My husband was so relieved to finally pull into port so the rocking would stop. We awoke to threatening skies, but we didn't want to miss the opportunity to see Nassau, so we had breakfast in Parrot Cay, put the kids in their clubs, and got off the ship around 9am. I really wanted the kids to go with us, but with the bad weather and the extra taxi expense, I thought they'd be better off in the clubs. I was hoping they'd make some new friends and enjoy the activities. About the time we stepped off, the skies really opened up and it downpoured. We trudged on with our umbrellas and splashed through puddles until we found the main location for taxi service. After waiting 15 min. for the lady to gather up more people, she left and came back with a van and we were on our way. It's very hectic and confusing there. A lot of vehicles and people trying to get your business. The heavy rains and lightning only added to the confusion. She said it was a tropical depression. It was hard to get a good picture of Atlantis because once we arrived, the views gone. We wondered in and looked at the aquariums, which are located behind the open restaurant past the lobby. You can see several without paying. We then went on to the casino. My parents just found a spot in the lobby and people watched and my husband and I played a few slots. On my 3rd quarter I won $7.50 and stopped. Not much of a risk taker. At least I'd won our taxi fare there back. We tried to see some of the pool area, but they have someone guarding all exits that lead out, so it was a bust. We found another taxi out and were back on the ship by 1pm or so and had lunch on BBB. I was glad I didn't book exursions. The weather was terrible and I figured the people that did were pretty miserable, knowing that it usually goes on no matter. The kids had been trying to page us, but it doesn't work from Nassau, so they were ready to go. They had eaten lunch with the club and the page reached us in the restaurant, so we went and brought them back up to the restaurant. The skies were clearing somewhat, so we went up to the pool. That was probably their favorite part along with the deck parties and dancing. I wanted to enjoy the free ice cream, chicken fingers, etc.. but I was always so full. I decided that the next day, I'd skip the big buffet lunch and eat the pool food. After the pool scene, we got ready for dinner at Animators. It was a fun atmosphere and the food was great as usual. I usually tried the servers recommendations and then we'd all try each others dishes as well. I think I had the key lime pie for dessert that night and it was very good. After dinner, I wanted to let the girls see Nassau, so we got off the ship, walked down to the main area and that was it. I wanted to get their hair braided, but it was getting dark and few people were around. They were able to see Atlantis in the distance. After watching the MaryKate and Ashley movie, I wanted them to see it. We did get a good picture of the ship all lit up at night. The Tropical Deck party started at 10, with a Family pre-deck party at 9:30. I had planned on letting the kids join us for that and taking them to their clubs so we could have some adult fun, but actually, the entire evening was more kid-oriented. They passed out hula-hoops and all the kids were in the front as the Charles Marshall band sang again. It was still a good time, just not what I expected as the little ones were up til midnight too. They did offer a fruit and desset buffet on deck that was fun. 2 days gone and I felt like I was rushing through everything. Sandwiched between the bigger events was browsing the souvenir shops, character greetings, and Shutters checks. I hoped the next 2 days would be much more relaxing!;)
