2 guys, a mom and the mouse. NOW COMPLETED!!! PIC INTENSIVE TR.

I'm working 50 hours a week at very large bank in their home loans divison. It is very tiring and stressfull thing to have to tell people that we are not able to help them modify their payment or that we have no status on their short sale. BUT FOR DISNEYLAND I WOULD WORK EVEN MORE IF THEY WOULD LET ME.

I just wanted to say that you totally deserve this vacation, Disney is great motivation for a streesful job. I do the same thing, maybe even for the same bank, and I frequently remind myself that if I don't keep this job I cannot afford to go to disneyland anymore, and since I only live 90 minutes away that would be torture! Hope you enjoy your trip!!

Couldn't help but notice your job talk. I'm on the other end, in Real Estate and we have a partnership with a very large bank. We are working endlessly to try to help these distressed sellers and past clients figure out how to solve their dilemnas from our end. It is so frustrating to not be able to reach people and not get answers. Great to read of your perspective and know that there are real people back there, working hard, also trying to find solutions. I'm positive that DL is a well earned reward.

As I talked about previously, the dining is an integral part of my DLR experiance. i spend hours planning out each meal based on value and quality. With the help of Chris, I have planned out each meal of our trip.

Day 1 (Friday)

Lunch: Since we will be arriving by monorail and starting in tommorowland, I figured we will eat at Red Rocket's.

Dinner: 7:00 PM PS for Blue Bayou!

Day 2 (Saturday)

Breakfast: After our first Magic Morning, we will feast on Mickey Pancakes at The River Bell Terrace.

Lunch: 1:00 PM PS for Cafe Orleans. Yay! I love the Monte Cristo

Dinner: Taste Pilot's Grill or Lucky fortune Cookery, depending on what the new menu looks like.

Day 3 (Sunday)

Breakfast: After another wonderful Magic Morning we will dine at Carnation Cafe. I have heard wonderful things about CC and look forward to trying them for the first time.

Lunch: White Water Snacks. Those nachos look amazing!

Afternoon Break: The Cove Bar for drinks.

Dinner: A new favorite of mine... The Plaza Inn. Their chicken is phenomenal.

Day 4 (Monday)

Breakfast: White Water Snacks... I am really excited to try the breakfast burrito.

Lunch: 12:30 PS for Carnation Cafe. I can't decide between the meatloaf or the pot pie.

Dinner: ESPN Zone!!! Another staple for my trips.

Day 5 (Tuesday)

Breakfast: After our final magic morning, we will do another first... Breakfast at the Plaza Inn with Minnie and Friends! I'm really excited to experience a different character breakfast. I have heard really good things, so I am hoping that I will not be disappointed.

Lunch: Cocina Cucamonga

Dinner: After our final evening in the park, we will head over to the Paradise Pier Hotel and eat at PCH Grill. We have PS for 8:20. Chris is going to eat the Kitchen Sink by himself. I'm going to watch and laugh. I might have to take video with my new phone.

Day 6 (Wednesday)

Breakfast: 7:00 AM PS for Goofy's Kitchen. It was Chris's idea to end the trip with one last character breakfast before we go. I think it is a wonderful way to say good-bye. Plus we will get to eat PB&J Pizza.

That wraps up my DLR dining plan. Care to critique?

Oh my! I didn't know you could get them over there. Please explain so I can go buy my own :yay:

Thanks in advance for the trip report. Have an awsome time!

From what I understand, the green mickey heads are paint color samples and are free at home depot. You should be able to just pick some up. Then you decorate them and put your DIS username on it and attach it to your person while at the DLR to attract other DISers.

HELLO.... IS ANYBODY OUT THERE? (echoes in the distance)

Well if anyone is reading, this week has seemed like a nightmare. Throughout everything that has happened, I feel very strange about going on vacation in a fee weeks. On one hand, it will be very much needed and deserved, but awkward at the same time.

