If you purchase the DDP can you still use your points for the Character Dining ?

Yes. Most of the character meals are 1 TS. CRT is 2 TS. Just be careful when you are using the DDP vs DxDP for these to make sure you are getting the most value from the plan. Below are the figures I use for each plan to guide me when choosing meals.

On the DDP, your cost breakdown is about: QS=$15, TS=$35, S=$4 based on 2012 prices.
On the DxDP, your cost breakdown is about: each TS=$25, each S=$4 based on 2012 prices

Make sure that each character buffet for DDP that you visit is more than $35. If you get the DxDP, it's very easy to find char buffets that are more than $25. If you want to do CRT, you will really need to evaluate if it would cost you $70 OOP to see if you were losing money using the plan.
