While in Magic Kingdom today I was explaining to wife about mickeys Christmas party and that's why it was closing at 7pm and she said could you not stay in just watch the parade and it got me thinking. I know your stopped from going on rides and in shops but are you challenged for wrist bands just walking around? Are you escorted out or politely asked to leave? Just curios

Yeah i wander the same thing.. with thousands of people there, how do they know who has a ticket for the party..

You are not allowed to stay, and I have seen many people escorted out, some of them very unhappy, some of them quite belligerent.

Yea there will be CM's throughout the entire park checking for wristbands for party members. It's an exclusive ticketed event so it would not be fair to those paying for those without a ticket to be in the park as well.

Once it hits 7pm you'll see CM's in different areas in the park checking wristbands, store entrances, etc. Those without a wristband can't do anything but be escorted out of the park without stopping for anything.

You know how much people pay for those tickets? No you can't stay. Why should you get to watch the parade for free when others are paying upwards to $100 per person?

The main perk of the party is the parade, fireworks and seeing special guests - all visible to non-paying guests if they let them stay. SO out of fairness to those paying they need to get you out. The reason the first parade is now later is give them more time to get non-paying-who-are-straggling guests out.

- Parties are heavily staffed with CMs and Management.
- Party goers get special party/colored wristbands they must wear and show.
- At 7 pm you will be asked over and over to raise your right arm and show your wristband.
- Each land will have blockades of CMs who will ask for your band or turn you around.
- Try to avoid them, yes they will run after you (saw it at MNSSHP) and turn you around.
- The only direction you can walk is towards the exit.
- You will not be permitted to ride the rides, go in the stores, buy a coke, eat or even use the bathrooms.
- Yup they put CMs at the bathrooms to keep folks from going in and hiding.
- Yup I've seen them absolutely refuse guests in bathroom even though they begged.
- Sit or be near parade they will be check over and over for wristband.
- If you appear to be trying to circumvent or refuse to walk towards the gate you will be escorted.
- So around 7 if you are still there you will be politely asked to go towards gate and leave.
- If it gets much later and you are trying to stay you will be escorted out.

I knew it was ticket only was just very curios about how it was inforced and it seems very forceable, not even a pee allowed haha, but of course this is right the price people are paying. On this holiday I have noted a lot of people not really getting it, like fastpass plus etc so imagine a lot would just not know it has turned into a ticket only event.

You seem very angry about this, you do realise I was only asking as I was interested in practical side of how the park deals with it not that I was trying to get advice on here and then go away and plan how to do it in the future like I was planning a murder. Thanks for the second part of post all seems very reasonable although the bit about cm's standing watching people in restroom seems a tad over the top!

A few years ago I was at a party... can't remember if it was Halloween or Christmas. I was at the urinal, with situation in hand. A cast member came in and demanded I show my band. Yes, while relieving myself I needed to transfer the unspoken item to the other hand so I could raise my hand.

I was truly PO'd, and I complained. That was over the line IMO.

Haha wow

Surely as you exit the restroom would be enough , if you want to spend the party ticketless in a loo you hardly going have a great night and pretty smelly one

We were at the 1st party on the 7th (as a paying ticketed guest) and we were not asked even once to show our bracelets. I was actually surprised about this as I had read before that they had CMs all over enforcing this. We rode rides, used the bathroom, met the 7Ds, got snacks, and not once was asked to see our bracelets which were often under our long sleeves/sweatshirts. The price of the event is a lot of money and oddly I would have welcomed being asked over and over again!

Not angry - guests pay hefty price to go to the party which is mainly a special parade and fireworks. YOU said your wife was asking about staying to watch the parade without tickets. It's a pay for event, if you don't pay you can't stay. I guess I just don't get how it's even a question - so it does come off as how it can be done question.

CMs don't watch people in the restroom ... they don't let them enter to begin with. They block the entrance to anyone without a party wristband. They will tell you there is a bathroom just outside the front gate you can use. Because so many guests have tried to hide out in the bathrooms until the first parade ... it is just easier to not let them go in to begin with.

I was at one of the last Halloween parties this year (October 30th) and I must have been asked 20 times in the first hour plus to show my wristband - and I had on short sleeves so assume many other times they were able to spot and not ask. Once we got past the first parade they stopped asking.

Many people who ask this question are trying to find ways to stay without paying.

Well believe it not I was only asking to find out how the park deals with it as it must be a big operation and interesting one but even if I was planning to stay ( which I am not) it's obvous it would be a fruitless task.

I imagine that nobody thinks their have a right to stay without a ticket but a few want to try it on and most really are obvous that the normal park hours are over, some people live in dream world on holiday.

I have gone to 2 Christmas parties every year since 2001. This has been our experience MANY times....

CMs, when they see a guest without a wristband, ask guests to leave, but I have never seen anybody forced out of the park. They are indeed pointed to the exit and reminded that it is a hard-ticket event that they must have a ticket to stay, but nobody is walked to the exit and made to leave the park.

CMs will check for a wristband for attraction entrance and to purchase party merchandise, but I have seen many a guest buy non-event merchandise without a wristband on. I guess Disney allows them to stay of making money. :/

I have sat next to people during parades and fireworks that do not have a ticket/wristband. They giggled and bragged about how they may not be able to get on rides, but they still get to watch "the shows". I have asked them how they are avoiding CMs and usually the response is the same..... "we are asked to leave and we act like we are headed to the exit and then we stay in the park." I have to say, this particular thing I have not experienced since 2014, however.

We have been at an attraction entrance where the CM is telling the guest they cannot go in without a wristband and after the CM is tired of trying to communicate with the "guest that cannot speak English", they let them into the attraction. Not always, but we have seen it several handfuls of times.

28 parties and I have NEVER seen a single guest actually escorted from the park. Pointed to the exit and asked to leave, yes, many times, but escorted to the gate and watching them leave, no.
