How can this year possibly get better? LET'S GO TO WDW!!- A 10-Day November 2021 TR- Updated 9/26/23!

Side note- this is one of the only times you’ll see me with ears on in the parks :) I always promise myself that I’ll actually wear them, cave and buy a cute pair, and then take them off after 10 minutes because they hurt my head!
Do you buy ears from Disney? I can't wear their ears either. Most of the small shops I've bought from though are way more comfortable and I can wear them all day.

Now, I hate saying this about my beloved Splash, but it was REALLY looking worse for the wear. Some of the animatronics weren’t working, and a lot of the water effects were turned off. I have to cherish this ride while I can, because it will be replaced any day now! In a perfect world, we’d get Splash Mountain AND a new Princess and the Frog ride :) Ok, off my soapbox now!
When I rode Splash last trip I kept finding myself saying "that's broken and that's broken and that's broken."

Pirates turned out to be our last LL of the night. We were EXTREMELY pleased with our experience with Genie + so far. The LL lines moved way quicker than FP and I was able to make selections easily as the day progressed. We had done everything we wanted to and more!
This makes me feel better about Genie+ since most things I've read have been negative.

And let me tell you, we were SO happy we ended with that! We were able to walk right in for the show. I had heard that Philharmagic had been updated to add a new scene from Coco, so we were super excited to see it. What we weren’t prepared for was just how CLEAR the entire video had become! It was like watching a whole new movie! Mom and I couldn’t believe how crystal clear the animation was, considering how blurry it had been in the past. It added so much more to the experience. We also loved the new scene. We vowed to come back on our next MK day and watch it again!
Oh I'm so excited to see this!! I kind of wish they would redo the rest of it. Same scenes just better quality.

As we entered the park, Mom exclaimed, “Look Molly, we’re finally at Epic!”

Yep… she meant Epcot :)
Ha! I love all the Lori-ishms

I was realllllly hoping that we would get evacuated off. That’s how you know you’re a Disney nerd!
So true!

YUM! This was amazing! I am a huge fan of sweet/salty combinations, so I knew that this would be right up my alley. It was a little messy- I wolfed this down since I was so hungry so I probably wasn’t very ladylike :) My mom tried this and really liked it too, and I was surprised because it’s a bit out of the box for her!
This sounds like something I would like. Is it a seasonal item?

Soarin is definitely in Mom and I’s top 5 rides. I could ride it over and over all day long! My favorite scene is Paris at night. What’s yours?
I love going over the EPCOT ball at the end, for some reason.

A bit different than years prior! Of course, I tortured my Mom and made her taste the Beverly (she hates it, but I don’t mind it!) My favorite was definitely the cucumber Sprite, it was so refreshing! We both HATED the soda from the Philippines- YUCK!! It tasted like salty fruit! I gagged and almost spit it right back out!
I can't wait to do this again. I feel like this is another sign you are a disney nerd.

We stopped in Germany to grab some caramel corn from Karamel Kuche (my Mom’s favorite)! I also got a chocolate-covered caramel s’mores treat.
We didn't go in here for so many trips and I don't know why! It's so good.

Well, so much for that! Begrudgingly, we ran down to the lobby to figure it out. They sent a maintenance guy up right away, and he was there in less than 5 minutes to screw a new keypad on and let us in. Very prompt service! Bell services also arrived immediately after, so we could finally get settled in.
How did the door not have a scanner?!?! so strange.

My sister says that she’d like to take them for their 3rd birthday. Of course, I’d be the master planner for that trip
You know this, I am sure, but they should go right before they turn 3. When they are still free. That was Gwen's first trip, she was 2 months shy of 3 and it was perfect. She was old enough to enjoy the rides and know the characters she was meeting but still free!

My mom refused to let me take a picture of her score :)
Ha. Smart lady!

