Celebrity Sightings

We had dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and sat next to Maria Carey a couple years ago. She was mostly surrounded by staff and managers all night. Word must have gotten out as lot of people went out of their way to walk by (we were at tables near the back) but nobody stopped to bother her.

I didn't see her, but heard some CM's at Peter Pan talking about Courtney Cox and her daughter were riding. Some people in front of us in the line were not very happy they had to wait longer because apparently she was riding alone. While it only made our wait 5 minutes longer, it was kinda a pain. But, if I had the money to get my DS front of the line access, I would! :)

I heard that Rick Ross was seen at the Magic Kingdom in the last couple of days.

Alfonso Ribeiro, Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel Air. He was with a VIP tour group waiting to get into Soarin' at DCA.

Robin Williams and his family sat behind DH and I on The Great Movie Ride when we were on our honeymoon. His son talked my ear off about all they had done and seen on their vacation. He did impressions of all the movies during the ride so I felt like i was getting my own private show. He was very nice and quite humble when the crowd started screaming during the movie when his "Good Morning Vietnam" clip played. I've always loved that memory but now it makes me a bit sad for obvious reasons.

Such a great memory to have though. :sad1:

A few years back, my extended family was at Disney World. It's a long story but I ended up at Epcot while everyone else was at what is now The Studios waiting for me for dinner at the Sci Fi Dine In. They were there earlier than the time, I was running late so they had opportunity to sit outside and wait for me.

When I got there, my son said "Steven Tyler is in there!". We all figured he'd be hunkered down with his family (at-the-time wife and son and then years later, we realized that other dude was another member of Aerosmith) in some safe corner. No big deal but I was thrilled the others got to see a famous face.

We went into the restaurant, sat for just a bit, and then were called for our table. We were led down that hallway to the cars with me in front, husband behind me, son behind him, then mother-in-law, brother-in-law and father-in-law. Just as we were going past the restrooms, a man and his son came around the corner and our guiding Cast Member moved out of the way. I didn't realize what was happening and almost bumped into - yep, Steven Tyler. I excused myself and moved aside so he and his son could use the restrooms.

I looked back at my son, whose mouth had dropped open and mouthed "what the $&(% was that?!) I think my husband had to put his mind back into order to continue on. Once we got seated in our car, myself, my husband and my son were all "OH MY GOD!!!!!". The in-law's? "Who is Steven Tyler?"

A bit later, Mr. Tyler and his son were seated back in their car just four down from us with the then-wife and the other member of Aerosmith. No one else. And no one bothered them, no one took pictures of them, no one was told not to look at them. They were just another family having a meal at Sci-Fi.

Passed the Rock and family coming out of small world. Saw Vanessa Williams at the akl where she and her family were staying during the holidays and we were too. I was sitting on a bench and pat Sajak came out a door and we exchanged greetings, he was so nice and pleasant. Saw john stamose waiting at the bathroom for his wife to come out (Rebecca roman).

We had the same touring plan as Tim Duncan last month! I saw him 2 nights late at MK (like 2AM) and one day at AK. DH was finally with me at AK and said he was with Brook Lopez and some other guy. You can tell by the white shirted CMs escorting them around (oh and the fact they were 7 feet tall). I also saw the guy from Pawn Stars at Fulton's that trip (had to look it up Rick Harrison).

I sat behind Neil Patrick Harris on Pirates at DL. It was around the time he was touring in Rent, so like 1997 maybe?

We rode in the elevator at the DL Hotel in 1989 with the guy who played Bo Buchanan on One Life to Live, Robert Woods.

In 2007 we were at the yacht club at the time there were a number of democratic candidates were running for president were debating there. No, we did not see Hillary but we did see Dennis kosinich with his wife at the boardwalk.

A better one, we did see Samantha brown filming at Epcot in November 2010, our 20th anniversary. I was able to talk to her even though they were filming and we were able to get a picture of her. That was awesome.

That is not Samuel L. Jackson.
Well, if he wasn't he sure had a lot of people fooled including the Disney employees. He was not standing out with all us regular folks, he was behind the rope with security type people and a large group of folks including some Disney people. He came closer to the rope and talked to a couple of families.

I saw Larry Miller at the buffet at the Grand Floridian many years ago. He said hello to me. He was just there eating like everyone else. I didn't know his name at the time, but I recognized him.

I'm not saying he isn't a VIP, just that he isn't Samuel L. Jackson. He doesn't look anything like SLJ.

What an amazing memory! :goodvibes

Our family has seen several celebrities over the years and some of the more memorable encounters have been:

Edward James Olmos - stuck in a ride vehicle in the loading area of Space Mountain.
Joe Perry (Aerosmith) - with his family in the hot tub at the BWV
Penny Marshall - dining in the Grand Floridian Cafe
All of NSYNC - at the Disney/MGM Studios
Ray Liotta - in the line next to us at Tusker House waiting to order food.
And my DD's all time favorite: Geir Ness, the creator of Laila perfume, in the Norway gift shop.

Vanna White two years ago while filming a WOF promo at DHS.

Too funny! Did she have a private tour guide or security or anything? She's a quasi-celebrity but I wonder how people like that know about ADRs and if she actually made them :lmao:

It was a fairly large group and I had no idea who any of them were so she might have had security. I really didn't pay them too much attention. The character attendant who originally pointed her out had absolutely nothing nice to say about her or her group and I didn't even ask anything about them lol It was like he just needed to vent to someone about how much he disliked them. It was funny and horrifying at the same time.
