Disney Wish Spa - Zero Gravity Suite

We're currently booked for the "Hydration Suite - Float on Water" spa experience for our Disney Wish sailing next month. I couldn't find much information online and I had a few questions.
  • Has anyone experienced this? Are there any reviews of it to which you could point us?
  • We're currently booked for "Float on Water" but, if I look at the available treatments today, it now only lists "Float on Air." Is the "Float on Water" not ready yet and should we expect to be re-booked?
  • Under the description, it states "Guests are required to meet with an onboard Spa Physician for a 30-minute consultation prior to booking a treatment at the Rejuvenation Spa." Is this something that we must schedule in advance? For our previous treatments, we've always just chatted with the massage therapist at the start of the appointment.

I am booked on the Float on Water as well, and noticed that the option is no longer available, but booking still showing under my plans. One blogger had reported that one of his zero gravity booking did not happen, and he only found out about it when he showed up at the spa. As a backup, I did book float on air at a slightly later time...

Yeah...so many questions about what is going on here.

I asked concierge to book us a couples villa (like one would on any of the other ships) and it looks like we were booked for the 'Hydration Float Suite.' I don't even see this as an option on any of the other days, only the Zero Gravity one. I haven't been able to find any reviews or videos or pictures or anything of these suites. I take it these are the only villa-type option on the Wish? Interestingly, the description says "Treat yourself to a private suite for one or share this transporting journey with a friend or loved one with a suite for 2." So seems like they're trying to push these as an activity for more than just couples (I remember a thread awhile ago where someone was asking if it was weird to book a villa with their adult child).

Our cruise isn't for a few months so I'm not too worried about it getting cancelled but I'm definitely very curious what this whole experience is going to be like.

For the consultation, I see an option to book a free 30 minute consultation in the app. Looking at it, it says "Meet one-on-one with a knowledgeable, onboard Rejuvenation Spa Physician to determine which nonsurgical, FDA-approved aesthetic treatment(s) will work the best for you. Available services include Dysport® Targeted Wrinkle Softener, Restylane® Facial Dermal Filler, Thermage® Skin Tightening and CoolSculpting® Fat Reduction. Your consultant can also discuss micro-needling, a cruise-friendly treatment that activates cellular regeneration to help tighten and lift the skin. Appointments for these sessions can be made after this required consultation."

So, I'm going to assume the note about the consultation being required is weird boilerplate they include on everything, but only applies if you were planning to book some additional 'aesthetic treatments'. I highly doubt that's required for the massages or suite bookings.

Thanks for posting this...I've left a voicemail with Concierge Shoreside asking about our upcoming Aug 5 cruise and Hydration Suite at 4:30pm that day. It doesn't look like they have the other suite at the same time and I don't really see any other time except maybe 3pm Castaway Cay day we could make so I may just call it a no go if it is in fact not ready yet :(

I notice this as well on my suite...and it's not even showing up under Sold Out on any of the cruise days like some of the other experiences so it truly isn't being advertised as an option for non-booked guests and those of us that are booked (I am in concierge and I have gotten no word from them that it's not available or another solution) are getting nothing from the cruise line stating it's not ready. I don't know if that's because they hope it might be ready or if they are that poorly run. That's very un-Disney in my experience :( I mean even the shore excursions they had listed as options but weren't really available concierge informed me of that and I was able to book them direct thru the vendor instead of thru Disney because they are in fact options just not thru Disney for some reason?

Oh, we have the Hydration Suite booked too and now this has me worried…

I'm on an 88 min hold with DCL to ask.....I'll post back what I hear. Concierge is closed Sundays so I left them a voicemail but I figured this would get me a response sooner.

When I looked at the tables for it online, they honestly looked like the same tables just configured slightly different. We had the float on air and had changed it to float on water, I’ll be curious what actually happens

So the final word from the Disney CM was she can't see it either as a thing to book. She said she was on one of the preview cruises and they were still doing work on the Rainforest outdoor area so one day it was closed but another it was open so it's possible there is intermittent improvements preventing them from making new bookings but maybe they are honoring the existing booking. Her suggestion was to keep the booking and let the spa work something else out with me if when I show up on embarkation day it really isn't ready. So nothing confirmed one way or the other Sigh.

Where did you see these photos? Can you share the link? I cannot find any images.

I just came off the Wish and the Hydration Suite did NOT have the special "float on water" beds, but regular massage beds. No one told us this would be the case before getting our massage, else we would have either switched to the Zero Gravity Suite or just done a regular couples massage.

We enjoyed the experience, but I'm still a bit angry over paying the price for a special experience that was not delivered.

Was the advertisement wrong, or were they just delayed? Did you complain for a discount/refund?

They said they were not available. I did complain, but I did not receive a discount or refund. Just a lot of apologies.

I admittedly did not make as huge a deal of it as I should have -- for one, I didn't want to put myself into a foul mood, and the lines for guest services were ridiculous (I did try to use the app, but was put into a waiting queue, and unfortunately for me I finally got through the queue while we were doing the sting ray excursion on Castaway Cay, which meant I lost my place in the queue and had to start all over). This is why I'm writing to guest services -- the spa and Concierge didn't help, and I couldn't get through to guest services while on the cruise.

Thanks for the update - even if it's concerning. Does anyone have a sense of if the Zero Gravity one is any better? Or if the Hydration Suite is just not finished yet?

Did you at least get a private hot tub and the other special amenities (refreshments, etc)?

We did get the foot bathing ritual, private hot tub, refreshments and fruit, and the massage, though the room was entirely indoors (doesn't have a view like on the Magic, where we did it last). The only thing we didn't get was the special table. Which is why I felt uncomfortable pushing the issue - we did get the whole other experience. The tables just weren't there.

We did not have the consultation when we did our treatment at the spa.

One thing we did not get was access to the Rainforest Retreat / Spa lounge after our treatment. We were escorted directly to our treatment and escorted out after it was done.

Now, admittedly, we were meeting our kids afterwards, so we likely wouldn't have spent much time, but I would have liked to have seen it, at least.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure this has never been a thing on DCL. At 'normal' spas I've been to, a spa treatment usually includes usage of the other facilities (steam rooms, etc) but on DCL, my experience has always been that Rainforest Room is a separate thing. One could argue that it *should* be included, but I don't think this is specific to the Wish.

Glad to hear you at least got the rest of the package. I was wondering about them being indoors...part of what made the villas on the Wonder & Magic so great was the view, so that's unfortunate. It's a bummer about the special beds too. That has to be just a delay and not the long term plan...right?

Many years ago you had use of the rainforest room for getting a spa service but it's been a long time since that was the case.
