Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

FYI the pool has closed again. Apparently there’s a burst pipe, but they don’t know how long it’s going to be to fix it. The sign in reception says it’s for the foreseeable future. The spa and kids splash pad is still open. There’s shuttles to the Riverside pool.
That is annoying I hope they manage to fix soon - we're heading there in a month and we love a pool dip at the end of the day - having to travel by bus to a (likely) more crowded pool doesn't sound good.

I'm checking in on the 1st and will definitely let everyone know if anything happens to change. I know it was mentioned above, but the small amount of rain predicted will probably be nothing but a drop in the bucket overall. Such is life...we'll just roll with the punches!
Any river updates? My stay is far away (Aug) but I have friends going in the next week or so.

It will depend on there being sufficient sustained rainfall before the boats will be able to start running again, and currently that is not in the short term forecast. Certainly it's not looking like being in the next week or so anyway, and potentially a good bit longer. There are some storms indicated for the middle of next week, but it remains to be seen if they will be heavy enough.

There's a menu change happening at POFQ today, please be kind to the front facing cast Members. I'm still in contact with one of the chefs who handles the dietary restrictions and apparently things have been a little hairy today!

No idea actually, haven't been since early March. A quick glance shows something grotesque listed, Tachos? A bowl type thing with those potato things as a base?!

Just know the the culinary team has been stressing over the changes and there were some very obnoxious guests yesterday 😕

I see on Disney's site they list po' boys on the menu - is this new? I don't recall seeing them on the menu since 2020.

I get two slices of white bread instead of barrels.. and eggs and sausage.. so I did this last May as well.. and I ate fine.. always a way to make good out of something that we dont like.. I do feel for the chef and the people behind counters.. they should not have to take the wrath of not being nice people..

This would be a very welcome return! Last had them in 2019 and hadn’t seen them since, including late April this year.

Hi all -- just stopping in to say hello. We are going on the Wish in July and booked PO:FQ the night before so we could 1) finally get to try some beignets (our kids never wanted to hop over here) 2) try out a moderate (albeit for one night) since we've only done Poly and Pop (and Fort Wilderness cabins for me as a kid 30 years ago!) and 3) we wanted to see jazz, but apparently it won't be happening on Thursday :(

So that being said -- what is our best bet to get from PO:FQ to Poly for Trader Sam's? My thought was probably the bus to MK then monorail, because I guess the boat (if it's working) to DS then bus to Poly would be much longer correct?

Also after Trader Sam's we may head over to EPCOT for the After Hours. Excited to get in some WDW fun before our cruise!

For the trip to the Poly bus to MK. Then Monoral if you are using Disney transportation . Using Disney Springs as a transfer point does take longer.
If you decide not to do Poly, Yeeha Bob does his show at Riverside. He is there Wednesday - Saturday unless he's on vacation. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from French Quarter.
