It’s been a while since I did the Hong Kong electric Autopia, but I’m pretty sure they made car like noises when they accelerated.
Years and years ago when I lived out west for a while I worked for what was then one of the major sponsors of the NHRA, and I sometimes worked the company’s booth at a few race weekends. Clearly I enjoyed it on some level bc it was my gateway into becoming a motorsport fan but the smell and the noise was unbearable as a migraine sufferer. I learned very quickly the fumes were one of my migraine triggers. Formula E is so fun because I can actually enjoy it in person! I have only been to the race here but the events are always a great time. tbh I would love to see them sponsor Autopia or the Speedway attractions, they are trying to grow the sport and I think it would be win/win.The Formula E cars actually pack a good punch, but not enough to cause hearing damage, which is a huge bonus. We don't think about it, but not only do they pollute the air, but they also cause hearing damage. I like the Formula E sound though. Kind of reminds me of Knight Rider

As for the sound, they could just pipe it in - kind of like the crickets at Wilderness Lodge .On one hand I can see this being a needed change, but the sounds and smell are nostalgic. An eerily quiet raceway doesn’t have the same vibes to me.
I wouldn't be surprised if they have a speaker to make the appropriate sounds when driving.Plus, they aren't very race car sounding.
I also wouldn't hate if you could bump your friends who are going too slow ... horrible idea for safety, but the urge exists for me.

Crossing my fingers for it to NOT be Memorial day. Open it when I'm not there so I can have a relaxing trip lol
There’s rumored to be an opening date announcement tomorrow.
From the ramblings I’ve heard it’s more probable to be at the end of June. But it’s anyone’s guess. I need it open for my July trip. lol.Crossing my fingers for it to NOT be Memorial day. Open it when I'm not there so I can have a relaxing trip lol
I feel like the rumors are all over the place. I've seen numerous "insiders" speculate Memorial day all the way up to late June. Disneyland's version seems to be October or later. From the ramblings I’ve heard it’s more probable to be at the end of June. But it’s anyone’s guess. I need it open for my July trip. lol.
Speaking of Autopia, I know this sounds like an idea you wouldn’t like, but I really think MK's Tomorrowland Speedway should go. It’s not as fun as Disneyland’s Autopia, and doesn’t really feel like a speedway at all. Trust me, I’ve been on TLS when I visited WDW in 2013. My idea for TLS' replacement should be Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek. It would be the same ride as in Tokyo, but it would also feature characters from Monsters at Work, as well as an extra Monsters University scene.
You’re right. I just hope we get the announcement soon.I feel like the rumors are all over the place. I've seen numerous "insiders" speculate Memorial day all the way up to late June. Disneyland's version seems to be October or later.

Look, it's a beignet cart!!!I think they should just stealth drop it and say, "Ta-da! It's Open!" and do it on a day where there are no AP park reservations left. Then we can watch all the vloggers lose their minds about not being first to bring you the ride-through and merch tour.

my company car is a Rav-4 hybrid. It has a speaker under the frame that makes a sound when you are backing up or going forward when the engine isn't running so that people know you are moving. As for the sound, they could just pipe it in - kind of like the crickets at Wilderness Lodge .
We have that car. We get a lot of comments and looks about the sound it makes lolmy company car is a Rav-4 hybrid. It has a speaker under the frame that makes a sound when you are backing up or going forward when the engine isn't running so that people know you are moving.
