What's your supply chain issue? How's this one for a start?

Speaking of milk, is it just me or does anyone else seem to have issue with it going bad several days before the expiration date on label?
So funny you say this as I just threw out two really gross tasting Whole Foods organic milk half gallons as they were the same batch codes on the carton that were dated to expire 11/19 that I just got. My son asked me to taste it because he thought it tasted funny, it was awful and it almost made me vomit. Next time I’ll take his word for it 🤣

I can’t find Barq’s root beer in the cans anywhere. Only in liter bottles, which I never drink fast enough before It goes flat. It’s my favorite root beer brand besides IBC which gets too expensive.

There is no money in running refrigerator items out of Wisconsin. The dairy state of Wisconsin cannot find truck drivers because they make no money delivering refrigerated items, because they can only drive so many hours a day. With the price of diesel and keeping their trailers cold, there is no money to be made.

Grandchildren have taken over my life. 4 boys born in the last year and 2 were identical twins. 8 grand babies under 5. We drove 3 times out to CT this year to see baby, then Christening and just got back from our Fall trip. My daughter that used to live in Chicago moved up to Wisconsin. It was always nice to stay by her for the night and not push that last 3 hours home. Another crazy week starts Monday, I work, then head to my daughters to help with the twins and their sister till bed time.
You are an awfully nice grandma 😃

This popped up on my news feed. An issue I had not heard of before with truckers, not fuel costs, the applicants for truck driving jobs can't pass the Federally mandated drug tests! https://nypost.com/2021/11/07/supply-chain-stalled-by-72000-truckers-who-failed-drug-tests/

I find it hilarious that some people that want weed legal, claim that it does not affect their mental status and yet we have these mandates because we know it does. This is just the start of issues with making weed legal since most blue collar jobs have drug testing now. I am not saying that it should or shouldn't be legal, not at all, just that we are now seeing the side affects of it.

Well, at least in my former industry, drug testing went away in the last few years replaced by criminal background checks. Too many applicants taking legal and prescribed medicines that threw the tests off, and in some cases that resulted in lawsuits. But we are not a Federally regulated industry like trucking is, and of course while weed is legal under many state laws, it isn't under Federal law.

We sell electronic components and build PCB's in China. It's not unusual to be quoted a 50 - 80 + week lead times on certain items right now. We have some boards coming over from China and they wanted to send them via boat! NO WAY! So we have to pay an arm and a leg to get them shipped air freight.

It's a brutal market for electronics.

Juice boxes. Our juice box selection has been sparse at all of the area stores we shop at. The last time I can remember seeing the brand my son likes was back in May, but the shortage seems to be all brands. The shelves are just bare.

Everything seems to be hit or miss. If we want to get everything on our list we can expect to visit three different stores. Typically we just go without the missing items though.

It wouldn't surprise me but this does seem to be a sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't. I'm not sure if there is a rhyme or reason to why sometimes it lasts longer and sometimes it's days before.

Coke Zero -- again. It started running low in stock just before Halloween, and it's disappearing here as we get closer to the Thanksgiving holidays. I asked a Coke vendor about it the last time this happened back in the early summer; he said that particular syrup is imported.

The sad reality is we wouldn't have as many issues if we produced these things domestically. Sure there may be a delay as it travels over land with the shortage of truck drivers, but I thought we would have learned as a nation when the pandemic began and we were dependent on China for all of our N95 masks.

Milk and half and half. I can get milk usually, but not always. Half and half has been super hard to get and the last 3 times I've been to the store they've been entirely out. I did get some heavy cream, though.

yes, my daughter's cat is so picky and I jave trouble every time I look to restock.
Costco here have limited the number of bags you can buy to two, but they were available to buy today for the first time in a while. My golden retriever inhales food (every time I feed him he acts as though he is starving and he actually barks to let me know it’s time to feed him in the morning and evening) and eats anything but the supposedly feral cats are very particular.

It’s the cardboard boxes made in “wait for it” Other countries. Blame Kimberly Clark and Proctor and Gamble moving out of Wisconsin and left to Mexico. Our paper mills in Wisconsin are almost all shut down.

Nail on head! Most of our prices are due to OTHER COUNTRIES that we have become dependent on. The supply chain for all kinds of parts, components and ingredients has slowed - mostly because the whole world has been impacted by the pandemic. But also because China, OPEC, etc are in a position of great control and we can't do anything about it in short term.

You are correct in terms of production and product availability. On the flip side while the products will be accessible if made here, the prices will remain high. It's a lose/lose and win/win situation.

Recently my son's GPU went bad in his gaming computer. We don't have a spare GPU and the computer wont work without one, so we had to buy one to even diagnose whether it was just the GPU that was affected. (He overclocked the GPU and so maybe some other parts failed too, we still don't know because we can't get parts!)

Went online to try to buy one, and even a 4 year old GPU, identical to his, was going for $600-$700. For reference, we paid about $130 for this card on Black Friday special when it was brand new!

I decided to just buy him a new prebuilt computer so he didn't have to be missing his computer and can you believe that a moderately good gaming computer is going for about $1400 now? I had some sticker shock for sure. So basically, I had to spend $1400 to replace a computer that would have cost $100-$300 to fix pre-pandemic.
