That's what I felt like saying to several grown adults today.

I went shopping to 2 malls today,and while in the car,I would take my wig off.
Hey,they're hot,sticky,and sweaty.
Verrry uncomfortable.
But every car and person we passed,they would just stare.

Just because I have no hair doesn't make me any different.
So just stop staring and leave me alone.

Last night Iwas watch EM:HE, and the girl was suffering cancer.
Even without hair, she was one of the most adorable kids I had ever seen.

aww, sorry to hear... and yea, people can be really rude.. alternatives to wigs can be bandannas or hats if you really do need to feel any security..theyre much more comfortable and still hide your head... although, i think youll be great with or without anything on your head.. you never should have to feel like you need to "hide" something

schmitty, let me ask you have you ever had anything about you that your were self consious about. Well for a young teen girl I can only imagine one of those things is have hair on their head. And as of right now Sonya has no choice in the matter to be bald or not. People should have some common curtiosy to understand how she must be feeling and what she must be going through when they stare. Sonya is just an average teen who got a bum steer with this Cancer and from what I have read from her posts in the past she is a survivor, but these things are just the things that can bring people down and that is certainly what she doesn't need at this point.

A great big hug for our family to you! I have had 4 family members suffer through cancer. Be strong!!!! You have many good days ahead! Positive thinking can make a difference! Don't let rude people bring you down. Their mom's just didn't teach them to be polite.
