Day 7 – Part 2

So when I last left off, I was hanging out in Harambe waiting on DD and DH to get back from riding Dinosaur. I snapped some photos while I was waiting.

DD and DH finally arrived and she got her a henna tattoo. These are temporary – only last about 10-14 days.

The girl who did it was very quick and adept. I bet her hands hurt at the end of the day.




It turned out great and DD was happy, so off we went to Everest to ride that again. DD just can’t get enough of that ride.

Day 7 – Part 3

When I last left off we were headed to ride Everest.

After that we headed over to the Yak and Yeti Counter Service for lunch.





Again – photo for reference – this place was packed and the line moved SLOW. DH snagged us a table and we all settled down to eat.

DD got the kids meal Chicken and French Fries because she doesn’t know how to eat fun food.

Chicken Strips - Includes Carrot Sticks and fresh fruit and choice of 1% Mickey Milk, Small Bottled Water or Apple Juice $6.99




She got a chocolate mousse to go with it.

This was delicious. I little bit of heat in it and I loved the crisp veggies and rice. Very enjoyable.

After that our last fast passes – for the whole trip

After that, we headed back to the resort to rotate the laundry and get some things packed up.

This was your first visit to Country Bear Jamboree? I've been known to go there by myself because my family doesn't share the love.

Hannah is quite the photographer! She certainly has an eye for it.

We were lucky enough to ride the new Soarin' twice during our January trip. I asked for front row center both times and the cm was kind enough to comply.

I've never been to Disney for the Spring Festival, but I do love Food & Wine in the fall. That's a great way to use snack credits.

Where in the mid-west are you from? I'm from Chicago originally, than the suburbs, and now Northwest Indiana, just under an hour from the city.

That allergic reaction had to be scary. I'm glad they were able to take care of you right away and you were able to get back to your day.

How is your ankle doing?

Hey Annie!! I'm so glad you are here!! Thanks so much for reading. Yes, it has been a couple of years since I have done one of these. So fun though.

OMG - it is my favorite ride EVER. We only got to do it once, I but I loved the new film!!

They is very similar now, I think. The flowers are very pretty. It has been years since we have been to F&W. I would love to go again!! With the 2017 dining plan, they have TWO snack credits per person per day. So we had to use them up!!

I was pretty shocked at how well the steroid shot worked. It really helped me get through that day and the new couple.

As good as it is going to get. I iced it a lot during the trip, but it held up really well.

Day 7 – Part 4

When I last left off – we had just returned to the resort and got some laundry done. Everyone got a shower and we took off for Beach Club



for dinner at Cape May.

My kids love this place.

I almost never do photos of spoonfuls of food on plates, but we really enjoyed our dinner. I steered VERY clear of any seafood, DD ate her weight in macaroni and we all enjoyed the desserts.

After that, DH and the kids went over to Magic Kingdom for fireworks while I stayed back at the resort to clean up and pack as much as I could. I just wasn’t in the mood for the crowds that night.

This was our last night and sadly we had our LONG drive home the following day.

We woke up the following morning and DH and I took our last walk across the skyway that connects Bay Lake Tower to the Contemporary and over to Contempo Café to use up our last credits for breakfast.

I am caught up. You know what my life has been like lately so I would read and forget to post. Sounds like you had a great trip minus a few bumps in the road. How was Cape May Buffet? We need to add one more ADR because my daughter is afraid of Ohana and Ben's peanut allergy even for breakfast, especially after hearing what happened with you. I can't blame her as his allergy is considered severe.

Yes, you have had a lot on your plate for sure.

We have never done dinner at Ohana for the same reason. The nut allergy. But we did breakfast and she was fine. She only ate the Mickey waffles though.

Cape May is a good buffet. My kids love it. It has all of the stiff kids like. Mainly macaroni. And this is good macaroni - not the Stouffers type stuff they serve at other places. DD adores the macaroni here. They have pizza, and green beans, etc. Stuff kids will eat. You have to be careful about the desserts though.

Closing Thoughts

So I’m writing this last post to wrap up this trip report.

My closing thoughts.

Texas is a LOOOONNNGGG way from Walt Disney World. I would do that drive again, but ONLY for Disney. Otherwise, I’m flying.

We loved Bay Lake Tower. We loved the location, the service, the space and the décor. Did I mention we loved the location? Location of this resort is the BEST. We would stay here again in a minute.

Weather. It was unusually cool while were there and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED it. It really made our trip so much more enjoyable while we were there.

Crowds. Crowds were pretty insane. I thought since we were going at the beginning of March instead of right around Easter that it wouldn’t be as bad. It was. I would do it again though. I love Spring Break at Disney. Plan ahead and you will be fine.

Food. We enjoyed all of our meals and especially the Flower and Garden food booths.

Besides the weird allergy attack – there isn’t a whole lot I can say that is negative about the week we stayed there.

I’m in the middle of trying to figure out when I can go back.

September is a great time to go. Right after Labor Day is great for low crowds. It is still super hot and humid though.

GREAT report! We love Bay Lake Tower also...the location is great. I think we give a slight edge to Poly only because you are close to the TTC there and a monorail ride from EPCOT also. Still walking to/from MK is nice from Bay Lake for sure.
