Going in March. Fantasmic show is at 8:30pm on Wed.

Is it better to get the meal (have dining plan) and ticket or fast pass or wait and walk in?

What a FP+ for F! offers is more CHOICE in seating.

If you DO get a F! FP+, you can choose to sit in either the FP section (virtually the entire left half of the theater) or the Standby section (virtually the entire right half of the theater.)
So, whatever section has the better seating at the time you arrive, you can go there.
Without a FP, you can only choose a seat in the Standby section.

There is a very good chance that you can get a FP+ for F! as a 4th or 5th FP of the day because they issue SO MANY of them (enough to cover nearly the entire left half of the seating.) On many nights, it is possible that you can gat a FP+ for F! as you are walking to the theater.

As to when to arrive at the theater, I'd get to there 45-60 minutes before the show-time.
Even with a FP or Dining Pkg. reservation, don't wait too late.

On busy nights, the CMs can stop holding the reserved sections within 20-30 minutes before show-time, and turn over any available seats to waiting walk-in guests.

Map Below-
Arrows indicate the center of the seating.
Shaded areas:

(First or Only F! performance of the evening)

Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red= Dining Package Reserved
Blue= FP+ Reserved
Purple= Can be either FP+ or Dining Package Reserved, depending on needs.

(Second or Third F! performance of the evening)
Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red, Purple, Blue= FP+ Reserved
(Although much of the outer Blue will likely be used for Standby.)

I did the Desser Package with VIP viewing. I thought it was worth it. I was right at the center and the view was great. The food tho was regulars.

Hi, I booked a dinner package with the F! viewing. Would we be seated in the FP + reserved area?

Thanks---only 5 days to go!!!!!! :mickeyjum

You would be seated in the "Dining Package" reserved area (Red.)

We used a FP+ for it the week before Christmas in 2015 (which was also the last year of the Osborne Lights), got there 45min before the show, and ended up in the border aread between Hades/Beast. The kids loved it, but we adults were pretty disappointed with the view. So, if you are going during spring break week in March, keep in mind that if the park is really busy you might want to get in line earlier than you think, even with a fastpass.

Since you have to eat anyways (well somewhere) the dinner package is a great way to go. And the view from those seats are totally worth it.

Is it better view to be up high or lower to the ground?

That depends on where you choose to sit in theaters for other events.
The main difference at F! is that if you are in the front 8 rows, or so, if the wind is blowing
toward the seats, audience members may get hit with some overspray from the many water effects.

We love to sit close, so we have our ponchos available, if needed.

Just wondering, with the dining package, how early should we get there? Would it be remotely possible to do see the Jingle Jam before heading over to F!?

Thanks

Not a “safe” thing to try.
Some have done it, but as the busy holidays get closer, it will get less possible.

How early do you need to show up if you have the Dining package? I will be going the week after Christmas so a very busy time as well.

45-60 minutes would not be too early.
You will not be alone, by any means.

The Studio park hours are 9-8 for Wed March 7, on My Disney Experience, Fantasmic shows the time is 7pm,and Disney Park Hours shows the show at 8:30.
Any idea what time the show will be?

I'll guess that the show will be at 7PM.
That was the show time for that same week in 2017.

It did move to 8:30PM the following week in 2017.
(That would be due to the change to Daylight Saving Time.)

So, stay tuned.
