A wilderness lodge gal in King "Art the greeters" Court

Just back from another great WDW vacation. This time at the Beach club Villas. My dh & I love the WLV's but the aliens who are posing as teenagers wanted to go the Beach club. We were not disappointed.
Trip reports are generally hard for me for 2 reasons.
1) We love WDW. Objectivity is not my middle name. Some thing will have to have gone horrible, horrible wrong for us to have a bad disney vacation.
2) My sons are evil teenagers and I'm a 9/11 survivor. but mainly the first point. Waiting 30 minutes for a resort bus is not a disaster in my world, watching your 2nd born skate board off of the top of the shed on a dare from his brother, is.
I'll divide it into 2 parts: Resorts and Parks.

Once again the DVC resorts get the "Mrs. Potts Hospitality Award". The BCV's did not fail to match up to my expectations. The resort is beautiful and while it did not take my breathe away like the WL, it never failed to give me a "goofy" smile on my face.

The cm's were outstanding. From driving up, where the valet and bell service were there as soon as I put our car into Park to check out. Once inside there were 3 greeters (not including Art) who cheerfully welcomed us and offered their assistance. We got 2 offers to escort us to the dvc check in area (we declined) and while our room was not ready when we got there (we arrived ~10:30 am) we got a call within the hour that we were good to go.
We had a pleasant surprise when the front desk called the next day to wish my youngest happy birthday and delivered ballons and a sign Mickey photo. I briefly mentioned it to the cm at concierge, while changing dinner ressies when he asked the ages of the kids. I had not arranged nor paid for the ballons. Very, very nice. I was greeted each day by the desk cm's in the villas and any staff I passed in the hallways or elevators were friendly and wished us a great day.
We were in room 547. The room itself was great. spotless clean, fully stocked and operational. The linens and soaps were new and we got a room with the new style pull out bed. We had 2 balconies, one off of the living room and one off of the bedroom.
My one complaint would be the "john". it is loud! It sounds more like the industrial strength ones you see in public places. You know the ones that flush and could suck a small child down it. These are the views from the balcony.

Tomorrow: parks and odds and ends.

Eliza....wonderful report as always. Sounds like you had a great time! :thumbsup2

We are thinking of trying out BCV too during our next vacation. Nice to know that a fellow VWL lover found BCV to be a great resort as well. I'm in the same camp as you....it would take an awful lot for my vacation to be messed up by any resort stay at WDW.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know your impressions, in a style that is uniquely yours! :)

I stayed there for the 1st time a couple of years ago. We really enjoyed it, the front desk reminded me of 'the good old days at okw' the rooms were clean and my son loved the pool. As much as I love OKW our first home, I would have no problem staying there again and more then likely will. Glad you and yours enjoyed:goodvibes

thanks for the great report:goodvibes

I also enjoyed my stay there.....but like you I haven't found a resort
that I didn't like:goodvibes

Welcome back Eliza! We missed you. I'm so glad you were able to have a wonderful non-vwl vacation. I, too, am a VWL-BCV-lover!

You know how much we enjoy your writings, so keep up the great work!

PS I didn't know you were a 9/11 survivor. That makes you all the more special to me. :cloud9:

Can't wait to read your trip report....we'll be staying at BCV for the 1st time in May '08 :hourglass Time's going by too slowly so it's great to read about what we have to look forward to.:goodvibes

love your trip report.

I did on my one and only trip to BCV - love it. but for less points I can have BWV, OKW, SSR or AKV.

right now have to pay attention to the points. So no BCV or VWL :sad2: for the next few years.

Thanks for the great report.......we're also VWL owners and love it....have stayed everywhere but BCV.......for some reason the place just doesn't do anything for me.......but, your report did strike a glimmer of interest......I'm sure we will stay at some point......but, I've just got to stay at AKV first, although not until Kidani Village is ready.......we're off to our beloved VWL first week of January.........
