Planning a trip for next August 2011 and we are looking at the week before school starts here which would be the equivilent of last week...what were the crowds like? Were they as high as the rest of the summer or had they started to go down some because of other regions who had already started school??

Thanks for posting. Would love to hear anything about last week from people who were there.

We were there August 7-13th and found the crowds to be manageable. We hit rope drop every morning, used fastpasses for the major attractions, used EMH's, took a resort break in the afternoon and then stayed until closing. Our longest wait for anything was 25 minutes for Astro Orbiter during evening EMH. We rode all the popular rides several times... we would do the same week again next year.

Not bad at all. We use FPs, get to parks before ropedrop, have a plan (TourGuideMike) and do not use EMHs. I don't think we waited for more than 15 minutes for anything from Aug 8-12. Seriously. Soarin' with FP took that long because the "b" concourse wasn't in use on the right side so loading took longer than usual.

Ditto. We were there 1-15 August and by being at the parks by rope drop were able to ride the most popular rides with FPs or little wait. We'd choose our top two rides each morning, DH would head off to one for FPs while the children & I headed to the other to wait for him. Last Friday at AK was particularly great (until the thunderstorm hit late afternoon!) - twice on Primeval Whirl, twice on Dinosaur, three times on EE and the Safari all before 11:00.

bump! would love to hear more from ppl who were there last week... I'm heading out tomorrow :banana::banana:

We were there last week (Aug 11-15), and agree that the crowds were very manageable in the early morning after rope drop. By mid-afternoon, the lines for the most popular attractions (Toy Story Mania, Soarin') was near 90 minutes with no fast passes remaining.

We were in the Magic Kingdom several of the evenings and most of the lines in the later hours of the evening were manageable (15-30 minutes), although Space Mountain typically had a 45-60 minute wait even during the Electrical Parade showings. The fact that the queue was totally inside during the ultra-humid evenings likely was a factor in our view!
