Bad News

I've just been told that my company is being bought by another company, and they already have a HR Manager - so my job is now redundant -

I'm not just writing for sympathy (although some hugs would by nice), I just wondered if anyone out there is aware of any London agencies that specialise in jobs for the over 45!

I have already been told by a couple of agencies that 45 is pushing it a bit for consideration for employment (Cheek!) aparently experience doesn't count for much - sigh!

Feel better now for sharing my news anyway.

Hugs and pixie dust on their way. Its a bit of a worry with redundancy ,but take no notice of agencies who discrimnate because of your age. Experiance does count for a lot and im sure youll find something else just stay positive.

Our firms dodgey at the momment thay havent announced there making redundancies but they are so were counting ourselves lucky if were still here at the end of every week.


I think you need a little trip to see Mickey to cheer you up

Whoever said 45 is old is just talking rubbish you must have so much experience and i am sure you will be a real asset for a new company. I am sure you will find something soon try online job finders, the press and also try temping agencies they usually have permanr positions as well.

Oh Pat, pixie dust and hugs coming your way. Don't allow the comments about your age to get you down - easier said than done - but I do think that it's a pity that when people need a confidence boost, especially after being made redundant, that somebody comes out with a comment like that.
