Hi there. I am cruising for the first time in October. Does Port Canaveral have air line check in for people flying home? Just wondering if they have something similar to what they do at the resorts. I would like to check our bags and check into our flight before leaving the terminal. I thought I read somewhere that it does. Thanks!

No, Port Canaveral does not have anything like this. If you took DCL transport to the port, they used to collect your bags from the airport and take the right to the ship, but not anymore. There's nothing to check in for flights at Port Canaveral and you have to get your bags to the airport yourself (if you take DCL transport to MCO obviously they'll take them in the motorcoach, but you'll still check them at the airport when you get there).

Back in the day they used to have some of the major airlines luggage desks right outside where the buses are. You would go to your airline desk and check your bags right there for the flight home and just hop on the bus with your carry ons (under the bus). Then that went away and they started the Onboard Airline Check- In system where if you booked air through DCL or ground transfers and your flight times/airline qualified and you were registered for the program DCL would check you in for your return flight and deliver your airline boarding pass/luggage tags to your cabin the night before you debarked. You would just leave your luggage out in the hall and they would take it away and deliver to the airport. You would not see it again until your home airport. It was a great system. Too bad it went away and has not been reinstated since Covid.

Disney’s Convenient Onboard Airline Check-In

Enjoy the comfort and convenience of Onboard Airline Check-In* when you purchase ground transportation through Disney Cruise Line, such as:

Receive your boarding passes ahead of time.
Check your luggage for your return flight before disembarking the ship.
Skip luggage claim at the port terminal.
Bypass the airline check-in counter at the airport.

Here's how it works:

Reserve ground transportation through Disney Cruise Line, then request to sign up for Onboard Airline Check-In when you check in at the cruise port.

On the day prior to disembarkation, your airline boarding passes and valet luggage tags will be delivered to your stateroom.

Attach the tags to your luggage and leave your bags outside your stateroom on the evening prior to disembarkation. Your luggage will be collected and delivered to your airline for you.

Upon arrival at Orlando International Airport, you can proceed to security and continue to your departure gate.

*This service is available to Guests using Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue and United Airlines flying out of Orlando International Airport on domestic flights (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands). This service is also available to Guests flying internationally on Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue and United Airlines.
Pre-registration is required and scheduled flights must be after 11:25 AM on the day your cruise ends. Airline-specific baggage fee may apply and can vary by airline. Each luggage piece can weigh no more than 50 lbs. In addition, some Guests may be selected to check in at the airport and will be unable to use this service.

Oh I didn't know they stopped it at resorts!
Yes, it fell apart due to Covid - the company that provided the service, Bags, Inc., went bankrupt (and was later bought by another company), the arrangements with TSA couldn’t be re-established, etc. So although DME came back for a year or so (the contract with Mears was separate from baggage transport on arrival as well as the Resort Airline Checkin), baggage transport and RAC never did.
