"Bad Sign: Shoppers use gift cards for groceries"

I'm not frugal in the least and pretty much buy what I want. This Christmas, what I wanted was a new coat. What I got was $70 in gift cards to Wal-Mart. I went to Burlington Coat Factory and spend the cash on the coat. Used the gift cards to buy the necessities. It all balances out in my budget, although Wal Mart may not like it.

I received a $100.00 american express gift card for my bday (in july). I have been saving it to buy myself something special.

Instead........ today I used the entire $100.00 at sams & walmart (for groc and supplies - nothing fun).
