Anyone stay at Marriott Grande Vista lately?

We will be staying here in Feb for 10 days instead of Bonnet Creek where we usually stay. Since it is only my DD (16) and myself I thought it would be fun to change things up and stay somewhere different and remember how nice the Grande Vista was a few years ago.

Wondering if anybody has stayed there recently and how you liked it. Any tips?

We stayed at MGV for the first time from December 17th to 24th. The resort was absolutely lovely, and our villa was very well appointed. Upon check-in, we were informed it was newly renovated and the finishings were very nice.

Our only two pre-arrival requests (top floor villa, and near one of the two main pools) were not granted, but we were staying on a getaway through Interval International so we knew that was a possibility.

The resort itself was VERY quiet. Not many young families, but many older folks who appeared to be there on golfing vacations.

There were fewer activities going on than at our home resort (Sheraton Vistana Resort) but the pools were all fantastic.

Our biggest pet peeve was no mid-week tidy. Honestly, I missed the fresh towels and light cleaning that we are given at no charge when guests at SVR. Otherwise, we had no complaints. The internet worked marvelously and parking was abundant.

That is a newly renovated unit that you got! I am so jealous. I was there last year and the furniture definitely did not look like that.

We were very lucky to get such a nicely updated villa. And it was so big for just the two of us! It was almost a shame to see the whole second half of the lock-off go unused for an entire week. We should have brought friends or family along!

OMG! Gina thank you so much! Love the pics!! Looks like it is still a beautiful resort and now I am very excited to go!!

Since we have been to Orlando so many times, we are pretty much looking to relax poolside, do some shopping, a day or two at the parks and basically soak up some Florida sunshine.

Looks like it will be fabulous!

Those are some really gorgeous pictures! Do you mind if I ask if you rented straight from Marriott or a different site? I'm not having much luck finding a reasonably priced 2 bedroom resort on the main websites.

We booked our stay through our Interval International membership (one of their "Getaways"). We paid under $350 for the week, which was a STEAL.

Thanks for posting pics! We book through Interval too and I always see this Marriott on the list and wondered about it. How long would you say it takes to drive to the Disney parks from there?

We've stayed here twice, until we discovered the joys of staying on site in Disney. But I can honestly say if they ever get rid of early morning EMH we'll be back here in a flash. We loved it.