Let me elaborate. It all started last sunday when after several days of trying to reach my stepmother and confused, bed ridden father, I made the long drive out to see him. Upon arrival, I knocked on the door to no answer. I looked through the windows and could not find anyone. I began the process of breaking in through the window when a neighbor caught me and informed me that my stepmother was out of town and my father was taken in an ambulance the other night. I asked him what happened but he did not know the details.

After interrogating several other neighbors I gathered enough info to find out that he was in a health/rehab center. My father has a slew of health problems, diabetes being the worst. I don't want to go into all of the details but I did eventually find him. I'm still not quite sure why my stepmother was out of town, but I let her have it for not telling me and leaving my father by himself. He can not function on his own. I don't know what she was thinking.

My mother recently had a mammogram. They found a spot. She is going for more tests. :sad2:

My childhood cat is having trouble passing urine. I think he may have a stone. My mother and I cannot afford to pay for surgery. We have lost another cat to this before.

Wednesday afternoon, while at work... I started developing a pain in my left arm/shoulder. The pain quickly spread to my chest and I began having trouble breathing. The pain radiated throughout my entire torso and up my neck. I rushed to take some aspirin thinking I was having a heart attack. The pain did not cease and I was not able to breath. I went to the emergency room. They did an EKG and found nothing wrong. Then upon finding out about my family's medical history were determined that I had a pulmonary embolism. They rushed me to take a chest x-ray and CT scan. They still found nothing. They sent me home with percocet. I still have no idea what happened to me but the pain slowly went away over the next few days.

Finally, the worst of all. A man that is not only a roommate, but has been a friend, a cast mate and a mentor, is quite possibly on his death bed. Through a long series of illness and surgeries, he has come to this point. He recently went in for surgery on his colon. While in recovery, a staple came out of his colon and it allowed fecal matter to leak into his body. He developed a severe infection. They had to go back in and do emergency surgery and clean up. He is currently on a respirator and in a coma. His condition has not improved and he is not responding to the anti-biotics. The longer he is in this coma, the more the chance increases that his kidneys will shut down and he will need dialysis. His fiance is beside herself. I'm so worried for her and her sanity. I'm worried for my friend. I tried to visit him today, but his mother had flown in from Philadelphia to see him. It wasn't a good time. I'm going to go tommorow. I just hope that I won't be too late. I'm not sure how much more his body can take. He has been in and out of the hospital more times this year than most people in their entire life.

As I write this, I have to wonder if anything else can happen. I just want things to be back to normal.

aaww that sounds like a rough patch well I am keeping you and your fam in my prayers and hoping everyone gets better :) your trip report sounds like a blast though when you going?

Keeping you, your family & friends on my prayers. I don't know why but bad things have a tendency to accumulate.

God will get you through.

Hope everything gets better.

Wow........I don't know what to say, except to let you know that I just said a prayer for you, your family and friends. I really hope your mom gets the all clear, and that you guys make your DL strip as scheduled and have a GREAT time!!!

I love what you said about having your mom see DL through your eyes. Seeing it through my kids' eyes is what makes DL our favorite vacation spot!

Now on to more important things....eating! Have you seen the new Lucky Fortune Cookery menu yet? I saw that it is on your list of potential eateries. I saw pictures of the menu on another site, with a review. The menu looks really good, as we love chicken/rice bowls, but the review wasn't that great. Maybe some Dis-ers will go soon and post some info...

Hope all is well!

I appreciate the prayer... I can use all that I can get right now.

As far as lucky fortune cookery, I have seen the menu and read a review that was less than flattering. It makes me sad, I was really hoping for something along the lines of fast chinese food, rather than a rice bowl stand. I'm not against trying one, but it will probably be split with Chris as a snack, rather than a meal.

Does anyone happen to have a pic of this?

Just a quick update for everyone, Our friend Will is awake and doing well, thank you all so much for keeping him in your thoughts.

That is great news.

Soon enough you will be on your way to DL!!! :cool1:

I realized that with only three more days to go, I ought to do an update to my PTR soon to be TR.

It has been a stressful past few days... my grandmother just passed away and I am dealing with the family drama that happens when a loved one goes. It's been difficult. Part of me feels weird about going on vacation, but I know she would have wanted me to enjoy my self.

