Are Pixie Pass dates EXACTLY the same as weekday passes were?

I paid for weekday passes when we renewed several months ago. When I went to pick them up we were told "only Pixie Passes are being sold now. It seems to me that the Pixie pass has several additional blocked days--mostly connected to three day weekends. If they are exactly the same, cool. But...

Deals for renewing a Silver Annual Pass?

Is it true that Disney will offer us a deal for renewing our Silver annual pass? When would that be likely to happen? Ours expire in Oct. but I was thinking that if there was no deal for renewing I might buy next years now before any price hike. (Pass is good for one year from the date of first...

How are you spending the "extra" cheap gas is creating?

Gas was up to $4.50 in the relatively recent past. $1.65 is a big drop from there. Every tank is at least $20 cheaper than it was two years ago.

    2016 January No Buy

I am taking a different approach. It doesn't matter which day I spend. My target is NO impulse spending and all spending for non essentials must come out of my $20 per week allowance. 1/6 $8, lunch with BIL 1/7 $3 at Dollar Tree, needed envelopes but didn't need new hot pads or strawberry...

    Weekly Money Saving Accomplishments

My goal for school break was/is to get our finances really in order. Yesterday I finalized a plan with a financial advisor for simplifying and managing our retirement accounts. (I had multiple piddly little accounts in different funds). Not POSITIVE that will save money, but it will give me...

    Weekly Money Saving Accomplishments

I learned two new skills that will save me money. I borrowed a friend's dehydrator and experimented with two red peppers. The little chips are now in a jar. If they really do stay fresh for the next month, I plan to load up when they are cheap and dehydrate pepper for use in chili and...

    Weekly Money Saving Accomplishments

I made tortilla soup instead of going to Chipotle yesterday. That will do 1 dinner and two lunches for the two of us (six servings) for the cost of one lunch just for me. This morning I hung a load of wash on our retractable clothesline.

What is Your Personal Savings Rate?

WOW. This thread reads like everybody here is a super saver. OOP for Dh's medical is already over $9000 this year. We are not saving at anywhere near the rates that seem average here.

If you have lots of books you can send them media rate from the post office. That is quite a bit cheaper than paying by the pound/mile to a moving company.

How did you save money lately?

Boneless skinless chicken breasts were on sale for $1.79 per pound. I bought 20 pounds. This morning I trimmed and then froze them in packages of one double breast per bag. The small chicken bits got poached and will be enough for two casseroles or lunches of chicken salad. The discardable...

How did you save money lately?

DH is out of town for a week. I made a major batch of apricot chicken in the crockpot the day he left. (He will eat it but I love it). I ate it at least once a day. Chicken breasts from the freezer were $7 for four double breasts. I have enjoyed six meals already. Plus, no work and no dirty...

all the budgeting and planning, I still feel like I'm going to let DD down

OP, I know this doesn't magically make it "all better." But I want to thank you for inspiring me. We are taking a trip of a lifetime to Italy the first week in Nov. Watching videos I realized I would need to walk a good bit and climb a LOT of stairs if I want to see my imaginary trip come...
