First time sailing on the Magic for us (3rd DCL sailing overall) and first time visiting New Orleans!

My wife and I sailed on the Dream in 2011 where I proposed. We sailed Carnival and Princess with friends after (loved them!) then stopped cruising once we had kids. In September of this year we sailed on the Wish with our 7yo and almost-4yo and are now addicted!

Any recommendations for New Orleans for a few days before and after (especially gluten free)? We have the Omni Riverfront booked for 2 nights before so far, with a Southwest flight out of La Guardia on the 8th.

We’re looking for a family-friendly Easter brunch and dinner. So far we have our eyes on a jazz paddle boat brunch.

We are also on this cruise. 6th cruise with Disney - first one on the Magic and also first one out of New Orleans. We are also interested in any suggestions for things to take in for a couple of days before. Our DS11 is excited for this trip and the different waterslide!

This is my family's third Disney cruise (and third ship--slowly making our way to them all!). We live in New Orleans, so this will hopefully be an easy sailing for us.

Ideas for things to do in New Orleans with kids: Audubon Aquarium; pickup beignets to-go from the Cafe du Monde window (back side of the cafe) and enjoy in Jackson Square-room for kids to run around; City Park has a great playground with a Cafe du Monde adjacent; ride the streetcar (the green one that goes uptown) to the end of the line and back; the National World War II Museum is incredible, but parts may be a bit much for small kids, so review their exhibits online before booking tickets; Ogden Museum of Southern Art often times has fun activities for families on their schedule of events.

Restaurants-there are so many amazing options! Easter brunch may be rather formal (and long) at the better restaurants. A Google search of best Easter brunch for kids will yield many good options. Many downtown hotels offer an Easter brunch.

There may be some ideas for things to do around New Orleans in NOLA Family Magazine: https://www.nolafamily.com/.

Happy Sailing!

We’re looking to do the Easter jazz river cruise brunch on the Natchez. They finally put the event on their website this week, but info still “coming soon”
