Just bought my first air fryer. Tell me your best hints, favorite uses, things to never try...

Thank you

Hubby loves making his grill cheese in it. Kids make all their snacks in it. I just started
making my salmon and tilapia in it. I was skeptical at first but sooo good. Ours is used
often but come summer/warmer weather it is daily. I avoid turning oven on at all if possible.
Lot of tried and tested air fryer recipes on the web.

*tip get some kind of liner with holes for bottom. It will make clean up much easier. I also got
this magnet sheet that sticks on the fridge with air fryer times for all kinds of things if im not sure.

the paper filters (like big coffee filters) work well and make for easy clean up. i agree with the magnet as well as look up online a free quick conversion chart-you can put in what your normal cook temp/time is and they will convert it to air fryer time.

Reheating fries. Just make sure that the temp setting is a bit lower and do it a bit longer to avoid burning them.

Baked potatoes are much faster in the air fryer. You can also put brats, etc in there rather than starting up the grill. Quick and easy. Tater tots. Yum.

Use parchment paper to line the basket if you have something that's messy (like pizza rolls). We use it for french fries, mozzarella sticks, and egg rolls. It is great for cooking or reheating fish too. I also bake chicken wings and then finish them off in the air fryer for some crispness.

If you have the PowerXL airfryer and it stops working, use a $5 microwave-door switch (from amazon) and watch the videos on youtube to fix it. Super easy!

Stouffer’s French bread pizzas. Reheated crab Rangoon. Reheated cheddar bay biscuits. Great stuff.

If you wash your basket right after you use it there isn’t much use for the paper liners BUT if you do us them OP, make sure something is on it when you put it down. If you use the liner for the preheat, it will fly up to the fan and will burn and cause smoke.

Chicken wings, roast chicken, steak, frozen fries and tater tots, roasting veggies, cinnamon rolls, reheating pizza, pork tenderloin....I love mine so much. Always on the look out for new recipes!

there must be different design styles-mine doesn't have a fan that would pull upward (i think it's actually in the rear of the appliance and circulates from the mid point and goes around similar to my convection oven and convection microwave oven).

I made steak in the air fryer for the first time recently. I was skeptical but it was delicious!

Made Shrimp in it too -so good.

Of course I use it for mozzarella sticks, fries, chicken patties etc.

Do you have the type that looks like a toaster oven? I believe the previous poster was talking about the basket-style air fryers. Those have the heating element at the top that blows the air, so if you have anything too light in the basket (parchment paper/liner) it can get sucked up and catch fire.

You can use silicon mats which are dishwasher safe. They are $7 for 4. They are heavy enough to stay in place.
Here’s the link https://www.amazon.com/Silicone-Acc...13654&sprefix=Air+fryer+,aps,101&sr=8-34&th=1

Mine doesn't either. I also use non toxic silicone liners which have been a life saver and extremely easy
to clean.