Mister, am I ok?” before the ride took off. The ride operator was so nice, and said “You’re totally fine buddy. I wouldn’t send off the ride if you weren’t”. It was such a cute exchange! I asked him if he liked the ride after he got off, and he screamed “Noooo!”, haha!
Poor guy!

No ride pictures since I was FaceTiming! It was so fun to “experience” the ride with Jake :) I have loved this ride ever since I was a kid!
I love that he wanted to facetime with you on a ride.

We felt soooo accomplished!! Genie + was definitely a win today. At the end of the trip, I had mixed feelings about Genie +. You’ll find out why later ;)
I am intrested to here all your ecpierences.

and then take them off after 10 minutes because they hurt my head!
Me too! I just ordered a visor with ears on it for our next trip because I am just like you.

hat we weren’t prepared for was just how CLEAR the entire video had become! It was like watching a whole new movie!
I can't wait to see this! I always loved this, but was starting to get to the point where I couldn't ride it.

Lol, I sent my Jacob your picture of the Uncle Jacob statue. Last time we were there, I made him stand next to it for a picture. I also have a picture of him next to Jacob the sheep from our zoo.

Your MK days sounds amazing. The way Genie + worked for you is what I'm hoping happens this summer for me.
I love that you FaceTimed during a ride. Whenever I visited the parks while my husband was deployed, he wanted me to video chat with him while I scanned my ticket and entered a park, so it felt like he was there, too. :goodvibes

I didn't know they made Philarmagic sharper! Oh, that's awesome. Sometimes, it's little touches that can really revive a dated attraction.

Longtime lurker here. I just have to say hi, because I actually saw you on this trip. My husband and I were leaving the Magic Kingdom around 5pm on the 17th (to catch the magical express :(), and we passed you and your mom on Main St. If we hadn't been in a hurry, I might have been brave enough to say hi. Also, how cool that Jake is an audiologist. My son and I have been wearing hearing aids for a few years now, and I am forever grateful to our audiologist. Oh, and my husband and I got engaged on January 26th. It's a fantastic day. :)

I LOVE this comment :) Made my day!!! I love that we have so many similarities :) I so wish that we could have met at MK! How was your trip??

You got so much done! This is really selling Genie+!

Curious at your hint about Genie+ later in the trip, it sounds like it was really great for this MK day.

I didn't know Philharmagic got a refresh! We love Coco, so excited to hear this!

Genie + was definitely a win that day!! It definitely has it's ups and downs but for MK it is a really good option since there are so many rides to choose from! We LOVED the scene from Coco- it was so cool and fit in perfectly with the rest of the video :)

Do you buy ears from Disney? I can't wear their ears either. Most of the small shops I've bought from though are way more comfortable and I can wear them all day.

When I rode Splash last trip I kept finding myself saying "that's broken and that's broken and that's broken."

Oh I'm so excited to see this!! I kind of wish they would redo the rest of it. Same scenes just better quality.

I've tried both ears from Disney and Etsy and haven't had any luck :( maybe I'm buying from the wrong shops?? What are your favorite shops? The ones I bought from Etsy were way too top-heavy and kept tipping over my face!

The new Philharmagic is definitely all-around better quality! I'm glad they kept the old scenes since it's very nostalgic for us :)

Ha! I love all the Lori-ishms

So true!

This sounds like something I would like. Is it a seasonal item?

I love going over the EPCOT ball at the end, for some reason.

Me too! I just ordered a visor with ears on it for our next trip because I am just like you.

I can't wait to see this! I always loved this, but was starting to get to the point where I couldn't ride it.

The donut sandwich was just for Food and Wine festival, sadly! They had a whole donut booth and I heard it was a huge hit. I really hope they bring it back next year!

YES to free before 3!! I've really hammered it in to Haley to take them just before they turn 3 :) I'm hoping they go sometime in May- I loved our May 2019 trip and it's one of my favorite times to be in WDW because of Flower and Garden Festival!

Lol, I sent my Jacob your picture of the Uncle Jacob statue. Last time we were there, I made him stand next to it for a picture. I also have a picture of him next to Jacob the sheep from our zoo.

