STEAKHOUSE 71!!

There must be an issue with December bookings as when I look at the ADR availability calendar for a certain "ADR finder" website, this is what the end of November & beginning of December looks like and you can see that the whole month of December is greyed out..

WAIT...maybe this is just how the every-other month looks...

here is BOG - and its 100% booked for December too....so maybe SH71 IS just booked for December??

I tried calling yesterday about the apparent December glitch and it was going to be over a 2 hour wait, so I hung up. I tried going the online chat route. It took 7 hours for someone to respond. Yep, 7 hours! And then all she said was that it was full. I tried to explain that it wouldn't even allow anyone to check availability and that something must be wrong, but got absolutely nowhere. It's so frustrating. I'm having the same issue with the Rose and Crown fireworks package, though I don't really care as much about that one. My husband and son really want to eat at Steakhouse 71 though, so I guess I'll keep stalking!
 
All of these stories of glitches, long waits, and inaccurate responses from support team showing they don’t even understand the problem has me convinced genie plus will launch flawlessly and be amazing at launch.

Seriously though how can a company as large as Disney have so many it issues and not fix them? Not even that, it seems every system is getting worse and worse.

I'm now on hold for this exact reason. Beyond frustrating. Can't even try and do online chat. How are they not understanding that all of Dec is messed up because they don't list available hours for each meal. Doesn't help that Star Cruiser bookings opened today for a select group.

Good luck! Hopefully you will get to talk to someone that takes you seriously and doesn't just give you the "it's all booked" spiel. Maybe they will believe us on Dec 1 when the restaurant is empty :sad2: .

Either way, please let us know what the tell you.
 
Anyone book Steakhouse 71, then try to cancel and it says you must call to cancel? When I do call, the customer service rep said it is cancelled, but then it stills shows up under my plans on the MDE.

Eta: Sorry didn't realize this was discussed on the previous page. Good to know that others are having the same issue.

Basically I got very little help, but got through the chat before the phone and the person I "talked"
to understood that it wasn't fully booked at least. They also show no hours starting Dec 1st and haven't been told when it would open up so there's nothing really that they can do either unfortunately. Basically I asked if my only option was to basically check everyday and he said that's the best option at the moment. Not at all annoying...
 
Steakhouse 71 Lounge Question:

Has anyone tried to access the lounge? If so, what is the best method? Is it hard to get into? Does it require you to use a virtual walk-up list?
 
I had the same issue this morning and got the same story when I called about it being booked - but thought the same thing there are no meal times listed like there are for other unavailable restaurants. Very odd. I hope they fix it soon.
 
We gonna get the short end of the stick however this shakes out. But the answer is NOT that the restaurant is booked all month. It's not available yet. I need 12/4 badly.

I’m booked at French Quarter 12/4-12/12. Today is the first day I can make reservations but the dates of my whole stay have opened up. How can 12/12 be all booked up already when there should be a very few amount of people that can book today.

It's not booked. For some reason they haven't opened up Dec yet for booking.

I have given up on a bunch of restaurants I have wanted to book. Nothing from day one. I wanted the fireworks dinner at Epcot. Tried every date we are there and both dessert parties. It ridiculous how hard it is to book anything!

I did well but wasn't looking for fireworks dinner. We booked times other than what we wanted but were then able to change the times to closer to what we wanted - for our entire stay.
:tink:to all who are trying to schedule/re-schedule dining, and to all awaiting Steakhouse 71 in December.

That actually happened with Oga's Cantina a few weeks go. There were no reservations the entire first week (and a bit into the second week) of November. It was wild. Then one morning i think they fixed it because reservations were opening like crazy.
