We landed at the airport in Ft. Myers 20 minutes early. The flight was smooth all the way and I actually dozed for 45 minutes on the flight. It was sunny and beautiful we landed and we just had the biggest grins on our faces.
The sighting of our first palm tree at the airport:
We got our luggage, picked up our Alamo rental car and started the drive to Disney World. We were really getting hungry at this point. Now, Nicki will CRINGE when she reads this, but Mark and I love the Waffle House...simple food and filling. So we stopped at Waffle House before our 3 hour drive to the World.
I had my Cheese omelet with my hash browns scattered, smothered and covered and Mark had his cheesy eggs with grits and raisin toast:
We finished our meal and headed on our way to the World. We arrived "home" right at 9 p.m.
The fountain in the lobby of the CSR:
We were originally going to ask for the Ranchos because it is the only section we have not yet stayed in at the CSR (this is our ninth stay at our "home"). However, I found out they were painting all of the buildings on the outside and sometimes paint smell and I don't get along. So I asked for any building that was NOT being painted. We were given a room in Cabanas 8A which was a super location. We were steps away from the main pool and a short walk over the bridge to the main building.
We were in Room 8141.
We arrived to our room and had two great surprises. The first was a gift bag full of treats from our good friends here on the DIS, Karin and Tom (dizneeat). The bag was extra special because it had my DIS screen name on it. This would be the bag that I would carry around the parks for the next four days and it was perfect--it helped with other DIS members stopping to say hello.
We also received a bag from the Coronado:
The two bags were STUFFED with all kinds of goodies. Here are a few of the pictures to show all of the goodies received:
And we had this lovely towel animal upon our arrival:
Up next, a few pictures of our room and our walk around the CSR before hitting the sack for our first full day at the World.
