THE DREADED ROOM BLOCK...
Was NOT as horrible as one might think if you have a decisive DF. We did it the night before it was supposed to be sent to our Disney Consultant, of course. We started to just play around with where we would be staying first... but I could not make up my mind about where I wanted to stay. So we moved onto the guests. The easiest way to do this is to go through each and every one of your guests and ask yourself two question... 1. Will they stay on property? 2. Do they have the money to spend on a nicer hotel/will they care?
After that, you just plug them into the value and moderate resort. We decided that we could add rooms at anytime and we were only going to reserve up to two nights per family/guest so we wouldnt go overboard. We reserved the night before our wedding and the night of our wedding for the guests.
We definitely knew we would have at least ten nights between us and our guests, so it wouldnt be an issue getting the complimentary night.
Value
We picked the All Stars Sports Resort because it was Matt's favorite when he was younger. It will be $105 a night which is AMAZING! We love off-peak season.
Moderate
We did some research on this and ended up going with the Port Orleans Resort-French quarter. I have personally never stayed their but have visited the resort a few times and I love the ambiance. I feel as if our guests will love it too! It will be around $200 a night.
Deluxe
We figured that we would be the only one's staying at the Deluxe resorts, so this should have been the easiest decision, but it was the HARDEST! I am so indecisive that I couldn't pick beween the Contemporary or the Beach Club Resort (I would have picked Grand Floridian or the Boardwalk, but we are on a budget) The Contemporary used to be my favorite as a child because of the monorail that passes through but Matt did not like how outdated it looked, but you can not beat the location! And Matt really wanted Beach Club because of the setting and how gorgeous it is. Luckily I came up with a brilliant plan! Since we were arriving at Disney on Saturday and staying til that following Sunday. I decided to split the time spent between places. We are staying at the Contemporary Resort Saturday til Monday and The Beach club resort Tuesday til Sunday.
I mean, how do you choose?
So for our one complimentary night, Matt told me I should use it for the night before our wedding at the Grand Floridian, so I will be right there and will not have to travel to get to the ceremony. Of course this make sense, but I would have loved to share the experience with him. Unfortunately, it will make the most sense to have it as my "Get ready to be married" room.
Um Can we just stay here all 9 days? PLEASEEEE
It's by far the best resort, hence why it's the most expensive. Sigh... one day.
We have just received our Letter of Agreement today, so its very real as we put down the $4000 deposit.
No going back now!
Until next time, Have a Magical day!
