Hello

I’m back! This trip was a whirlwind, it went by so fast. I hate when that happens.

I did not take notes for this trip so I will give you all a quick novella lol

It will be called The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!

First the good

1. Well of course being at WDW is the best!
2. Good flights, arrived a little early and left just a tad late
3. We loved our one night at All Stars ️ Movies, our room was in a quiet corner of the Toy Story section. We had a preferred room. We loved the theming and our room was clean and quiet. It was our first time here.
4. We made it to Gideon’s our first night and loved the whole concept of the shop, oh yeah the cookies aren’t bad either! Yummy. We got 2 chocolate chip, 1 cookies and cream and 1 chocolate chip, pistachio toffee OMG, this one was my favorite! These lasted our entire trip. So big!
5. We ate some really good food this trip. We had meals At Frontera Cocina ️Flower and Garden booths ️Yak and Yeti ️, Beaches and Cream ️, Liberty Tree Tavern ️, Mama Melrose ️, Hanger Bar ️,and Ale and Compass️ These we’re our favorites!
6. Walk ability to Epcot was wonderful, we spent a lot of time there, eating and drinking around the world
7. We also walked to HS a couple times and loved this
8. Spent a fun day at Universal and Andi tackled the new Velocicoaster, crazy fast Rollercoaster
9. I was able to meet up with Ariane and spend time visiting with her and Steve in Epcot! I also met Samantha at Epcot! We didn’t get pictures, what the heck!
10. We got to ride all our favorite rides at each park and for all of you keeping count, we did get 4 rides on Dinosaur

Now for the Bad!

1. So busy, rope drop is just weird now, it felt busy no matter what time we went to the park.
2. I miss FP and extra magic hours
3. All our park touring experience didn’t help at all this trip.
4. A couple times the buses took forever!
5. Our cell service wasn’t the best in our room and we only got a boarding pass 1 time! So glad we got one, love this attraction.
6. We did love the Yacht Club except this time our room wasn’t as nice as before. It was also noisy. We were next to the Captain’s suite and a lot of parties going on in there. The plus was we were not far from the Market Place.
7. So. Much. Construction everywhere including the YC
8. It was August hot this week, down right steamy, sweat glistening everywhere, type of hot! It also stormed a few times and we even lost power at the YC for about an hour!

Oh no it is time for the Ugly!

1. Our room after 7 nights, yikes! The lack of housekeeping is just gross. This is poor service on Disney’s part. Covid-19 is no longer a valid reason to not clean a room. Disney is packing the parks and a CM coming into the room alone with a mask on is very safe! This makes my blood boil I did send an email about my concerns and the head of housekeeping at the YC did call me. I thought that was very nice, however, I would have liked a clean room instead!
2. The increasing of park capacity without enough CM’s, shows, entertainment, and restaurants is also a bad decision in my opinion
3. We saw so many people just sitting around on the curbs and walkway areas in the parks. This was weird, it is like there isn’t enough to do so people just plopped down on the ground.

I think that is it for now! Did you notice the ugly was only 3, thank goodness! We really did have a wonderful trip and now I would like to Spam you all with a bunch of pictures!!

OH dear!

Ha the name does sum up the trip, mostly good with a little bad and ugly mixed in!

The BEST!!

Delta airlines has been so good lately. They have a newer CEO and he really has turned it around. On time flights and much better customer service.

I LOVED it!! I have a fun video coming up from there.

I did too what a cool store, we couldn’t finish all of our cookies either. I want to go back again in August.

That's the one I got too and not only did it last the whole trip I actually tossed the last few bites. Just too much for me!

That one was so good. My favorite for sure. I want to go twice in August so I can bring some home for family. My husband would love one of the cookies

I honestly don't think I could do this one.

It goes from 0 to 70 in under 3 seconds and you are static upside down over the water for a few seconds, big fat no for me. Andi did say it was so smooth and because of that she didn’t feel like you were going as fast.

Despite the crowds we did get on all the rides we wanted to for the most part except we couldn’t ride things more than once

Exactly, even the housekeeping manager agreed with me. You know as a nurse, we work hard and the last thing I want to do on my vacation is make my own bed and clean my resort room, yuck no thanks. If Disney had said, we will be reducing our rates significantly because there aren’t many amenities I would be more understanding but to raise the prices to some really ridiculous rates is not cool.

It was showing last time too. And it's only going to get worse. I'm glad they started the DCP back up, maybe that will help a little.

I sure hope staffing, amenities, attractions, restaurants and shows improve in the next couple months.

Yikes!! They need to bring back FP and open up all the shows. If they are increasing capacity, they can't keep other things at a limited number or closed.

This is just ridiculous! There should be daily housekeeping. As a DVC member, we only get trash and towel on day 4 and a thorough cleaning on day 8. But you know that it is one of the things with DVC and are prepared for it. Cash stays should have full housekeeping.

The rack rates are over the top ridiculous!!!! Then we Canadians have to add on another 20% due to the exchange rate. There is no way I would be able to afford a deluxe any more with out a significant discount.

All those things scare me for our August trip. We booked this trip 6 months ago and I was okay with the COVID restrictions, reduced amenities when we booked our trip. I knew exactly what I was signing up for, but with all the recent changes I'm not happy anymore.

They've done away with COVID restrictions but don't have the CM capacity to return to normal capacity.

Our trip is in 39 days, I really hope mousekeeping is back to normal. And that they have enough park CMs to run all available rides at full capacity.

Did the manager give any indications as to when mousekeeping would return?

Glad to hear that your stay at Movies was nice! I'm sure I will end up staying there are some point, especially since I always hear such good things! I cannot wait to try that pistachio cookie at Gideon's, it looks so delicious. I tried Crumbl Cookies this weekend, which is probably the closest to gourmet cookies I will get here! All of your Epcot food looks so good, it seems they are always improving the festival options.

Definitely a bummer on the bad list, I think Disney needs to bring back FPs as soon as possible! I spent a weekend in Chicago recently and did not have housekeeping, it was nice for two nights but I cannot imagine going an entire week without. I'm not sure why I am so much messier on vacation or maybe my standards are just higher Hopefully the college program starting means they will be able to staff more housekeepers and bring back cleaning every few days at the very least. Too bad about the noisy room at Yacht Club, and I feel like we always hear that it is such a quiet resort!

Sounds like overall it is definitely not the most ideal time in the parks, but of course being at WDW is better than not being at WDW! Hopefully they will start getting things back to normal over the next couple of months as they prepare for the 50th. I finally have some trips planned again but not until fall/winter so fingers crossed they will bring back FP or some version of max pass by then! I am really hoping they do not do anything like Express pass at Universal, WDW is just too long of a vacation to pay that much every day!

Love the Cruella magic shot! Have you seen it yet? I just saw it last week and was so surprised by how much I liked it, I hadn't seen the trailer and it was so much better than I expected. Definitely a more adult Disney film and I loved that, such good music too despite not being any Disney music!

So our longest stay post-COVID has been 6 nights but in the same room, 5 nights. And I agree here too; if it went another day or two I would have felt the need to clean myself for sure. When the boys were with us in Nov. thank goodness we had a 1 bedroom 2 bath at BLT because with four in a room and no housekeeping for 5 nights it's REALLY bad! This needs to go back to normal. I know they've recently hired new housekeeping CM's so hopefully soon we see this improve.