Haha, I never noticed the statue had a name until this trip!! Jake jokes around that every day at work, he gets another joke about "Jake from state farm", LOL!

It was definitely a win for our MK days! It's the perfect park for it since MK has so many attractions! Jake and I facetimed in the parks a few times more before he joined us, and it really made it seem like he was there :)

We loved the new scene on Philharmagic. It was such a nice addition... and the clear movie was awesome.

We were so pleasantly surprised at how good the movie looks!!

Day 2, Part 3- November 14th, 2021

It was nearing 7:15 PM, so Mom and I had some time to look in the stores on Main Street before scoping out a spot for Enchantment.

WRONG DECISION.

The Emporium was literally the most packed I had ever seen in my life! The line to check out was probably an hour long, and people were packed in and shoving each other like crazies. I made the decision almost immediately to get the *youknowwhat* outta there, and texted my mom that I would be outside on Main Street reserving our spot until the fireworks :) Mom made it out of the Emporium pretty quickly too, and stopped at the Confectionary while I reserved our spot. She got us two bottles of water, a cookie for herself, and a cake pop for me!

At least it was beautiful outside!

I tried to go up by the train station to see if I could go to the second floor viewing area, but it was closed off. I managed to squeeze into a spot that was almost dead center on Main Street!

The people around me were very nice, so I made chit-chat with them while waiting for my mom. I also Facetimed Jake to show him the view and let him know that I wished he was here too :)

While waiting, there was a lady with a stroller being escorted out by a CM. She was hysterical and screaming at the top of her lungs, “MOVE IT, LET ME OUT, ALL OF YOU (non-Disboards appropriate word)s NEED TO MOVE IT” and cussing up a storm. Of course, the people around us (me and Mom included) let out a little giggle after she passed by, But then, as we thought about it more, we were wondering if she had maybe received some terrible news or lost her child in the crowd :( So, we felt bad about laughing. We were hoping that nothing awful had happened to her and that she was just being a Karen!

Soon enough, Enchantment began!

When I heard that Happily Ever After was being retired for a new 50th anniversary show, I was shocked and very sad, since I feel like HEA had just started and I LOVED that show. But, I was optimistic. After all, I felt the exact same way when Wishes left, and I was so impressed with HEA! I wanted to maybe surprise my Mom with a dessert party on this night, but I figured it would be smart to watch the show first and see if I wanted to pay extra for preferred viewing. I waited until a few weeks before the trip, then I bit the bullet and watched Enchantment on Youtube.

Hmmm.

Disappointed was an understatement. An overload of Frozen and Moana (I like both of those movies, but still..). And despite it being the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom, NO park music, NO mention of Mickey Mouse, and NO mention of WALT DISNEY!!!

D37EAB00-02ED-4A7E-A1FC-2D104A7F0F65.gif

I almost decided to boycott the show entirely and not make a huge effort to watch it, but my mom wanted to see the show at least once on our trip. And I love my mom, so of course I obliged :) I made sure not to fill her brain with my negativity before the show and let her decide for herself if she liked it or not. After Enchantment ended, Mom turned to me and said,

“Something was missing. It didn’t feel as magical or heart-warming as the other ones. I didn’t really like it.”

I rest my case :) We then proceeded to lament about the show for the next 5 minutes, haha! Hey, at least Disney got one new show right in Harmonious!

Disney’s Very Merry After Hours was scheduled this night, so we headed out of the park as soon as the fireworks ended. We waited about 10 minutes for a bus, and we were back home at 8:55 PM!

Mom and I weren’t ready for the night to end, plus we were getting pretty hungry! So, we headed down to the Boardwalk in search of some nourishment.

There was an acapella group out on the Boardwalk that was pretty good! We listened to them for a bit before heading to our destination- Abracadabar!

I had gotten drinks at Abracadabar with my friends on a girl’s trip back in 2017 and we all loved it. I had definitely wanted to stop back here since we were staying at BWV!

