Restaurant Marrakesh - So glad we tried this one too! What a hidden gem this is! We will definitely go back here in the future.

hot, fresh, delicious bread
1619.jpg

our drinks, they were non-alcoholic and I can't find them listed on the menus on either allears or wdwinfo. they tasted like watermelon and were refreshing and delicious
1621.jpg

beef shish kebab with rice, meat cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful without being overly spicy
1622.jpg

lamb with couscous
1624.jpg

and of course, DH's discarded bones! (he's a real carnivore, lol)
1629.jpg

We didn't get dessert at Marrakesh because we wanted to try out the caramel shop in Germany...

...and here it is in all it's delicious, sweet glory!

1671.jpg

shrimp tempura udon - fyi, the panko on the shrimp gets soggy from being in the soup, but it's still really good!
1672.jpg

and I liked my watermelon slushy drink from Marrakesh so much that later in the evening I got another one (it wasn't EXACTLY the same as the Marrakesh one, a little more sugary but still tasty) from the drink stand in the front of the Morocco pavilion
1717.jpg

Ok, so here goes. I can't find the papers I wrote all the food on so this may be not particularily exact...but I will look it all up on all ears if possible....

First day we ate at Shades of Green for lunch after arriving. Had cookies and a pastrami sandwich. All were actually pretty good. We also had a couple of drinks because the flight was kinda rough. hahahaha... but we didn't take pictures...I just wanted to give a message because I know most people who aren't staying there don't bother with shades of green...but there deli counter was yummy.

For our first sit down meal we ate at CRT. We were on the Deluxe dining plan and there were 3 of us, so that's a TON of food. We each got an appetizer, a drink, an entree and a dessert.
DH and I both had the salmon crab cakes. I remember that they were actually pretty good.
Picture468.jpg

DBFF had the cheese tray...now I should mention we really like cheese trays, so there are a lot of them! We pretty much got one every where we could. :rotfl:
Picture469.jpg

For dinner we each got something different!
I got the pork tenderloin with mashed potatos and the mushroom ragout
Picture470.jpg
I don't normally eat pork, but the food here this time wasn't as exciting as last time, so I decided that I wanted to get something I wouldn't be getting everywhere else. Plus we wanted to get different stuff as much as possible so we could try more! hahahaha.... It wasn't bad.

DH got the lamb chops with the scalloped potatoes and a veggi ragout
Picture471.jpg
He actually said the lamb was cooked really well but the potatoes could have had more flavor.

DBFF had the chicken with broccolini and the mac and cheese.
Picture472.jpg

The chicken was a little dry and the flavor was kinda meh...that's the best way we can put it. The mac and cheese wasn't anything to write home about. We always get it at Jiko and maybe that spoiled us but this was more like kraft with extra cheese.:crazy2: The broccolini was good though.

Finally, DESSERTS! hahahaha...
I had the toffee creme brulee.
Picture480.jpg

you can tell how small it was when the spoon is in it. But with all the food we had that wasn't neccessarily a bad thing. It was also a pretty darn good creme brulee with a good toffee flavor.

DBFF had a chocolate mousse with a fruit sauce and a chocolate sauce I believe.
Picture481.jpg
She said it was tasty but really chocolatey and only took a bit or so. DH tried it too. He is the chocolate lover in our family and he said this was VERY rich. But lite which was good. They also gave DBFF a cupcake for her bday. It was the typical white cupcake they give. It was sweet... but we aren't major sweets people.
Picture482.jpg

DH had the sorbet. It was yummy and not too sweet.
Picture483.jpg
I liked that it had some fruit on it.

All in all, this place is more about the experience than the food for me. But the lavender chicken I had the first time I went I have been trying to replicate for 4 years with out success...So I am gonna say hit or miss?

I have to say...the first time we ate here we had major issues with the servers and management. That was however way back in 2008 before Disney was apparently in charge. The food was good even then...Good enough that we went back to try it again even with the terrible service! ;)

These are from August 2010 but it appears the menu is very similar.

First off the drinks: I am guessing on these based off what it looks like and our normal tastes.

DBFF and I both had what I believe was the Big Bamboo - Malibu coconut rum, Bacardi light rum, DeKuyper banana liqueur, and tropical fruit juices.
Picture532.jpg

DH had a beer. his usual is a shock top.
Picture533.jpg

For appetizers we had
Seared Ahi Tuna - chilled, sesame-encrusted ahi tuna, wasabi aioli, and sweet chili slaw $11.99
Picture535.jpg
This was mine! I love a good seared tuna and this was YUMMY.

DH had Pork Pot Stickers - pan seared or steamed, soy lime dipping sauce $8.99 His were pan seared and good.
Picture537.jpg

DBFF had Lettuce Cups for Two - minced chicken breast, chopped vegetables, maple tamarind sauce, crisp lettuce cups $13.99 Yet again yummy!
Picture536.jpg

Entrees:
DBFF had Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp - skirt steak, tempura-battered shrimp, jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables, chili plum dipping sauce $25.99
Picture542.jpg
She doesn't normally like shrimp but she actually really liked this. Disney was awesome because it helped her branch out her food choices because she knew there was plenty of food if she didn't like something and it was already paid for...hahahaha
DH had Duck with Anandapur Glaze - roasted half duckling, orange wasabi glaze, jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables $23.99
Picture539.jpg

I had MalAsian Seafood Curry - Mahi Mahi, scallops, little neck clams, mussels, shrimp, zucchini, roma tomatoes, red curry coconut broth, and jasmine rice $22.99
Picture540.jpg

Dessert:
We really like the Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle $7.99 so we actually got 2 orders of it.
Picture547.jpg

We also ordered Mango Pie - shortbread cookie crust, fresh whipped cream, raspberry sauce $6.99
Picture546.jpg

I realized part way through here that I was kinda doing a mini review...probably not fun with your food porn...sorry.

One place I really was excited to try this trip was Columbia Harbor House. And darnit, I forgot to take pictures there! I had the fried fish basket and it was REALLY good! Didn't taste or smell fishy, and was nice and crispy (not greasy at all). Oh well, next time!

Here are pictures that I DID remember to take (LOL)

Sorry this one is really hard to see, it was dark outside and my flash is a little slow. We were waiting for wishes in fantasyland, and I didn't realize that most QS places close prior to park closing (my fault, I didn't look at the times guide) so the only place open was Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland. I never would have gone there but I was starving, and out of desperation I ended up with chicken noodle soup. It turned out to be really good AND had mickey-shaped noodles! Lots of veggies and white-meat chicken. As far as chicken noodle soup goes, this is a good one, I'd definitely go back and get this again!
