I was just looking through the Disney web site and saw that there are dates for the EMM in August! I hadn't been following the Dis as much in the past 1 1/2 weeks, since we recently got back from a trip, so I hadn't been aware that it was extended. But when I tried to book for the 2 days we will be there in August it says no availability >:(. Did I miss it and it sold out or are they not booking yet? I looked through the first few pages here and didn't see anything about it. I'm hoping I didn't miss out, but at least we did it in may if I missed in August :worried:.

You did not miss it. This happened when the first dates were released also. It's just not available for booking yet. I have an EMM planned for 6/28 and I have been checking occasionally to see if it has been extended. I also noticed something else - dates in June that were not available a couple days ago now have availability. I am wondering if they added more availability for June and the EMM from here on will be more crowded than others had been.

Yay, thank you! :worship: I hadn't been checking at all, something just made me look today after I checked and I still can't book the dessert party for the Star Wars fireworks. On a whim I thought I would look for EMM as well, just in case. I couldn't believe it when I saw the dates in blue, and was pretty disappointed when it said no availability until it occurred to me that it might just not be bookable yet. Now I have to keep checking. It was a pretty cool event 2 weeks ago, the kids loved just running to the mine train over and over, in both the front and back.

ETA - I just re-read and noticed that last part of your message. I certainly hope that isn't the case. what made it worth it to us was the lack of a line at all - after all, an hour of exclusive touring isn't that much and if you even wait 5 min for rides it won't be worth it (to us).

I just booked for June 14. If it is significantly more crowded than I expect it to be, I WILL ask for a refund! I have heard 200 at this event. I'm hoping they just held some availability back.

We're hoping for dates in October. And it looks like they are changing from Saturdays to Sundays starting in July. Hoping they keep the Tuesdays!!

Someone had posted after the first EMM that a CM indicated they would be looking to increase the capacity from 200 initially to 450. FWIW, we had a PPO BOG on an EMM day (5/17) and saw very little impact on crowds and lines at rope drop. The initial reports seemed to suggest there is plenty of capacity ride-wise. I think the constraint is breakfast, so I would still expect a good experience even with higher attendance.

It was almost empty when we went. We were the only ones on the mine train once, and never had a full train or had to wait in a line. We did wait once for one extra train because someone was waiting for the front and my son wanted to sit there. It took maybe a minute longer :-) We didn't see anyone else riding Peter Pan when we rode it twice just before 9:00.

You can just see my DH and DS in the front seat, my other DS and I sat in the very back.

Can anyone report how the crowds are at these locations at 9 am for those entering the park during an EMM? I was planning my MK day on a Sunday but it appears as though these EMM will now be on Sunday in August- don't want my morning more crowded than normal... We like to rope drop but I fear entering now while others have already been inside will make this rope drop day a waste

Just there last week. It was on one of the sold out dates, but it did not feel crowded at all. We were able to stay on Peter Pan's Flight and Pooh for as many re-rides as we wanted, as no one was waiting in their lines.

Had a wonderful time, rode the Fantasyland rides over and over, lost count of how many times who rode what (7 people of different age groups). The breakfast at Pinocchio Haus was hot, plentiful and good. We ate at 9:40 and the CMs loaded us down with lots of extra bottles of water and juice to take with us.

I got a survey from Disney today about the event. One of the questions was what we liked least about the event, one of the multiple choice answers was park felt too empty, I didn't pick that one. I did suggest that for the last hour of the event, from 9am - 10 am, that the wristband should operate as a Fastpass for any other ride in the park as the event went on until 10 am but the park opened at 9 am, so not so exclusive access from 9-10. But this did give us a huge jump on the crowds for Haunted Mansion, BTMR and Splash as we were already deep in the park by the time the first crowds stormed Main Street.

One sorta bad sorta good thing that happened during our Extra Magic Morning was that 7dmt was having problems, so they told us our special EMM wristbands would be good for the 7dmt ride until noon. Some of our party had already ridden the mine train a couple of times before it went down. So that gave us more time to ride the other rides and eat before 10am. Then those who wanted rode mine train over and over in the Fastpass line until noon. I think 2 of the boys made it to 12 times prior to noon.

One of our best vacation experiences that gave the entire group from baby to grandparents a good time. Plus we skipped lunch that day as we had really eaten well at the breakfast buffet - man, those boys can eat bacon!

We walked out of BOG before rope drop on an EMM day. We had to wait until park opening to queue up for rides since the EMM guests still had exclusive access until then. Once they let us in Peter Pan was essentially a walk on. Other than seeing a few guests with colored wrist bands I don't think you would even be able to tell there had been an event.

Josh at easywdw covered MK on a day with EMM (he attended EMM once and then did a MK rope drop on another day with EMM) and said the crowds from EMM will likely not have an impact on regular park touring.

I'm on my phone so I can't go into detail, but the short answer is it will make no difference at all as long as they don't drastically increase the numbers for the EMM. Our day was sold out and I don't think you would have even known EMM happened if you weren't previiusly aware.

I have a PPO reservation at BOG on a Sunday in August. I am now seriously considering this EMM event for that same Sunday instead of the PPO at BOG.. Plus, we are staying at the Contemporary for this portion of our trip, so the 10 minute walk takes away the stress of arriving on time. Any guesses as to when the booking for August might open up?

Thanks! I was worried with them possibly increasing numbers now to 400 that it may be a bit more noticeable

We were there the same day as you (5/17). We were the first people in the line that they set up outside BoG for the Mine Train. The CM told us that we wouldn't be let in the train queue early that day (as people often are on other days) because of the EMM. However, in the end they did walk us over around 8:45 and let us fill into the queue (EMM guests were using the FP entrance). Then they let us board around 8:55. So we still got off the ride before official park opening.
