HI everyone
My DH and myself will be staying in a studio in the villas for the first time this April. Can anyone tell me if the pools have umbrellas? My DH does not like the sun and after some time I also like some shade. Can't wait to be staying there!!!!

...Did you enjoy your RPC stay? How did you feel the lounge food was....I've read mixed opinions lately.

This was our first RPC visit, although we do stay club level at the Grand Californian (the "other" Grand) several times a year. A CM did not meet us at the car, we needed to inform the valet -- and a club CM found us at the regular registration counter. Our room was 4330, which was last on my request list, one of the 6 deluxe king turret rooms. We were very happy with the room, walk in closet and easily the largest hotel room we have stayed in (other than a suite).

We liked how the lounge is directly accessible from all the club level rooms, so it's feels quite spacious. GCH has a small club lounge (key card to enter) which is often crowded. The lounge food was good, slightly more variety than GCH. The lounge service was excellent, there was often several CMs replenishing the food.

We are here at the GF RPC now. I have to say check in was pretty bad. No one to greet us so we stood in line at the check in desk for about 10 min. Bad timing as a large group came in before us. The CM then had to get another CM who brought us over to another CM who brought us upstairs. I asked her about the change and she just shook her head and said lots of cuts! We got a text that our room was ready as we were going up to the room.

Is there anywhere that lists some of the Grand Floridian trip reports? I'm searching in the trip reports forum but not having much luck. It pulls up any report that even mentions the resort. I'm hoping to find some that include sugarloaf.

Also, is there a TV for the kids in the SL lounge? Thanks!

We have a little down time because the rain is really coming down! Someone was asking about drinks that they have out. Ginger ale, Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Caffine free Diet Coke, Sprite and Diet Sprite are in the fridge. Lemonade,unsweetened ice tea,fruit punch type and water are in large glass dispensers.

I have to say the food has been wonderful in the lounge. Hubby has been taking lots of food porn pictures and I will try to post them but have never done it before.
Breakfast this morning had hard boiled eggs, ham slices, turkey slices. Oatmeal with walnuts, raisins and brown sugar to put on top. Bagels, bread for toast with jam and butter and cream cheese. Watermelon chunks, pineapple, cantalope and three types of cereal. Apple muffins, croissants, and an apricot muffin.

Thank you so much you guys! I have to say check in was a downer but since then it's been a great trip. The tornado warnings right now are keeping us in the hotel but shopping was fun!
The food has been really good. Surprisingly I didn't mind the wine being served and the food serving CM have all been really nice.
The check in cast members on the other hand. The girl that checked me in at the CL desk told me that the beach pool was closed. I said don,t you mean just the slide? Her comeback "oh really, they never tell us anything around here". I kid you not, we walked over and the pool is open just the slide is closed.

Forgot to mention we are in room 4409. It has a really big balcony with a nice view of the castle except for one palm tree you have to look around. We love it because it is just steps from the back elevator that brings you down to the pool. It's a nice shortcut to the boat dock as well

Hubby's not ready to go yet so. I was wrong on the diet Sprite it is Sprite Zero if there is any difference. Afternoon tea was scones with strawberry's and cream, and a wonderful banana Carmel truffle.

I'm sorry they made you wait in that line. The least they could do is to have a check-in counter and line for CL stays. We'll be there soon and I'm not looking forward to the cutbacks. I think they should cut back our room rate at this point.

Oh oh sweet that you got a towel animal, alwyas such a cute surprise! It's sad to hear about the cutbacks around Disney world though and from the sound of it CMs aren't very informed and they aren't happy about it. That sucks, but hopefully it doesn't take away from your trip.

The trip has been a lot of fun so far. I honestly have to say that we have seen a lot more down right nasty guests than rude CM. We have also seen a lot of earning their ears CM at the MK. I stopped in to make out a card for a wonderful CM at guest services and I thought the CM there was going to hug me.
