

The restaurants were fab! I think the Minnie dress is from LindyLoo - she's on facebook not sure if she has another shop elsewhere though (etsy or otherwise)

So - I kind of have some crazy news. :cutie: I'll get back to the France TR in the next couple of days, but I am still wrapping my head around our news so it's at the forefront of my thoughts at the moment.

We returned from Disneyland/San Diego Thursday night, and since I was a couple days "late" by that point I took a pregnancy test. It turned positive within a split second.

Since it took 1.5 years to conceive Aria and 2 years to conceive Maya, working with a fertility specialist each time, we were not really taking the necessary precautions for this sort of thing. I won't go into any further detail, but yes, I am pregnant! The doctor took this seriously thankfully considering past issues, and I had blood work done on Friday & Sunday (to check progesterone levels and hcg). Progesterone was perfect and hcg #'s quadrupled in 48hours.

I have an ultrasound scheduled for a week from today.

We are really excited, although a bit gobsmacked by the idea that we'll have a new baby when Maya is only 17 months. The Chinese Gender predictor is saying Boy, so we'll see.

If we are Facebook friends please don't post anything, it's stull super early, but I wanted to share with you all since you were there for me on my journey trying to Maya.

As for how this changes things that are upcoming: I am planning on our December Disney trip with Aria & Maya, meeting up with @Dugette and family.

Next April we had planned a week in Seattle, but that will probable be the week baby is born, so we're thinking of moving that off to August.

Next May I was considering a 5-7 night trip to Disney World with Lynda, Aron, her new baby (then 6 months), so I am considering doing a week in June instead? Not sure on this one. Would be fun if the new baby doesn't have the issues Maya did. Worried about June heat with a 6 week old though.

Next August we were planning a trip to Holland & Italy. That will have to be pushed back to 2018 (tentatively set for August 2018) for both time and money reasons.

Next Fall (2017) I didn't have any trips planned due to the big Europe trip, but would like to do a weekend trip to Disney during F&W so I'm keeping that idea in my back pocket. I do need to figure this & June out though as to whether I get the Annual Pass in December or not.

I already informed Aria & Maya's daycare who will hold a spot for Baby #3 starting mid-July 2017, and we've told a couple friends and parents and that's it.

Also, @TheMaxRebo can you tell me about your car seat hack for the baby jogger city mini double? Loved that set up for 3. We don't have that double but I was looking into it for when I travel solo with two little ones and Aria, seems like it'd be an easier fold than the City Select, although I sure do love the select. Nice you can add on the car seat though to make it a Triple for a bit!

sure ...

Basically what we did was we rented the citi mini double with the car seat attachment which had the ability to slide on it's rail ab it - so we moved it to the middle and then the older two could each fit into the seat parts with the baby in the car seat. They had to squeeze in a bit but one in, they fit ok

Here is how the set up would look via google image search

ok, I'm super dense ... I clicked on the alert which brought me directly to your post where you tagged me about the stroller and I didn't even think to scroll up to see the previous post .

um, CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's great!

Side/related note: we had similar issues with conceiving at first ... but not with baby #3 either so I think it is one of those things when you don't think about it/don't stress about it, it is easier to happen

Traveling with 3 is definitely different (just the room you need, etc.) but also fun!

As for your trips - definitely think pushing back Seattle makes sense ... at least when we went it isn't where I'd want to be like 9+months pregnante (hills) or with a tiny newborn.

We brought Emma when she was one month old in August to Disney so I am probably not the one to ask about that ;)

Side note on the stroller - what we did in Disneyland was got the citymini dobule with the glider board (since by then Emma wasn't in the car seat) so that can be another option

(again, image taken from google):

Popping out of lurkdom to offer heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS! Prayers and best wishes for an easy and uneventful pregnancy!

Wow! Congratulations! Mine are a tad farther apart than that (22 months) and I loved it. It was hard when I had two toddlers (baby #2 walked at 9 months) but other than that it's so much fun. I bet Aria will be over the moon about another baby!

Congratulations, again! :goodvibes So crazy how plans can change, but glad everything is going well. I'm just waiting for that ultrasound to show twins just as you're getting used to the idea of another baby so soon. ;) (Joking...mostly...)

Glad that our trip is still on and we'll be happy to help out with taking Aria on things for you or whatever plan changes this news will entail. Seems like I only see you in WDW when you are preggo. :scratchin (By the way, Izzy and I were talking tonight about the trip and she is still adamant that she will hold Aria's hand on anything she may be scared of, even if she is scared herself. So cute). At least Frozen Ever After doesn't have any pregnancy restrictions (but I'm sure it would in France!). Huh, I just noticed that FEA has Rider Swap and I can't figure out WHY?! :confused3

Sorry that you had to move around your other trips, but sounds like you have a decent plan. And that F&W in the fall sounds nice....I miss F&W. And, by then, you'll probably need some wine!

Glad your daycare provider will have another spot! I wondered, since I know that can be tough sometimes with the limits they have on them (especially for infants). Whew!

Continued pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for the pregnancy!

Thank you! I wasn't seeing this configuration on Baby Jogger's website or Amazon so I've deduced that they did away with this type of car seat attachment with the 2016 model boo! :( I think we're going to stick to a glider board for the City Select for Aria and hope that by 5.5 years old that will be fine for her. I can always put the new baby in a carrier for a bit if Aria really needs to lay down.

OMG! SO exciting - congrats!!!

Thanks!!

Hahahaha I thought that might be what happened ;) yeah the glider board is what I'm thinking! And it would work on the City Mini double if we decide to grab one of those as a back up double.

