Craziest VIP Experience

Okay, so I have one more. Hee hee…

Just before Covid the Russo’s and Tom Holland were in town filming Cherry. I got to attend a private cocktail party with them. Tom Holland could not have been a better dude. We talked football (he’s a Spurs fan) and he made fun of how much they CGI him for Spider-Man.

Nothing really. A few times I randomly got a Club 33 (25%) discount at Disneyland. I don't believe they'll accept that receipt as proof of membership though.

I've been in a luxury suite before for the NBA, pro tennis, NFL, and MLB. Frankly - for a night game at Candlestick, being inside was far preferable.

Wasn't the best seat I've had before though. I've had some great general admission seating in the student section. Once I went to a college game where the students were out and anyone with a ticket could be in the (premium location) student section right on the floor. Another time I went to see a college game in Oakland where I bought a ticket from a "scalper" in the parking lot. Really just $25 for an $18 face value, but I was literally sitting at floor level in the 3rd row.

I traveled to India as the guest of the maharajah of Jaipur when my professor was asked to work on an archaeological dig at one of his palaces.
Got to attend a party with award winning steel drummers at the home of the President of Trinidad and Tobago.
VIP meal at L’Arpege in Paris with a special tour of the kitchens and met the chef.

Friend works for a show that Elvis Costello was going to be on. So he was able to bring me and my brother in when he was rehearsing for the show. We were the only two people in the stands so basically Elvis just looked at us the whole time while he played. It was strange but still awesome.
Only Disney experience was in Itlay in Epcot. We were eating in restaurant, when they asked someone to stand up and sign opera. She was really good,, but I know nothing about opera. It might have been special moment I have no idea. I mean she really seemed good I just have no idea was going to ask waiter but I think I forgot.

I don't know about VIP experiences but I've met a bunch of people because of a job I had when I was in college. The strangest thing was sharing an illegal substance with Rick James and 3 of the Mary Jane girls with a friend of mine ..it was just the 6 of us. I was never really into that stuff but I wasn't going to say no

Back in '09 at WDW's Grade Nite we were the guests of a celebrity that my DD was childhood friends with. We were invited backstage and met many celebs like Katy Perry who was performing. We were able to be in the corral with all the performers and in the entourage surrounded by Security when going from location to location within Hollywood Studios. We also got to spend time after hours on the streets of New York at HS for a private party. Next day we were on a VIP tour of the parks and got to the front of the lines on all the rides (through back doors). Traveled by van from park to park via cast only roads. Also had dinner in one of the suites at the very top of the Contemporary. It was truly a wonderful experience for a Disney lover like me. My DD has had many, many VIP experiences with this person like a few times to the Super Bowl, a week long private yacht vacation, a trip to Egypt, Rome and a few other places.

Man alive. It’s true what they say: it pays to know Andy Williams.

I saw the Foo Fighters at the Cubby Bear in Chicago with a couple hundred people. Saw them at Metro (small venue) another year - the same day as my gallbladder surgery - I wasn't going to miss that!
A ten minute meet and greet with Rod Stewart.
Hung out backstage with the Foo Fighters once as well in Milwaukee.
Suites for Rolling Stones, James Taylor, Pearl Jam, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Prince etc.
Was in Vegas for I Heart Radio Show and got to watch Justin Timberlake rehearse - only about 10 people in the venue watching him run through his show at about 1pm in the afternoon,
Feb 2020 had a VIP tour at Hollywood Studios - didnt have to stand in line for any of the new Star Wars stuff - highly recommend!
And I once spent a weekend at Justine Bateman's (from Family Ties) house - friend of a friend.

My entire life is crazy.

I’ve been very lucky.
I’m retired but my prior employer a major global consulting firm once rented out Universal one night just for partners. It was great.

I bought a long weekend in Napa valley at a charity auction that included a 10 hour limo trip around Napa for wine tasting, the wine train, a great hotel etc. it was so much fun.

Whee I was working and traveling a lot, I got upgraded all the time to first class on planes and to the concierge floor in many hotels. I once shared the concierge breakfast room with Bill Murray, dressed in a bathrobe with his hair sticking straight up.

when my husband and I were driving a car on the Amalfi coast years ago, our travel agent booked us into the San Caterina hotel in the town of Amalfi. We got to the hotel and were by the manager who escorted us down an elevator to an orange tree and lemon tree filled grotto that led us to a cottage hanging off a cliff overlooking the sea with windows overlooking the Med sea and a terrace filled with lemon and orange trees. For some reason we got upgraded. Julia roberts and Hillary Clinton had stayed there before.

I did a vip tour at Disneyland arranged by a club 33 member. We had the guide all day. Highlights were rode in the Lilybelle and got to tour the dream suite there over pirates and the kids got to pilot the mark twain riverboat. They also got us a reservation at club 33 for lunch. It was awesome!!
We were there in 2008, year of a million dreams, and was so hoping to get picked to stay in the dream suite. I'd definitely consider paying a premium to stay there but I understand it will be converted in the future for some other purpose.

DH was running an event when President Bush (W) was speaking. He got to spend quite a bit of time with him. He said he's a great guy!

Not really as VIP as a lot of these, but we did go on a Breathless fireworks cruise. We also went to a Disney resort exclusive after hours event back when they were a bargain. Seemed like we were the only ones in the park. We went to the Disneyland Fantasmic Balcony Dessert Party, very few tickets were available each night.

Another experience that wasn't really VIP, but felt like it, was a Hawaii hopper flight in a 9 passenger plane. The pilot was in one seat, with someone next to him. There was another couple and my family of 5.

When I was about seven me and a group of friends (and our mothers) went to go see a Shania Twain concert and one of my friend's moms pointed out one of her staff walking around the venue and he overheard her, came over to start chatting with us, and then brought us all backstage to meet her before the concert

A number of years ago we were on a WDW and Universal week long trip. During the Universal part we had lunch at the Hard Rock. After lunch we were walking around looking at the Beatles memorabilia. A guy walks up and starts talking to us about the Beatles-- DH is a big fan. He then asks if we want a behind the scenes tour. He took us up to the 'green room' suite where acts hang out before preforming. The room is a replica of John and Yoko's apartment. There was a grand piano in the room where acts that had been there had signed the white keys.

Another trip we to WDW at Christmas we were having lunch at Tusker House and were deciding what we wanted to do the rest of the day. We had done everything at AK we wanted to do and were thinking about heading back to the resort. A CM came up to us and started chatting (not a Tusker House CM). He then asked if we had plans for the afternoon, we said no. He asked if we wanted to right on a float in the parade that afternoon. Of course we said yes!
