I got a notification that Away medium checked bag in coast was back in stock. I think I want navy since my carry on is navy and dd's is coast. And then I think I'll get a pet carrier. Was considering getting DS a carryon, but he doesn't like to travel so it seems silly.

If you’re booking airfare I’d rather book direct with the airline. If you need to change stuff that way you can go straight to the airline instead of having to go through Chase.
I know Chase just changed portal managers, but in the past, once I had the confirmation number, I was able to make changes I needed on my flights directly with the airlines rather than through Chase portal. I admittedly don't know if that has changed.

Toying with going for another Amex biz gold using an email offer which doesn't have the lifetime language in it. But I'm kind of worried about pushing it with Amex. Have about $7k to put on a card by Saturday (q4 estimated taxes) so I'm not sure what I can get my hands on fast enough.

There are people on r/churning that have more than 2. I haven't read anything negative but we all also know they could do it way after the fact. All depends on your risk tolerance and plan for the mr and how long until you redeem them.

question for the experts. Which card has the best rewards for groceries? We have a restaraunt and DH puts a TON of produce and such on my Disney Visa bc it gets 2% on groceries. There are a couple other things he gets that codes as groceries as well. Ideally I'd like a card that can transfer points into SW so maybe one of the Chase business cards but Idk if any of them have as high of a % on groceries. While I love Disney, we also need to be able to use rewards for flights and hotels other than Hiltons. I think we are only 2/24 between the two of us and have no business cards. Idk why he hasn't applied for any of those instead of personal cards.

I'm generally pretty risk averse, but with credit cards not so much. And I'd cash the MRs out through CS (so $1100 back on $10k in spend less the $295 annual fee). I think I'll probably take a chance.

Right now, any of the Chase Freedoms. The new SUB include 5% cash back on grocery store:
"Earn 5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including Target
or Walmart purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in the first year."

Of course you would need a CSP or CSR to be able to transfer points.

Got my notification this morning too from away! Placed my order for my first away bag. I got the bigger carry-on with the charger, the new everywhere bag, and a tech case. Total is $505 before taxes. I already have a large bag I check when I need to made by E bags. It’s a Motherlode Junior 25 inch. Had it for 12 years and the handle is getting stuck so I just emailed them for a replacement or repair. They offer a lifetime warranty. Only negative is it has to be checked so I’ll only use when I have to check a bag. Hoping to streamline and carry less when I travel in the future. 😊

First post!!! Been on many forums but this is my first on here.

So I have been huge on CC rewards the last few years. I am pretty well versed on many of the details. I have a good understanding of what I want and what cards and benefits help me in my journey. But I am newer to the Disney side of it. We now have two young one's at home.

Really the only question I have is what MCC does Disney have for Chase when buying Disney World tickets? I am in between either the Preferred or Reserve Chase card. I have already weighed many of the benefits for what I want but the Travel Credit and AF will decide on what my best value is. I want to take advantage of the 300 Credit with an item or items I know I am already going to use cash on. I am worried that I won't spend enough on the Travel Credits by next year because I have so many points already built up that I do not need to spend out of pocket against my AF (hopefully that makes sense). Will the tickets fall under the Travel Credits for the Reserve? My best guess is that it will not.

Do you have any other suggestions on what would be the best idea? Is there an outside Travel Agency that sells them that could be coded as Travel?

Welcome to the board! I would always recommend the CSR over the CSP. Aside from the higher multipliers and better benefits, you can double dip the travel credit to profit (+$50) from holding the card. As long as you use the travel credit during the first card member year and within the first 30 days of the second card member year, you can get refunded the 2nd AF and come out ahead. Plus, you get the 1.5x on PYB/Travel Portal, better dining multiplier and slightly better trip insurance. If you're concerned about spending the $300, note that you can always book a refundable Southwest flight and then cancel after the credit posts, so that the $300 can be used on other things.

@Arcades

WOW!! That is awesome. I had not even thought of a few of those points. Thank you very much for walking me through it. I think I will for sure be snagging the CSR in the next day or two.

BTW.....Go Buckeyes!!

Welcome to the thread!

A question like yours came up in the v4.0 thread:

Also, some here have shared that UCT codes as travel so that is another outlet for purchasing tickets.

I just booked our summer air travel. I booked mine with Delta points and my DH via Cap 1's travel portal (working on my Venture X MSR) which should also credit me $300 for that airfare.

Right now, my delta app is showing a pretty cheap upgrade to 1st class for one of my legs. How does one go about finding out how to upgrade the ticket we bought via Cap 1 travel portal?

It's not the end of the world if we don't, but since I only have a Delta Amex Gold that only gives me 1 checked bag free. The upgrade would include bags for DH so that would offset some of that upgrade (if it's even possible).

Does the CIC still get 5x if I order GCs at places like Staples online?

This could be really helpful, but I had somehow thought it wouldn't code at 5x.

You'd have to do in the Delta App or website with the Delta confirmation number. It may not be possible though since it was booked through an OTA, or may require a call to have Delta take control of the ticket back. It may be worth a call to see if Delta can link your PNRs together and get the free bag benefit to carry over to his PNR as well. I seem to recall hearing that people have gotten that to work with Delta previously.

I see people here talk about pop ups or being in pop up jail. But I can't figure out how that applies here.

Do you mean the reference in general? Some time ago, American Express changed their system whereby the applicant would be alerted by a pop up if they would not be eligible for the sign up bonus (either because they already had the card or some other algorithm marked them as ineligible). It gave the applicant an opportunity to cancel their application due to no SUB. In turn, some users have found if you put additional spend on various Amex cards it will cause the system to let you out of "popup jail".

Staples should still work. Office Depot online does not work.
Good way to tell is see if the URL shows something else.

ex: officedepot.com gift card portal says giftcardmall.officedepot.com (Bad)
staples.com gift card portal says www.staples.com (Good)
