D23 Expo September 9-11, 2022 Superthread **Updates in Posts 2 & 3**

I've copied this floor plan layout from the 2019 D23 Expo. Anyone know if we'll see this year's floor plan before the Expo and how much it will differ this time around?

I think about a week out we might see a map. I know that I had looked at the 2017 map and then the 2019 once it came out. Most of the bigger areas were in the same or similar places, but some of the areas where different or did not have a presence.

So, I would never have guessed any of these as Legends, at least the actors, thought I should have thought about Chadwick Boseman. I am okay with them and would be interested in seeing the Legends presentation, but if I do not get a reservation, I will have to debate of if I want to wait standby. I mean I absolute am excited about Don Hahn and I have loved Idena Menzel 's voice since the Rent soundtrack in the late 90s. I just feel like there are a lot of "modern" legends in this class that maybe there are some that have been waiting longer that should be there. I understand they feel the need to group these cast members that made them a lot of money, but I guess I was hoping for more of a "wow" factor.
I think they are going to stream it so if you cant get in you can wait in line for something else and watch it on another device.

Now that submissions are closed, good luck everyone. Hopefully we can get some of our requests selected.

I just wished some of the artists for the talent selection didn't overlap with the main hall d23 panels. I had to edit some of my choices when i found out it conflicted with them.

I didn't select anything for talent because I couldn't find a talent schedule! Well, also because I didn't know who anyone was 😆

I only picked talent for friends that wanted it. I'm not really into meeting the talent or the signings.

Oh I agree, totally - I think regardless of what they say people will try to line up early. Just curious how Anaheim plans to corral people outside if they're not allowed in the building, which is IMO a more organized and safer way of doing it.

I'm with you. I plan on keeping tabs on twitter, reddit, here to see what's actually being allowed, and then get in line based on that information. I don't need to line up so early for standby because of my pass; I'm more concerned with how long security may take, and making sure I can get a good seat in the preferred section for Legends, Marvel/Lucasfilm, and Parks, since they're all in the AM each day.

At the same time, I'm wondering if it's better to hang back at the hotel until after 6, when we'll be trying to get store virtual queues. IDK if it'll make a difference if I'm surrounded by other folks trying to do the same thing, or if I'll have better luck in my room.
It will 100% affect if you are surrounded by ppl. During big congested lines at SDCC both wifi and mobile data became ridiculously slow. As in, it won't even refresh DIS boards slow.

This reinforces my decision to hang back until 6 AM, and then head over

Yup. This is my plan too. But I also have medicine I have to give to my cat at 7am so leaving before then isn't an option anyways 😂. Going to happily take advantage of not being stuck in a mass of people to try my luck for a VQ.

I’ve been reading the thread, so thank you, everyone that has been updating the info. For those of you that have the preferred seating… about what time are you planning on getting to the convention center? I’ve always been in the crowd that arrives before 5AM, and have appreciated not standing in the long lines in the sun. I think I did stand in an outside line on a Sunday morning because I wasn’t going to try to get in the D23 Hall. For the other days, I did appreciate getting to the Convention Center early and waiting inside, upstairs, and am not sure if the Sorcerers Package people also did so.

I’m planning 7am for Friday and will readjust for Saturday/Sunday from there. I don’t want to get caught up in a crazy line for security.

I'm going to be up, dressed, ready to go, and try for a VQ at 6 AM wherever I have the best reception at DLH. Then I'll hoof over. I'm more concerned for Saturday TBH since that panel is a half hour earlier, if there are any security delays. They may have a preferred security line like we did with Sorcerers, so that could help.

For context, in 2019 I got in the Sorcerer HallD23 line at 5 AM for Saturday AM and was the first in line for quite a while. But that got me front row, which was an unforgettable experience. Edit to add: our line was literally right outside the entrance door to HallD23, so it'd make sense if they kept that similar?

We're staying at the DLH, too. Not heading out so early unless we get a lottery reservation for something early. So we'll most likely wave at you from our window as you walk off 😆