Tonight was the coldest night of the entire trip, at about 50 degrees. I had the shivers and was desperate to get inside! That sounds so weak coming from a Wisconsinite, but Florida cold feels different than Wisconsin cold! We found comfy couch seats immediately and sat down.

This place is really a hidden gem. I feel like it’s never crowded and it has some awesome ambiance! Everything is “magic” themed in here, with creepy artifacts and disappearing paintings. It was so fun to look around as we enjoyed our late dinner.

Our waiter here was super nice! He was from Ohio, so we chatted about the Midwest. He said that he used to work at Jiko, and was hoping to return there once it opened back up.

To drink, I ordered the Seashore Sweet (Absolut Citron, lemonade, and cotton candy syrup), and Mom got a bourbon Old Fashioned.

I ordered this the last time I went here too, and it did not disappoint! It is definitely sweet, but I love anything cotton candy flavored, so this was a hit.

The waiter raved about their appetizers (Abracadabar shares a kitchen with Trattoria al Forno) , so we grabbed a bite to eat too since we hadn’t eaten since lunch! We decided to split the Margherita Pizza!

YUM! This was delicious and hit the spot! We weren’t too starving (walking around a hot park all day kind of kills our appetite) but this was just enough to satisfy us. The pizza tasted really fresh and flavorful.

It was so nice to wind down after our commando park day. Mom and I chatted about how productive our day was and how much fun we were having :) We also texted a few friends back home and made them jealous with our drink pictures, haha!

We headed out of Abracadabar at 10:15 PM and walked back to the room. It was a quiet night on the Boardwalk!

Mom and I had a super early morning planned for tomorrow, so we showered up and got ready for bed quickly. Before I brushed my teeth, I enjoyed my Butterfinger Mickey Cake Pop that Mom had gotten me earlier from the Confectionary! However, when I opened it up, a tragedy happened…

(Please excuse the no makeup and messy hair)

It fell apart! So I had to eat it with my hands :(

If you have read my past TRs, you’ll know that Mom and I LOVE watching Lifetime Movies on girl’s trips. It’s like our little tradition! So tonight, we turned on “Deadly Due Date” (LOL) and dozed off at about 11:30 PM. Alarms were set for 6:45 AM for another jam-packed day tomorrow!

Also, here's an updated shot of Evie and Ollie, because they're getting so big

It's hard, you just never know what someone has going on. It is intresting that they were being escorted by a CM.

“Something was missing. It didn’t feel as magical or heart-warming as the other ones. I didn’t really like it.”

I rest my case :) We then proceeded to lament about the show for the next 5 minutes, haha! Hey, at least Disney got one new show right in Harmonious!
I am intrested to see it for myself. But I have a feeling we might not see it this trip. Not loving the idea of standing in a crowd just yet, we have always hated waiting for fireworks to start, even before covid. So, I have a feeling we will skip MK. But we will see.

YUM! This was delicious and hit the spot! We weren’t too starving (walking around a hot park all day kind of kills our appetite) but this was just enough to satisfy us. The pizza tasted really fresh and flavorful.
Heat really does supress you appetitte. I feel like I get into a cold restaurant and all of a sudden I am starving!

If you have read my past TRs, you’ll know that Mom and I LOVE watching Lifetime Movies on girl’s trips. It’s like our little tradition! So tonight, we turned on “Deadly Due Date” (LOL)
Deadly Due Date... hilarious.

Also, here's an updated shot of Evie and Ollie, because they're getting so big

They are adorable!

I've tried both ears from Disney and Etsy and haven't had any luck :( maybe I'm buying from the wrong shops?? What are your favorite shops? The ones I bought from Etsy were way too top-heavy and kept tipping over my face!
My favorites are BBBrooke on instagram and Aloha Ears Design. Aloha does interchangeable 3D printed ears so they feel lighter.

