My mom and my sister will be there Nov 10th for our girls week!

Anyway, we are all huge coffee snobs.

Can anyone tell me about the coffee makers in the rooms? We should have a pool view. Not sure if that makes a difference. I assume they are all the same. I'd just like to know about the makers so I know what kind of coffee I can bring, keurig k-cups, filters with ground coffee etc. Thanks in advance!

I think they are pod coffee makers. I already ordered and received my coffee pods to take with us. We need good coffee in the morning, and there is no easier way to rouse a sleepy head out of bed in the morning than the smell of coffee brewing( works on my sister!).

We also are in a pool view room and arrive on the 12th.

Our first stay at AKL is coming up in just 9 days!! I am super excited!

How are the buses at AKL? What is the typical length of time it takes to get to epcot, mk?

I just got back and this time the buses seemed to run better. Perhaps it was just my timing, but I got everywhere (with the exception of DTD) pretty quick. Once the bus comes it is just a short ride to MK and Epcot.

DTD the bus came quick, but stopped at Typhoon Lagoon both going to and coming form DTD. I want to say it took something like 45mins. That's longer than my daily commute. When I went back to DTD, I drove - 16 minutes from my car to when I parked.

I ordered from Amazon. I have a hard time finding the pods in stores around here- most stock the K-Cups.

I order mine from coffeerocket.com. They have a pretty decent selection of "donut shop" blends including flavors that I think are better than the joffreys that you get in the room.

So, here's my situation. My travel dates are 12/5-12/12-15. My TA is getting me a great deal on AKL (sav) or BW (STD).

Info: 2 adults, 2 kids (6,3). 5 day tix w/hopper. Main park is MK. 3 days of resort/DTD (down time).

I'm really leaning toward AKL, but have read on a few other boards that the rooms are very dark and not inviting. Bus rides are long to the parks, etc.

My first choice was WL, but not part of the deal as it's Christmas time and they have an awesome lobby.

Be honest and tell me the GOOD about AKL!nk

I don't know if you're still looking for advice. For three days of Resort time, AKL is fantastic, especially with savannah view. We've literally spent hours just sitting out and watching the animals, especially in the late afternoon, like 3-6pm. The biggest downside to us isn't the busses, it's really the evening transportation. We like Jiko and Boma, and the Mara is our favorite quick service. (SO much better than roaring forks). Bus getting to other resorts for other signatures is difficult. Unlike a MK or Epcot resort, where you have the other MK and Epcot resorts to choose from and get to easily. Also in comparison to WL, it's the same architect and also has the huge central lobby and they put up a huge tree as well.

BW has the easy access to Epcot and HS, and the other Epcot resorts. We love the atmosphere of the BW area. It's our favorite resort. (We own DVC at BWV and AKV.). No true QS place though like the others have. The BW Faq has tons of info.

WL has the easy access to MK, which you said was your primary park. That is something to take into account. Either way, they're all great places!