Thank you! Yeah, I do believe in the power of not trying at all lol! Traveling with 2 has definitely been a learning curve. We had a mid size car in California and we couldn't have stuffed another purse in the car if we tried. Speaking of cars, we'll be trading in my zippy BMW for something a bit more kid-friendly too I am thinking. We have an Expedition so it's not dire, but both cars will need to fit the kids so we may be heading down the dreaded minivan route LOL. ;) It's one of those things I said I would NEVER EVER EVER get. And now I'm excited to test drive them.

I know, I am okay with traveling with an infant for sure. Maya was an oddity with her issues and us just learning how to deal with them. Our Jan/Feb trip was still fun BUT she was no fun really. It was fun for Aria.

What exciting news! Congratulations and best wishes for a easy pregnancy.

Aw thank you!

Popping out of lurkdom to offer heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS! Prayers and best wishes for an easy and uneventful pregnancy!

Thanks so much for coming out of lurkdom! And thank you so much!

Aria is excited! I did tell her knowing that I'd be telling daycare and IL's anyway (since you know, a 4 year old is SO good at keeping secrets). She has been going back and forth on whether she wants a brother or sister, although last night she said she wanted it to be another girl so that Maya has a baby sister too lol.

Congratulations, again! :goodvibes So crazy how plans can change, but glad everything is going well. I'm just waiting for that ultrasound to show twins just as you're getting used to the idea of another baby so soon. ;) (Joking...mostly...)

I am definitely NOT waiting for the ultrasound to show twins hahaha. I am very excited to see how things go next Tuesday though.

That's interesting about FEA? I'm surprised they have the RS option. If I'm not showing too much, I might ride Soarin' although I did get to ride it in CA (Aria LOVED IT). IMO there is no reason for the pregnancy restriction on that, although maybe I should look into that further. Def no test track or others. I won't do 7DMT either. So that might be interesting with you taking on Izzy & Aria -Aria will have to sit with a stranger I guess? Not sure how that works. On the others she can sit with Dug (or you, depending on where Izzy wants to sit).

Kinda sad about the Tomorrowland Speedway - Maya is already 30" at 9 months so by a year she may even hit 32" to ride that! Her first height requirement ride!

I think she can have 3 under 2? and one must be walking? She currently has Maya and then 2 2year olds (one of which has a baby brother on the way, he'll be starting daycare there in April), then a 3 year old and two 4 year olds - both of which will be starting Kindergarten next fall. Anyway, this is why she was one of the first to know. It's amazing she'll hold the spot (she did this for Maya too). Plus she charges half price for the second/third kids... (now, if we have twins, this will be an issue I think due to regulations).

We went down the mini-van route and have become loyal to the Toyota Sienna as that is the only mini-van with an All Wheel Drive option and helps with the winters we have in the northeast. And I do have to say mini-vans nowadays are pretty cool with all the gadgets and features they have and they drive just like cars really

Also, you can get creative with fitting car seats if you get the right ones ... we are able to fit 3 across the back of my KIA Optima

We had this last trip with rides like 7DMT and Big Thunder where Emma was too small but with the ride swap Judi or myself could take Olivia and Peter and to ride along (i.e. not with a guardian) you had to be 7 and Olivia got asked a few times if she was 7 ... so not sure if Aria could pass for 7 - if not she would need to ride with Dug or Dugette

Aw, that is super sweet! :lovestruc

Depending on what you end up getting, there are some carseats that are known for being a good fit three across in most vehicles - the Diono Radian is the one I've seen mentioned most. (I just was looking into/ordering new carseats, as Izzy apparently has a long torso or something and is about to outgrow her convertible seats that go up to 65 pounds and 49 inches, which she is not remotely close to, but her shoulders are up to the top of the straps. :confused3)

I am definitely NOT waiting for the ultrasound to show twins hahaha. I am very excited to see how things go next Tuesday though.
Well, for your sake and your sanity, I'm hoping not either. But it seems that Mayan goddess really took your fertility request seriously, not to mention the quadrupling HCG... I hope the ultrasound is perfect - I can't remember, can they see the heartbeat this early? I think maybe??

That's interesting about FEA? I'm surprised they have the RS option. If I'm not showing too much, I might ride Soarin' although I did get to ride it in CA (Aria LOVED IT). IMO there is no reason for the pregnancy restriction on that, although maybe I should look into that further.
For the life of me, I can't figure out why there is RS on FEA. Really, Soarin' is restricted? I didn't realize that, just figured it was like watching a movie with a seatbelt on. :rotfl: Don't jump off and I think you'll be okay. ;)

So that might be interesting with you taking on Izzy & Aria -Aria will have to sit with a stranger I guess?
Yeah, I was thinking about that too. My other thought was that she and Izzy could ride together (and hold hands :lovestruc) and I could ride with a stranger. Unless Dug is up for trying it again, but I'm doubting that. We'll figure something out.

Kinda sad about the Tomorrowland Speedway - Maya is already 30" at 9 months so by a year she may even hit 32" to ride that! Her first height requirement ride!
Wow, what a tall girl!! I don't think Izzy rode that until the June 2014 trip, so she would have been 21 months.

Anyway, this is why she was one of the first to know. It's amazing she'll hold the spot (she did this for Maya too). Plus she charges half price for the second/third kids...
That's great she is able to hold the spot. I know that here most home daycares can't have more than one infant at a time, so it was such a challenge to find daycare for Izzy (but we ended up with a great one - even though it was really the only one we could find with an opening). That is incredible that she only charges half price!!!! I've heard of maybe a 10% discount, but never that much. Wow!! I don't know what our daycare provider does, but now I'm curious. :scratchin