Disappointed was an understatement. An overload of Frozen and Moana (I like both of those movies, but still..). And despite it being the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom, NO park music, NO mention of Mickey Mouse, and NO mention of WALT DISNEY!!!
Same! However, we saw it on October 1st and didn't have a great view so I booked the dessert party for my solo trip in March and I'm going to hold off judgement until I see it then with a good view.

I'm really enjoying your trip report! It sounds like you and your mom have so much fun together. My girls are 14 and 9 and I hope that they will still want to go to Disney with me when they are adults.

Our next trip is in April and I was thinking about booking a dessert party to watch the fireworks. We haven't seen the new show before and I keep reading bad reviews of it so now I'm not sure if I should spend the money for the dessert party, especially since it has gotten much more expensive since the last time we did a dessert party several years ago.

Hi! I'm new to reading and following trip reports but I've loved yours so far!

Me and my boyfriend are headed to WDW for the first time in March! Love seeing your reviews for Genie+ and abrcadabar!

You guys look like you had the best time!

My favorite ears are by Mousetiara on Etsy, but you gotta really like cute/kawaii stuff or they won't be to your liking :P I, however, want them ALL. I have the Bruni ears and everyone lost their minds about how cute they are when I went in 2020, lol. They are comfy and soft :)

I LOVE this comment :) Made my day!!! I love that we have so many similarities :) I so wish that we could have met at MK! How was your trip??

I should have said hi! I was trying to explain to DH... "I know her! Well, I don't *know* her know her... but I know who she is!" :rotfl:We had an amazing trip. We hadn't been to WDW since December 2019, and this was the kid-free trip we'd rescheduled from April 2020. I was just SO HAPPY to actually be there and couldn't believe that we were. We're hoping that what we learned about Genie+ will help us when we take the kids in June.

We actually watched Enchantment the night before you did. We booked the dessert party because it was my birthday. Everything felt extra magical this trip, but that whole viewing experience was tainted by a family who came in at the last minute and started out standing behind us. During the fireworks they squeezed in front of us, and the dad put one of the kids on his shoulders. :headache: It was fine for DH, who is 6'5", but I'm 5'4". Anyway... I LOVED the music, but I want another chance to see the whole show clearly. I'm sorry you were disappointed in it. It's so hard to see Disney change the things we love.

Evie and Ollie could not be cuter!

Something was missing. It didn’t feel as magical or heart-warming as the other ones. I didn’t really like it.”
I felt exactly the same way, we did a after fireworks dessert party last week and it was fine but overall a big disappointment and a one and done until they bring back a better show, #HEA, #Wishes!!
I rest my case :) We then proceeded to lament about the show for the next 5 minutes, haha! Hey, at least Disney got one new show right in Harmonious
I agree totally!
I love the review of the Abracadabra bar, we need to try it one of our trips. We are staying at BC late August so it is on the list for that trip!
Such cuties! Evie and Ollie

Never been to the Abracadabra, that pizza looks fantastic. Do they have a decent selection of beer there? If so, we'll have to try it if we go in 2023. Evie and Ollie are so cute, and I really love their names.

When it's cold in Florida, you do feel it more because of the humidity. My DD and DSIL just got home last Wed. from WDW and were there after a cruise the two days it was in the 30s. I can't imagine how cold that felt down there. I bet Disney sold tons of sweatshirts for those that were unprepared for that kind of cold.

Since prices were so reasonable, we decided to go all out and get a room at the Wynn-Encore resort for our first night!

So glad you got to stay here. It's such a beautiful resort. Jason and I stayed here when we got married (a very classy $99 affair). Only we would spend more money on our hotel than our wedding :rotfl2:

Our first night, I managed to score a reservation at the brand new Delilah supper club at the Wynn resort.
Oh I'll have to check out their menu. I hadn't heard of this place before and we are hopefully headed back to Vegas this summer.

Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesar’s Palace (we were so excited for this- we are both huge fans of the show Vanderpump Rules!)
Love this!!! I'm addicted to all things Real Housewives and Vanderpump so this is definitely on my list.

Ugh. Can you say disappointed! We did not like “O” at all! “Ka" was dramatic, entertaining, and followed a breathtaking story! “O” was just disjointed and silly!! Have any of you guys seen any Cirque shows?? I always wanted to see "La Nouba" but didn’t see it in time before it closed!
I've seen both of those and you aren't wrong with O. Its always reviewed so well but we just weren't fans. I think the water is cool but it just doesn't seem as good as the other shows. Don't tell Jake but Love is definitely my favorite. Casey is a big beatles fan so pretty sure we'll do it when we go.

Also, he reminds me of Howie Dorough (AKA, my favorite Backstreet Boy). Does anyone else see it?!
You are so right!

The rest would be way too stressful! My sister says that she’d like to take them for their 3rd birthday. Of course, I’d be the master planner for that trip :)
Make sure the master planner remembers they are free before they are 3 (even if they turn 3 while they are there) so definitely go right before the big day. We got 2 free trips in for Casey and it was great on the wallet

Side note- this is one of the only times you’ll see me with ears on in the parks :) I always promise myself that I’ll actually wear them, cave and buy a cute pair, and then take them off after 10 minutes because they hurt my head!
First, love these pictures. And second I'm so with you. I never even try anymore. My big Charlie brown head just isn't meant to have anything other than my 2 ears on it

Disappointed was an understatement. An overload of Frozen and Moana (I like both of those movies, but still..). And despite it being the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom, NO park music, NO mention of Mickey Mouse, and NO mention of WALT DISNEY!!!
Preach!!!! We didn't even watch Enchantment in person. We hated it online figured there was no need to endure it in person. This should have been their best show ever and Disney completely missed the nostalgia mark in favor of pushing their newer IP

 They are adorable. What a lucky aunt you are

It's hard, you just never know what someone has going on. It is intresting that they were being escorted by a CM.

Deadly Due Date... hilarious.

They are adorable!

Thank you :) I'm obsessed with those babies!

I was very surprised at how much I didn't "miss" the fireworks during my trip in February 2021. It did decrease a lot of stress without having to worry about getting a spot, waiting, walking out in the crowds, etc.!

My favorites are BBBrooke on instagram and Aloha Ears Design. Aloha does interchangeable 3D printed ears so they feel lighter.

Same! However, we saw it on October 1st and didn't have a great view so I booked the dessert party for my solo trip in March and I'm going to hold off judgement until I see it then with a good view.

I follow BBBrooke but I have never purchased her ears before!! I do looooove dessert parties and wish we would have done one this trip. Maybe all of the yummy desserts will also help your perspective and put you in a good mood :)

I'm really enjoying your trip report! It sounds like you and your mom have so much fun together. My girls are 14 and 9 and I hope that they will still want to go to Disney with me when they are adults.

Thanks so much for following along :) We always have a great time on our trips and I pray that you will have the chance to take those trips with them too!!

Ahhh, I hate how expensive dessert parties have gotten :( I love me some desserts but I can't see us doing another one anytime soon (especially with the new show) despite how much I enjoy them due to the price.

Hi! I'm new to reading and following trip reports but I've loved yours so far!

Me and my boyfriend are headed to WDW for the first time in March! Love seeing your reviews for Genie+ and abrcadabar!

You guys look like you had the best time!

Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you had a great time :) Adults-only Disney trips are so fun!!!

Ugh... that is so annoying about that rude family. Especially since you paid more to have better viewing!! I hope you have a better view in June... And you are spot on about the whole change thing :) I don't like change, especially when it comes to nostalgic things like Disney!!

I felt exactly the same way, we did a after fireworks dessert party last week and it was fine but overall a big disappointment and a one and done until they bring back a better show, #HEA, #Wishes!!

