Just back from another great WDW vacation. This time at the Beach club Villas. My dh & I love the WLV's but the aliens who are posing as teenagers wanted to go the Beach club. We were not disappointed.
Trip reports are generally hard for me for 2 reasons.
1) We love WDW. Objectivity is not my middle name. Some thing will have to have gone horrible, horrible wrong for us to have a bad disney vacation.
2) My sons are evil teenagers and I'm a 9/11 survivor. but mainly the first point. Waiting 30 minutes for a resort bus is not a disaster in my world, watching your 2nd born skate board off of the top of the shed on a dare from his brother, is.
I'll divide it into 2 parts: Resorts and Parks.
Once again the DVC resorts get the "Mrs. Potts Hospitality Award". The BCV's did not fail to match up to my expectations. The resort is beautiful and while it did not take my breathe away like the WL, it never failed to give me a "goofy" smile on my face.
The cm's were outstanding. From driving up, where the valet and bell service were there as soon as I put our car into Park to check out. Once inside there were 3 greeters (not including Art) who cheerfully welcomed us and offered their assistance. We got 2 offers to escort us to the dvc check in area (we declined) and while our room was not ready when we got there (we arrived ~10:30 am) we got a call within the hour that we were good to go.
We had a pleasant surprise when the front desk called the next day to wish my youngest happy birthday and delivered ballons and a sign Mickey photo. I briefly mentioned it to the cm at concierge, while changing dinner ressies when he asked the ages of the kids. I had not arranged nor paid for the ballons. Very, very nice. I was greeted each day by the desk cm's in the villas and any staff I passed in the hallways or elevators were friendly and wished us a great day.
We were in room 547. The room itself was great. spotless clean, fully stocked and operational. The linens and soaps were new and we got a room with the new style pull out bed. We had 2 balconies, one off of the living room and one off of the bedroom.
My one complaint would be the "john". it is loud! It sounds more like the industrial strength ones you see in public places. You know the ones that flush and could suck a small child down it. These are the views from the balcony.
Tomorrow: parks and odds and ends.
