Did anyone attend this class? was it worth your time? did it cost anything? what was the freebee for attending? Thank you.:goodvibes

If it's like the one I went to on the MR cruise (Wonder also), it was a waste of time. We got two 12x12 Disney pages (they were nice), but the rest was a free for all. They had foam letters dumped on a table, I saw paper, but people were greedy and took large quantities, and there were sequen shapes also dumped on the table. Some people stayed around and created a page with their kids, but it wasn't a "class" per se.

I wanted to do this with my DD (10). I think I probably will go, but won't stay if it seems pointless.

Thanks!

Sorry, but I was extremely disappointed with it and didn't even bother checking it out the second day.

A friend of mine used to teach a scrapbooking class on some of the Magic sailings and it was never like that. They should ask me to teach the class -- I'd keep them in line, lol.

I missed the first class on last week's cruise, wanted to go see what it was like. I never saw the second one scheduled. The week's preview we received on the first day said it would be on our last sea day, but I didn't see it on the Navigator. I suspected it would not be anything beyond very basic page creation. I did purchase the Disney and Alaska specific page kit and embellishments while on board.

I know on the WBTA is was very basic. It would be something fun to do with your child but I don't think it's for anyone else that has scrapbooked except for maybe the free paper, etc.

It would be fun to have a scrapbooking class for the Podcast cruises, with PCC logos and paper. Unfortunately, I know nothing about scrapbooking, so I would need an actual class.

Sorry you missed the class:sad1: Can you give me some specifics as to what was in the page kits you bought and also what embellishments they had available to purchase? Oh, and how much did they charge? Do they have a Disney Cruise Scrapbook now? Ahhh, so many questions.

Hope someone else attended and can clue me in to the specifics of this class, too!

Thank you.

Sorry it took awhile for me to get back to you....still unpacking!

I purchased a 12x12 kit titled "Alaska Inaugural Sailings 2011." It contains 6 "designer" 12x12 pages, which each feature Alaska and/or Wonder motifs, along with Characters on several. In addition it includes 4 sticker sheets, 1 sheet of border stickers, and 4 paper frames. The kit is $15.95.

There were also smaller packets of die cuts and individual sticker packets. I don't use that many stickers and die cuts in my scrapping, so I didn't purchase those, and don't remember those prices. There is a 12x12 scrapbook sold that has the artwork for the Alaska Inaugural Sailings 2011 on the cover. We purchased a photo album with the artwork on it, as I did not wish to make a 12x12 book of this trip alone. I don't remember how much the 12x12 scrapbook was, the photo album is ~8x8, holds 200 photos, and was $18.95.

I've included the artwork for the albums (and the cover of the page packet) below. If you are interested, I'll take photos of the packet's contents to show you also. In addition to the inaugural scrapping materials, there was a scrapbook album, photo album and scrapping kit materials for Disney Cruise Line. These were more geared towards tropical activities/Castaway Cay, seemed a little out of place, but I guess if you are behind on your scrapping and you've been to those places they might be useful. I did not spend much time looking at them!! The scrapbook album did have the Disney Cruise Line logo on it, and looked very nice. If I do more Disney cruises I will seriously consider that album. It was not itinerary specific.

Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for scrapping materials in the gift shops in the ports as well. I saw some interesting pre-packaged sets in the Alaska Tee Shirt shops, as well as in some other gift shops. There are albums, page kits (some hand painted!), and "companion kits" with diecuts, frames and stickers that are specific for the theme. There are kits specific to each city, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan as well as other popular places in Alaska. Prices were pretty reasonable, ranging from $1.99 for individual die cuts to $19.99 for some 6 page kits. The companion kits were $5.99. I only purchased one of those. I can post the manufacturer of those if you are interested.

Here are the front and back covers of the photo album, hope this works:

WOW, thank you so much for this detailed information - glad to know what is in the Disney Scrapping kits, as well as what to look for when in the different ports! Thanks again:):)

I also found these links for additional elements for Alaska scrapping. Most items at these links don't fit my current style, but someone may find them useful, or find just the right embellishment for the page you envision! BTW, while the souvenir shops had some of these items available, they also had some that do not show up on any of these pages! If you are an avid scrapper, it's worth a peek.

I am in need of an inaugural Alaska scrapbook, they were sold out before I could purchase one on my July 19th cruise. If anyone is headed that way and can pick up an extra I would be happy to reimburse for cost plus shipping. The cruise is wonderful. Take lots of memory cards for your camera or a laptop to down load pictures to. Take a pair of binoculars with a built in stabilizer. There are plenty of opportunities to book excusions after you arrive at your destinations so don't fret. The only exception to that is the 4:00 Lumberjack show in Ketchikan - Disney buys out that whole show so you must book it through the ship.