I agree totally!
I love the review of the Abracadabra bar, we need to try it one of our trips. We are staying at BC late August so it is on the list for that trip!
Such cuties! Evie and Ollie

I hope you had a great time on your trip, Caroline! Your pictures looked awesome :)

Poor Andi is probably so disappointed with the fireworks- I know that she is #teamwishes all day!!

You will really love Abracadabar! It's very calm and quiet compared to the bustling Boardwalk and the food and drinks are so yummy :)

Abracadabar was fantastic! Not sure about the beer situation (Mom and I are not big beer drinkers), but from what I see online it looks like they have some nice craft beer selections!

Thank you :) Oh my gosh, that sounds miserable!!! I went to an After Hours event in January 2020, and it was in the 30s that night as well. I wore earmuffs and gloves and I was still absolutely frigid. I remember going back to my room at the Poly that night and taking the longest, hottest shower of my life, haha!

So glad you got to stay here. It's such a beautiful resort. Jason and I stayed here when we got married (a very classy $99 affair). Only we would spend more money on our hotel than our wedding :rotfl2:

Oh I'll have to check out their menu. I hadn't heard of this place before and we are hopefully headed back to Vegas this summer.

Love this!!! I'm addicted to all things Real Housewives and Vanderpump so this is definitely on my list.

You are so right!

Make sure the master planner remembers they are free before they are 3 (even if they turn 3 while they are there) so definitely go right before the big day. We got 2 free trips in for Casey and it was great on the wallet

First, love these pictures. And second I'm so with you. I never even try anymore. My big Charlie brown head just isn't meant to have anything other than my 2 ears on it

Preach!!!! We didn't even watch Enchantment in person. We hated it online figured there was no need to endure it in person. This should have been their best show ever and Disney completely missed the nostalgia mark in favor of pushing their newer IP

 They are adorable. What a lucky aunt you are

We LOVED the Encore, the room was seriously impressive and the bed was soooo comfortable! Our only wish was that it was closer to the strip!

For sure check out Vanderpump Cocktail Garden- we loved it and the goat cheese balls were amazing! What did you think of this last season of VPR??

Where do you guys think you'll stay for your trip coming up?? I love all of the Vegas hotels and their fun theming! You DEFINITELY should see "LOVE"- I told Jake that next time we're in Vegas, I'm forcing him to go and he doesn't have a say about it ;)

YES to free before three- I've mentioned this multiple times to Haley hahaha! I'm hoping we can go sometime in May- I loved that time of year when we went for our Epic trip! And thanks for the kind words :) I love those little nuggets so much!

Following along. Love your trip reports!

Welcome! Thanks for following along!! :)

Day 3, Part 1- November 15th, 2021

Riiiiiise and shine!! We wanted to get the most out of today, so we were up EARLY! My alarm was set for 6:45 AM, and when I woke up, my mom was already in the shower. Mom is a morning person, so she wasn’t too sleepy. But it definitely took me a while to get moving!

Our plan for the day was to head to Hollywood Studios for early opening at 8:30 AM. It was going to be a very full day; we also planned to hop to Epcot and stay for Deluxe EMH from 10:00- midnight. So, we decided to get Genie + for this day. I logged on right at 7:00 AM and managed to get a LL for Slinky Dog Dash for 10:15-11:15!

Mom and I got ready and were out the door by 7:40 AM. We were entering Hollywood Studios by 8:02!

I was really excited for my Mom to see this park around the holidays. Out of all of the parks, DHS definitely has my favorite Christmas decorations!

I want little figurines/ornaments just like these!! Sooooo cute! I’ve always loved the vintage look.

Mom and I headed right over to our first ride of the day- Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! This was a must-do for Mom since she had never ridden this before. We stood in line until they let us in right at 8:30, and we were walking off the ride by 8:50 AM!

My mom LOVED this! She really enjoys rides with moving screens (total opposite of me, haha). I must say, this ride is growing on me too. When I first rode it back in August 2020, I wasn’t super impressed and I missed the Great Movie Ride. But, I really love that Mickey and the gang are getting some representation!

