Do you get weird aches and pains in it every now and then?

I broke my collarbone in September 06, and it still bothers me now and then. It'll never be fully healed, and I'll always have a raised left collarbone. But man, does it hurt! It particularly hurts when there's crappy, dreary weather, but it really gets aggrivated after a bad nights sleep.
Am I being the oddball out, or do you guys get this too?

I too broke my left collarbone. I broke it when I was in the first grade. Well, I'm pretty sure mine healed correctly. I broke it at my neighbor's house (I was playing with their kids) and the sister, brother, and I played the game where you run in a circle holding hands, fun as fast as you can, and then you let go. Their mom and older sister said that "Someone is going to get hurt" and yeah someone did -me. I never ran as fast as those two did, but I ended up falling on one of those decorative deer/fawn statue-like things that sit on the floor. (It was hollow.) I fell and landed on it's antler. My mom had troubles believing that it was broken. I was forced by the pressure of her boyfriend at the time to raise it up while I wanted to keep it in a position close to my body. It was disappointing to me that she didn't believe me over him - in the situation about what was right - it needed to be in one position (the slinged position). I screamed with pain when I lifted my arm and had to do it again. That was terrible pain. I know that that had made it worse.

Ouch! is what I have to say if you are going through pain like what I had to do when I lifted my arm while being broken. I feel bad that your collarbone hurts like that. I hope it gets better or gets corrected by surgery? (idk) My situation opposes yours. Anyone have a non-corrected collarbone?

I think this pretty much happens to everyone. I sprained my ankle last year and it still hurts every now and then. Its definatly not just you.

I get those pains, too. You're not alone :rotfl:

I broke my finger in 7th grade (I'll be a senior this coming fall) and everytime bad weather is coming, it starts to ache. Well, it aches and feels like there's a lot of pressure on it. It's decreased from when I broke it, but it does still ache with bad weather.

I also broke my collarbone when i was 3 (maybe I was 2... I don't remember) but it doesn't ache like my finger. It used to ache really badly if I had to sit for long periods of time (mainly when I had to sit properly with my upper body really tall), but it doesn't do that anymore unless I'm sitting for a really, REALLY long time.

I think over time the pain might go away - it did for me.

Yep, that's what mine is, non-corrected. The doctor said it'll never heal correctly, like it won't look like what it was before. Now mine is raised, but people can't really tell unless I hunch my shoulders and show them. Y'know that little hollow space between your shoulder/collarbone and neck? Well my right side is really wide, but the left is really small from breaking it.
Surgery could be a possibility in the future is what the doctor said when I broke it, but I'm not sure if it's still an option.

I broke mine 2 weeks into the 7th grade. I was in gym, playing kickball, and running to 3nd base I tripped and fell over my own foot. I flipped a couple times, but blacked out for about a second. The gym teachers were like, are you okay? You fell pretty badly. I was fine for the first 5 minutes, but then the pain really set in. I went to the nurse, she didn't see anything even tho I was bawling my eyes out, and sent me to change and go back to class.
OUCH!!! I couldn't button my jeans so I had to have a friend help me, and it hurt to climb the stairs.
I couldn't sit in my desk, the ones where the chairs are connected, so I got to sit in the teachers rocking chair.
Now, the nurse was leary of calling my mom and my mom picking me up because they both knew I "overexaggerated" most of the time. ;)
2 hours later I was still in excruicating pain, so I went back to the nurse and she checked my arm again. This time she saw swelling and recommended my mom take me to the doctors. Mom wasn't happy she had to leave work 1 hour early, but she was only 5 minutes away.
Thank God my doctors office was having a slow day, so I got my x-rays done immeadiatly and saw the ortho. Yup, I broke my collarbone, but I was so in shock because I'd never broken anything before, I'm naturally very cautious.

I was put in the figure 8 brace, and looked horrible for picture day because I could only wear it over my shirts. I lived in baggy tees and sweats for about 2
weeks, I couldn't button or fasten anything. I had Vicodin to take, and I could only sleep on the recliner, laying flat was bad per the doctor, and it hurt. It took about 6-8 weeks to heal, but I was more mad at the fact I couldn't play hockey than if I broke anything.

Phew, sorry, that was long.

I broke my tailbone in 6th grade. It still hurts if I sit for a certain amount of time or if I sit a certain way.

The same thing sort of happened when I broke my finger. I was in gym and I was running (we were playing a game) and this girl who wasn't playing jumped in front of me while I was running and I accidently stepped on her foot. It made her mad, so she ran after me and tripped me. Pleasant girl she was  . Anyway, I fell and when I got up, my finger was red and swollen. I asked my gym teacher if I could go to the nurse, and he said no . It was hard to button up my pants, too, but I finally got it :rotfl:. During my next class I found that it was impossible to write, so I asked if I could go to the nurse. Well, the nurse wasn't there that day, so the "subsitute" told me to go away and that she couldn't help :furious:. After school I told my dad what happened, and he took me to the ER to get my finger x-rayed (we had just moved here and I didn't have a doctor yet). The doctors in the ER said it wasn't broken, and they told me to see an ortho. if it still hurt in two weeks. Well, it did, and I went to the ortho. and found out it was broken.

When I broke my collarbone, I was 2 (I'm pretty sure of it now), and my dad took me to a park on Christmas Eve to play. I was on this wooden board-thing that was raised off the ground (only about 5 inches) and I fell on my shoulder. It took my parents 3 days to realize something was wrong. Turns out my collarbone was completely snapped in half. I was put into a figure 8 brace too, but I don't really remember it. To this day I can still feel where the bones re-joined.

Wow... that was long :rotfl:

I broke my femur in the fifth grade, the bone that connects to your hip, and it hurts a lot. When the weather changes drastically, like it does every day in Kentucky,it hurts. It also hurts REALLY bad when I walk a lot, like when I go shopping...even though that really isnt that much walking. I hate it.

mine happens in my hands. my hands go through hell with the typing/texting and work i put them through. plus i think i've broken a couple of my fingers and they never healed correctly. when the weather sucks, the joints in my hands ache awfully. i think i have arthritis.

That's normal. It happens to a lot of people with arthritis too.
I have two scars on my chin from stitches and they hurt when it's too cold or rainy out.
So it's a common thing.

i broke my ankle back in the second grade.
and it still gives me problems.
of course ive twisted/sprained/pulled ligaments in it about 4 times since then, but i still am not able to fully run on it and i had to quit ballet when i was younger. every now and then (especially if im up on my feet for an extended amount of time on hard surfaces or if im walking long distances fairly quickly) it starts to ache a little.

Yeah, I broke my wrist and my ankle and whenever it rains or snows or is just damp, my wrist hurts. Not so much my ankle though, weird.

Yes, I do...but I broke my foot 2 months ago and I just started playing volleyball on it again so I guess that would explain why. lol

It's not really the bones I've broken (both my wrists) that bother me, it's more things that I've sprained really badly or torn ligaments.
Especially my back. I sprained it REALLY badly once, and now I constantly mildly re-sprain it, usually around once a month.

i broke both my arms at one time in 06 and still get weird little aches in it from time to time.

My mom broke her elbow in February of this year. She complains that it aches in bad weather.

I broke my pinky in like...2004.
It still hurts from time to time.

yeah thats normal

I broke my little toe in 2004 ( i ran into the wall) and I broke my little toe on the other foot in 2007 (i ran into a couch) and they still hurt sometimes. Same way with scars and sprains.

I have broken 13 different bones.
So to answer your question, I get aches after every single one.
It wears off after a while though.
