For both Pre and Post Cruise. I'd love to hear things good and bad about where you stayed.

Thanks

We stayed pre cruise for a day at the Alexandra Barcelona, its a Hilton DoubleTree. We used Hilton points. Walking distrance to a few of the Gaudi buildings and La Ramblas. Also near one of the stops for the Hop on Hop off bus. We took that instead of a cab around during the day since we were checking out the Sangrada Familia and the went over to Park Guell and one of the lines stopped at both. Service was very good and rooms were nice. It must not be that popular, we took two cabs during our stay one from the train station and another after dinner and neither driver knew where the hotel was. I had to use the hop on hop off bus map i still had with me to help one of the drivers find it. Was a short trip to the port in the morning. We would stay again.

One of my wife's friends was traveling in Spain the week before we arrived and stayed their as well. They enjoyed it, and the concierge had a letter waiting from them when we arrived wishing us a good vacation.

We stayed at Hotel Jazz. Great location and the customer service was fabulous!

We stayed at Hilton Barcelona Diagonal Mar. It was walking distance to the Med Sea, and there was a mall across street. Great location and friendly staff

Hotel Jazz a 3 star with 5 star facilities, modern rooms, great breakfast, if book early you may get the breakfast included. It has a pool on the roof with stunning views and a bar there. We got free Cava as well per room. Great air con.

It's a block from the Placa Cataluna, the hub where the HOHO starts, La Rambala starts Tapas bars, market and Hard Rock.

Airport bus has stops nearby, taxi rank at front, shops there, and a number of subway stations.

It's cheaper than higher profile hotels so a real bargain. I stayed there twice.

We stayed at the novotel as they do family rooms rather than having to get 2 rooms. Its a walk from the Ramblas but right by the metro & also a HoHo stop. Quite a few of us were there 3 years ago & we are booked there again this year

I can report in on the Acta Atrium Palace in 3 weeks or so. It came highly recommended to me, so I have high hopes.

I've stayed at a few places on my trips to Barcelona. On my first trip to Barcelona I stayed at The Hotel Continental which is right on La Rambla street so it's close to everything, metro, mall, shopping, Gothic Quarter, La Boaqueria Market and many, many more. The staff at the hotel is wonderful and with the included 24 hour buffet you always have a place to grab a snack or drink (some alcohol included in the buffet) but please don't use the hotel as your only source for meals because they are plenty of fabulous places nearby. Nothing special or bad about the rooms but I could have done without the pink room decor (pink sheets, pink walls, pink towels, etc.). On my second trip to Barcelona I stayed at the Praktik Hotel Garden. This place was a little more chic than the Continental and it seemed more my style since it was away from the touristy places and more mixed in with the locals. The hotel also seem to have been recently remodeled with more sleek and stylish rooms. As I had mentioned the hotel location is away from all the hustle and bustle but the metro was about a 10-minute walk away so you basically connected to everything as long as you don't mind the metro (which I don't). I also did a lot of walking in the neighborhood just to get my bearings, plus I like to mix with the locals. I hope my reviews helps.

We have stayed in a couple of different hotels in Barcelona, but have decided to stick with TRYP Apolo this year. We always seem to get an excellent price, which is a plus. The location is perfect for us as it's walking distance to Las Ramblas. Hotel is spotless, great air conditioning, and the rooms are very spacious. Always seems to have a lot of cruisers staying there. It's about a 5/10 minute drive to the cruise port.

Just another note to add, while it is only a short drive to the cruise port, I have seen people walk to the port, and while it absolutely can be done, it wouldn't be something I would recommend. It's a really long bridge to walk over, and I've seen many families struggling with their luggage in the heat. Each to their own of course, but you'll see what I mean when you're heading to the port yourselves!

Agree never plan to walk to / from the port, it's a long road over a bridge often very hot there, it's doable without luggage, but not with luggage. Same as Dover UK, but less hot.

For our pre-cruise in September, I booked at Hotel Lloret in Barcelona. Its on Las Ramblas, which is a block from Plaça de Catalunya. Plaça de Catalunya is at the end of Passeig de Gràcia, so plenty of things to do within walking distance to the hotel. Trip Advisor link is below. If anyone has stayed here or books to stay here before 9/15/2016 let me know your thoughts on the place.

Would love to hear more suggestions. We are arriving a day early and staying two nights after the cruise. I was thinking somewhere near the port for the first night. Then somewhere more in the center of attractions. Anyone stay at the Eurostar at the Marina? Hotel 1898 looks so cool for after. But there are so many choices!

We also stayed at Hotel Jazz. Very close to metro and also the Aerobus stop. Would stay there again.