I have been axiously awaiting the trip. I have spent the last few weeks eating, breathing and sleeping Disney. I have watched every Disney movie that I could. Including but not limited to...

Cinderella
Sleeping Beauty
The adventures of Icabod and Mr toad.
Monster's inc
Sword in the Stone
The three caballeros ( I forgot how weird this one was)
Finding Nemo
Alice in Wonderland
The Muppet Movie
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Song of the South
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

That's just to name a few... When not watching Disney movies I am either on the DIS or watching disneyland related videos on Youtube. It is gonna be murder in the next few days. I have no idea how I am going to be able to wait.

Well, my roommate is driving us to the airport and picking us up so we can save a little bit of money on super shuttle. ( Yay for Cher!) I offered her my car since there is no way on earth that we will all fit in her car with our luggage. That would involve her emptying her back seat... and that just won't happen. I need to clean out my car and trunk over the next couple of days so we have room for our luggage. I am afraid of what I might find... it has been a long time since I have cleaned out my trunk. :headache:

I booked super shuttle for pick up at SNA and return from DLH back to the airport. I really hate not having a car with me in California. Yeah, I know that we are only doing Disneyland, but I wish my mother would have let us drive out to Cali instead of flying. It costs me about the same if not cheaper to drive from Phoenix Arizona to Anaheim. It is only about a 5 hour drive and I love doing it. I love stopping in Cabazon and seeing the Dinosaurs and I love passing the windmills along the 10. I don't mind the distance... it really is not too bad. The one thing that makes the drive unbearable is the stretch between Blythe and Indio. There is nothing to look at. I really think that I have more of a sense of freedom if I have the car available... even if I do not use it. It will be nice not to have to leave at 4:30 in the morning though.

Here are the reasons I like the drive along the 10 into California.

The windmills may not look like much in these pictures but they are quite impressive in real life. They sprall for miles and miles over hills and mountains all across this highway. It sure is an awesome sight of American ingenuity to behold.

I love the "Dinosaur Museum" in Cabazon.

My other grandmother gave my mother and I a little bit of money for our trip. It's not much. But it is greatly appreciated. It will at least pay for dinner at blue bayou and get me a couple pins. I'm very content with that.:)

I hate the idea of packing. I'm not good at it. I either bring too much or not enough. I"m not good at folding items or keeping track of them. I don't think I have even completely unpacked my bag from last time. That is sad. That was over a month ago. I still need to go get more things from walmart- first aid and painkillers, 5 hour energys, snacks and other things that I am forgetting right now. Thankfully I have thursday off! Too bad it wil be spent doing errands. Well, the end result will be good.

I cannot wait to stay in the DLH. I'm very excited about it. I really want to see the grounds more extensively than I have been able to in the past.

I still need to get a teacup... (I'll explain this once we get back and I do the trip report)

I also need another memory card for my camera. I plan on taking lots of pictures.

I promise to bring back lots of food porn to share with everyone.

Well guys and dolls, I think it is about time for me to say goodnight. So I will see you later.

DH has a 4 hour rule. If it's more than a 4 hour drive we fly! :rotfl2: He doesn't mind the driving as much as he minds the other drivers. Plus he likes to look around and he can't to that as much when he is focusing on the road.
You will so enjoy the DLH. I upgraded us for our upcoming trip just so that DH can check out the property. Though we have stayed there many times, we've always had long park days. But this trip, due to flight times, we will have time to walk around the property and play with the jungle boats. Hope you have a great time. It is so cool that you can take your mom!!!

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope some of your good vibes about your trip finds its way to her.

Sorry about your grandmother, prayers for you and your family.

Glad your other grandmother gave you some extra spending cash. That is always nice! I am sure you and your mother will have a fantastic time with Chris420.
We will all be expecting lots of food porn and pics of all the wonderful things you do together.
I would love to see all the Fall Decorations in the parks. Beautiful!!

have a great time, only 2 more days to go!!! woot woot
