BBB age limit?

I once sent DS off on a Disney pirate voyage which only allowed kids. I was a little jealous but I also knew that he was excited to be off on an adventure on his own. I just browsed around the Grand Floridian while he was gone and it was actually kind of refreshing. :)

People always worry about what could be next. Maybe nothing.

Call me pessimistic :) I'm not loving many of the decisions that have been taken by Disney execs lately, so I tend to expect the worst. Since I'm a big kid, I really don't want WDW to change too much and start treating adults like second-rate guests.

I believe there's also a "My Disney Princess" tea that is for little girls only. Maybe the difference with BBB is that, for the cruise and for the tea, adults were never allowed.

much like sitting on Santa's lap at the mall.

You realize you're going to make Santa reaaaaaaaallly sad, right ?
Ok well maybe not if I was the one sitting on his lap, but we can always switch.

They never should have been allowed in the BBB. My guess is that no one realized there would be a need to set an upper age limit because they assumed that adult women wouldn't be interested in it.

Honestly, I'd be disappointed and annoyed if I made an appointment for my daughter when she turned 3, and she was in there with a group of older teens or adult women. Part of the magic of the BBB is that *many* of these girls really do believe in princesses, in fairy godmothers, etc. If you have adult women and teens in there, the atmosphere is just not going to be the same. I think the element of magic is kept alive when the kids are among other kids. I'm not saying all teens and grown women are obnoxious, but we all know darn well that many of them are. Myself included. ;) If I went to BBB with a group of my friends, we wouldn't be sitting there politely and quietly. That's why I'm glad there's a rule to keep hoodlums like me out. :lmao: I loved accompanying my 5-year old on our last trip, and I was very well-behaved...but I had no desire to climb into a chair and have glitter sprayed all over me.

Why, because little princesses can't stand to see an adult having silly fun ?

They were allowed in BBB for years and there was no issue until someone realized that it was costing them money.

If adults/teens were being obnoxious, they should have been escorted out. I've yet to read any review where a child was scarred by an adult at BBB. Isn't it special enough to be sitting on your very own throne in your $200 polyester gown and have somebody apply apple green eyeshadow on you?

I couldn't agree with you more.
I also never read negative comments here about adults who would do BBB or anyone saying how stupid they looked doing it until this age restriction was announced. All of a sudden so many are on the "oh those adults look ridiculous anyway" bandwagon.
I personally enjoy people watching while I'm at Disney World and I get a kick out of how kids and adults dress up and do their hair and makeup in the spirit of Disney. It never once crossed my mind that any of those adults we're being ridiculous. They were having fun.
I don't necessarily think people who go to BBB look ridiculous. Uncomfortable, yes. I do find the idea of paying those prices for something that you can do yourself ridiculous though.

Okay, please don't flame me...but let me give my 2 cents here. I am 36 years old and I have a pre-existing appointment at BBB for 11/29. I'm going with my neice who is a little over 3. We weren't sure if she would sit for someone to do her hair and nails, so...Aunt Heather is going to have it done with her. Many of you on here are making it seem like it's such a bad thing for an older woman to want do this, but here it is...I have a Husband and 2 BOYS! No girls in my household. I've never been made to feel like a queen or a princess...more like a maid, a cook, a nurse, a laundry machine..well you get the point. If the end result of spending quality time with my neice at my FAVORITE PLACE IN THE WORLD is going to be some glitter, a sash and some funky colored hair extensions...that's my choice....NOT YOURS! I'm excited and honestly, it's what I'm looking forward to most out of this family reunion trip. That's what makes Disney so great....I'm 36 and for one day in my life, I get to be a princess. You may not agree with it and you might think I look ridiculous, but please don't rain on my parade!

I hope you have a great time!
I support your inner princess 100%!
It's your post that makes me wonder how anyone could get upset or offended that an adult would want to participate in a completely innocent and fun thing like BBB.

How very fortunate for you that you got in under the wire. Take lots of pictures.
:tink: I hope you and your niece have a wonderful time.

I'll be the first to admit that I find it incomprehensible that adults WANT to stand in line to get characters' autographs or become princesses at the BBB. I really just don't understand it at all.

But who am I to begrudge somebody? And more importantly, who is Disney to begrudge them? I don't like that new rule at all.

I am not a big fan of BBB and was horrified how my daughter who had just turned 6 looked when she was done. That pop princess thing was horrid and we were more than happy when she decided to go swimming that afternoon and be done with the whole thing. She is now 10 and even the suggestion of going there would send her running. It is not like she is not girly because is super into girly fashion things just not princesses so I have a hard time understanding why anyone over the age of 10 much less 12 would want to go to BBB. In fact I can say that out of all her friends none of them would do this. Now if BBB was offering feathers and pedicures that would be a different story.

You GO Girl!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I hope you have a magical time. Some people have forgotten how to have fun. I wouldn't BBB on my own, but I would go in a heartbeat if my niece wanted to do it together - and I would wear my tiny bun proudly! princess: And I will admit here, before the DIS and everyone - that I have actually bought those crummy plastic hair extensions and worn them in the park. It's fun - why not?

I do kinda see the point about the experience being somewhat less magical for the wee ones if there are a bunch of goofy older ladies around. (maybe they could sell a fairy package and dress the ladies up like Flora, Fauna & Merryweather) But I do hope that they are flexible on families that want to go together, and teens who are still able to enjoy that kind of thing...

And don't even start on Santa! Do not mess with my private time with the Jolly old Elf!!! :santa: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I don't see why it matters so much as to what others are doing/wearing. :confused3
If someone over 12 wants to do BBB why should anyone else care? :thumbsup2

I also think some people are getting way too upset about the new rule. Why is this such a big deal? You can go to the Main street barbershop and have bucket loads of glitter thrown on your head and for a far better price too.

Oh, I'm pessimistic too. I sympathize with your lack of love for some of the recent decisions. I just keep on telling myself that it won't get worse, it won't get worse, it won't get worse.... Maybe we should start a support group. ;)

It happens to most of us. I was SO unhappy when they changed my favorite quiet restaurant into a Princess palace. People told me that it was all about the kids and that I just had to accept that. Ugh, why? But in that case it was about the mighty dollar too and I just had to understand that Disney will make decisions that benefit them financially. They are just a corporation when it comes down to it.

I'm still going to keep on hoping that they won't do anything else. :wizard:

I don't think it has to do with them wanting to get glitter in their hair as it does that nobody wants to have restrictions especially when paying lots of money to stay at Disney. Whether you are 2 or 20 you should be able to do all the same things if you pay the money (unless it is a safety issue). If there are a number of adults who do purchase BBB then why not make a seperate section for them? :confused3 That way they are not near the little ones when transforming into a Princess. I think everyone should have the same opportunity as anyone else. I love going to Disney & neither myself or my daughter have any interest in doing BBB, but I think anyone should have the chance to try should they chose too.
