As an owner of 3 SSR contracts, one of which I was contemplating selling so as to buy more BCV,
I think this is terrible!
I am going to sit on my SSR awhile longer hoping, in the interim, that I can find that BCV unicorn that I'm looking for.

You nailed it. Walking away and not even considering them when selling. I’ve sold 4 contracts in the last year and I will not use a broker that lecture me. I won’t even bid on their contracts. I’ve been collecting data on the ones who act like this and it’s very telling. Their listings don’t move while other listings do at same or higher prices. It’s a great case study for my college students!

I encountered my first broker like this. Pretty sad that they’re out there. But, lesson learned. Most All of his contracts have sat for months

That doesn't always work. When I first started looking I also I tried to look for those, because it would make sense that they are willing to go lower because they have been sitting, right? Well I put offers in for those and their counter was still nowhere near my offer. However, I'm sure that really is based on a case to case situation. Some sellers rather sit on it for a year than lose money on it. It really takes just that ONE seller to say "okay fine I give up, I just want the money"

I wondered that too, and I have no idea except to think maybe those owners just don't wanna sell? BRV has one of the least amount of listings for the past couple months, especially if you count only the 2042 resorts. Some brokers only have a handful or less, it's crazy!

Ah that would make sense! Guess I was one of the lucky ducks that snagged one! Haven't passed the ROFR monster yet...will post it once it does!

I know that people on here don't always want to do this, but put yourself in the perspective of the seller. Unless you just had to sell right now, why would you? We had contemplated actually selling some of our VGF1 points (due to the way they rolled in BPK to the existing association), but it makes more sense just to hold on to them right now.

In other words, I don't think that the sell/don't sell decision is entirely based on price for sellers, and this is why you see some sitting out there so long. There is still value if you hold your points longer in either using or renting them. So, there's some alpha-level that you'd need to get past to change your decision to decide to move your points. Also, these new announcements could be having an effect as well. Many people could have been waiting for VDH and come off the fence on that and purchased more WDW points. Or, maybe like us, we figure now we'd maybe have a use for those VGF1 points over at FW if I can't get a DLX Studio at 11 months (sigh...)
