We are here now and it’s crazy busy! It’s busier than when we were here for the 50th and MK was sold out that weekend so they definitely increased park capacity.

I’ve been keeping track of the week of and the week after Christmas regarding park and ticket availability and there were a ton of dates that looked like Thanksgiving week with zero availability for all four parks. Checked again today and low and behold, availability (see below). This means they’ve upped the capacity, which will be awful considering the crowds from Thanksgiving week were awful and probably had the same capacity as Christmas. If they don’t fix Genie+ issues prior to then there will be a lot of unhappy people. We are headed there the week of Christmas, and while I knew it would be crowded, I was kind of relieved that there was a cap. Now I can start stressing again.

Yeah for some reason thought I had posted that this morning but I guess it didn’t post. The updated pass availability was for Animal Kingdom and EPCOT only and I didn’t check but I was under the impression it was only one of those parks on each of those days.

Does anyone know in the past has any of the festivals at Epcot soft opened a day or 2 early? We are going to be there on the 14th of January for the opening day of Festival of the Arts, but arrive on the 9th so hoping for more Festival of the Arts days!
We were in Epcot on the day before the opening of Festival of the Arts 2021 and it did not open early. It would have been nice if it opened early because we missed it by one day. I don't see Disney opening the festivals early. It would upset all the food critics who show up to review the food at the food booths. ;)

Gideons Cake of the Month

Gideon’s has officially announced its cake flavor of the month, and it’s the Kris Kringle Cake (which is a lot like the Kris Kringle Cookie). This three-layer cake is made with vanilla cake with specks of coffee bean covered with marshmallow buttercream frosting infused with coconut and vanilla. And there’s salted caramel frosting between each layer.
