Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

Reminder: for tonight, Saturday

The Love Club is actually an original movie series that premiered on Hallmark's streaming platform: Hallmark Movies Now, in February.

Tonight is the first of the four movies, Nicole's Pen Pal. Not sure when they will show the other movies. They will probably space them out as the series didn't get very high ratings or reviews on the IMDb .com. Overall, the series received only a mediocre 6.0. (The general rating scale for Hallmark movies on the IMDb seems to be 5.4 being a dismal low of barely watchable, to 7.6 - 8.0 being a must watch over and over favorite movie.)

The Love Club: Nicole's Pen Pal is on at 8pm ET on the Hallmark Channel
Starring: Brittany Bristow and Marcus Rosner.
Description: Freshly engaged Nicole is having second thoughts as she wonders if the one she's really meant to be with is her mystery college pen pal whose letters she has kept all these years.

At a loss of what to do, she seeks out assistance from The Love Club – four women who met 10 years prior and made a vow to always be there for one another should any of them encounter relationship challenges at any point in their lives. Nicole and the ladies of The Love Club reunite and set out to track down Nicole’s pen pal.

I'm watching Sweeter than Chocolate and I'm enjoying it.
On a funny note, I recognized the actress (Brenda Strong) who plays the mother, but I couldn't remember from where. A quick Google and I had the answer.
She was Sue Ellen Mischke on Seinfeld.

DVRed it and watched it! I really really liked it!! I always loved Eloise Mumford and now I have seen a few movies with the guy and I like him too! They were cute together... sigh I need a little romance in my life.

I finally saw Sweeter Than Chocolate. I liked it too. A very sweet movie. No pun intended. :lmao: These chocolate movies always give me cravings for chocolate while watching the movie. Glad I usually have some around. 🍫 :teeth:

I’m going to give this a shot, but I’m eager to hear what people think. It just doesn’t look very good on the surface 🤷🏽‍♀️

I normally like Brittany Bristow and Marcus Rosner. But many of the reviews on the IMDb suggested that they weren't given a very good script.

Reminder for tonight, Sunday:

The Way Home, episode 7
(of 10) premieres at 8pm ET on the Hallmark Channel.

Re-airs: Fri 3/10 at 10pm ET

Also all 7 episodes are On Demand on Spectrum Cable (and possibly other cable providers.)

No new premieres this weekend on HM&M.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to watch this movie. I was cringing at the premise, but being too lazy to turn the channel I watched it. It was ok. Predictable. Them tracking down the penpal seemed too far fetched for me, but whatever.

The Hallmark Channel website has some extras for The Way Home:

Family Comfort Recipes

Hallmark has gathered 18 recipes together from the Home & Family show, which are similar to the comfort food dishes that the characters in the The Way Home might have. For instance, for Kat, it would be Del's famous apple pie. (The Hallmark recipe given for you to make is actually actress Mary Beth Evans' recipe from when she appeared on H&F. )

Classic Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Fried Chicken and Waffles

A little heads up:

This Sunday there will be no new episode of The Way Home. Hallmark wants to give people a chance to catch up on the series, especially if you've missed some or all of the episodes.

Hallmark is showing a marathon of all 4 episodes:
The Way Home, episode 1 is at 6pm ET
The Way Home, episode 2 is at 7pm ET
The Way Home, episode 3
is at 8pm ET
The Way Home, episode 4
is at 9pm ET

Next weekend resumes with episode 5.

@flyingdumbo127 here is your chance to record all the episodes in order.
I wish I could have watched this show. But, because it was a series and not a "movie" (one complete showing) I'm certain I'll not be able to catch all of the shows and will miss something.

I ended up watching the entire Love Club movie. I’m pretty meh on the execution of the concept, which could be a great series. The actors were trying, but the script and plotting left a lot to be desired. I could watch more, but I wouldn’t make an effort to do so 🤷🏽‍♀️

Spectrum Cable has all the episodes On Demand. Maybe some other cable providers have that way too. (I don't know how that works for other companies. Whether that is a Hallmark decision as to what they want to provide On Demand or whether each cable/streaming provider gets to decide.)

I didn't watch it either when it first premiered. Once I had finally finished with the Christmas movies, I happened to watch a random episode of Downton Abbey. Next thing I know, I'm binge watching all 6 seasons again over a few weeks. popcorn::

After that was over, I haven't been able get into the idea of watching 2 hours of anything again. o_O Only a one hour episode here and there of stuff. I only recently have started watching some movies again. Not sure if I want to sit through another binge of anything, no matter how good it may be, since that was such a weird, off-putting reaction I had. 😵

Late Reminder for tonight, Saturday:

Watching Unexpected Grace on HMM and I'm really enjoying it. I remember someone posted how much she disliked Erica Durance but I adore Michael Rady so I turned it on and I really like the premise and how things are turning out.

We are watching it too! We are enjoying it.

I forgot to post a reminder that there was a new movie on HM&M. Glad you both saw it. :thumbsup2

Michael Rady is on the new season of Magnum PI, if you want to see him more regularly ☺️

I watch a show with my teenager every sunday.
I love that!

The only other other mystery series popping into my head right now is called "Crossword Mysteries," I think??

@Imzadi, thanks for the info and extras on The Way Home! I love the show, and was just watching last night's episode on DVR.

I knew Morgan was going to be a P.I. not an affair! ...and I'm equally sure that the woman at the funeral is going to be Kat.

As for Hannah Swenson, I've read and enjoyed some of the books, but agree about her stringing the two guys along too much. (Just marry Norman, for crying out out loud! :rotfl:) Also, the casting in the movies didn't quite match the characters in my head.

I taped Unexpected Grace, but haven't watched it yet.