We decided to head on over to Toy Story Land after our ride.

The standby line for Toy Story Midway Mania read at 40 minutes. But we only waited 20, woohoo!!

I won this round :) It’s funny, my mom usually wins at Buzz Lightyear, but I always win at TSMM! She always comes close but can never edge me out! Our arms were sooo sore after this, we joked that it felt like our Pfizer booster a few weeks prior!

Alien Swirling Saucers had a standby of 35 minutes, so we hopped over there next. We were on in 20 minutes once again! We were feeling pretty accomplished this morning!

Since we had about 20 minutes until our LL for Slinky Dog Dash opened up, we decided to FaceTime Haley and the twins. They were all decked out in their Disney gear today :)

Looking back at this picture, they look so little! I love Evie’s arm rolls :)

Finally, we were able to get on Slinky Dog Dash! Mom was excited to ride this again- one of our best memories from our August 2019 trip was riding SDD during the Star Wars Fireworks!

It was a great ride as always. This coaster is so smooth! While in line, we booked another LL for Rock n Roller Coaster for 1:30 PM.

After our ride, we were in desperate need of a snack and caffeine fix. We decided to split up right outside of Toy Story Land- I headed to Neighborhood Bakery, and Mom stood in line at the Joffrey’s right next door.

The line at Joffrey’s was HUGE, but Mom really wanted some hot tea. I grabbed us each a Jack Jack Num Num cookie and a hot coffee for myself from Neighborhood Bakery!

My mom loves warm chocolate chip cookies, so I knew this would be a hit. We scarfed these down while in line at Joffrey’s! This is definitely my favorite snack in the Disney parks. It’s a perfect vacation breakfast!

Well, after a 30-minute wait at Joffrey’s, Mom reaches the front counter only to be told…

“Sorry, we are all out of hot tea.”

Mom was NOT pleased. “All hot tea??” The CM answered “Yep, all hot tea.” My mom replied, “But it says on your sign that you have a large variety of hot tea options!” CM: “Sorry ma’am, it’s never a guarantee that we will have tea anyway since this is a coffee spot.”

Mom didn’t push any farther (she is the epitome of an anti-Karen, LOL). But she was definitely deflated- I felt so bad!! I couldn’t understand for the life of me why Joffery’s line was so long and Neighborhood Bakery was dead. I mean, hello, JACK JACK NUM NUM COOKIES?!

I still needed to finish my coffee, so we strolled through Galaxy’s Edge to pass the time.

We weren’t up for riding Rise of the Resistance today (3-hour wait, heck no!) or Millenium Falcon (simulators make me queasy). Neither of us are huge Star Wars fans, so a leisurely walk through this land was good enough for today :)

It was fun watching these guys!

One of my mom’s coworkers is a mega Star Wars fan! So, my mom asked if I could take a picture of her in Galaxy’s Edge to send to her :)

We also explored the Marketplace.

Ronto Roasters smelled SOOO good, but that place has kind of scarred me for now. When I went to WDW for Kahla’s bachelorette party in February, my (very pregnant at the time) sister choked on a pork rind while eating here! I was actually hanging with @chunkymonkey and Steve during all of this and thought that she was getting sick. So, I was totally nonchalant like “Oh, pregnant Haley’s puking over there” :) If I would have known that she was choking, I would have been way more urgent! Luckily, she was fine. But super scary!

We felt pretty satisfied with Galaxy’s Edge at this point, so it was off to an old favorite!

I agree! I love all the HS decorations.

My mom LOVED this! She really enjoys rides with moving screens (total opposite of me, haha). I must say, this ride is growing on me too. I can't wait to ride this!

Adorable!

CM: “Sorry ma’am, it’s never a guarantee that we will have tea anyway since this is a coffee spot.”
Yikes! It's unfortant that they can't has something up saying when they are out of something. It is strange that they were out of all teas....
