I was under the impression that MMRR at HS opened after RotR? Maybe I'm wrong. :confused3

But, I think they are both the most popular rides (a.k.a. sought after), by far, on both coasts.

I was referring to Rise and WEB at DLR, but you are right in that MMRR opened later than Rise at HS. It still had a very high demand though!

Not trying to be nit-picky to you, especially, but seriously thought I may have had my dates wrong. You're point is well taken/understood; the demand/entry to RotR are almost is orders-of-magnitude more challenging to secure than MMRR at HS.

I mean, newest isn't guaranteed to be hte most popular, but it's a safe bet. Still, I wonder how Rise would run if they just had a regular line without FP. I bet it would operate similarly to any other new, popular ride.

See, I remember when the newest attraction at HS was Lightning McQueen's and hardly drew an audience (or perhaps still is challenged). I tend to agree that, due to popularity, RotR still demands the current queuing methodology. We kept telling ourselves, this is just a temporary wave and will subside (we were wrong); the customer demand is the highest and longest I have ever seen or anticipated.

@YAY Helvetica!!
I've been out of town for a few days but have been reading from my phone and was rooting for you with RoTR!! So happy for you :)

Also, thanks for all the pics and on-the-ground reports. We are going next month and this is clearly not going to be like any other trips over the past year! We've got 2 people coming with us that haven't been in a long time (DD's friend who hasn't been since pre-Fantasyland expansion!) So helpful to know with planning.

Isn’t Rise in Disneyland Park and Web slingers is in California Adventure? Maybe that is why you can only have 1 at a time. If you have to have a park reservation to get one, so you can only get in the virtual queue for the ride in the park you start in?

Yes Galaxy's Edge is in Disneyland Park and Avengers Campus is in California Adventure.

Lightning McQueen was the longest wait I had of any attraction in Feb. Of course that was because it was running at like 1/8 capacity, but still.

If it was a fully operational battlestation it'd get through people similarly to RnRC. Problem is still the inconsistent operation of the ride itself on a day to day basis. They'll get there eventually I hope, but until then boarding groups are here for the long term.

Well, I mean, look, things like Racing Academy aren't really on the same level. You know what I'm talking about, the "E Ticket" stuff.

“Perhaps most interesting is that Chapek reiterated that the Disney Park Pass reservation system would be used even in a post-pandemic environment as a means of managing demand and ticket pricing

This sounds a bit ominous to me. If they can show (with a year's worth of data right now) that DHS is more "in demand" than Epcot... how "dynamic" is the pricing going to become?

Definitely ominous! I have a feeling that Disneyland & California Adventure will be use as a litmus test for this. I'm starting to feel like we're being punished for being bad. He's taking our toys away (APs) and limiting our play time. 😂

In all fairness, something did have to be done about Disneyland. In all of the years that I've been an AP, the parks just got busier and busier, there were no quiet times and it was getting tough to enjoy it. And true, some AP holders don't spend as much as Disney would like. But I did the math for myself personally, I definitely spend more at the park over the course of a year as an AP than I do buying the occasional day ticket.

Plus, the had a whole year to come up with a new program. It really stings to have nothing still but to be told they value our loyalty with a free magnet that a lot of APs can't even get into the park to pick up.

I'm really hoping WDW allows sales of APs soon, I need to be an AP. It's a sickness!

I really want to join the AP club too! My husband just surprised me last weekend with a second trip in 2022 so now I have an excuse (need) to be an AP! I've caught the sickness.

I get the AP sickness- I was able to renew our Gold passes for this July's trip because they were canceled during the pandemic. I'd be really sweating this trip with no AP and no DDP otherwise!

I don't mind them doing something to improve the experience in the parks- but wonder just how much further they can tweak the pricing...

I’ll take that as a request!!!! AP Dance. ON IT!!!! 💃🏻 😉 (PS - what a wonderful surprise!!!)
Thank you. And it truly was!...he said "by the way, I have a conference to attend in WDW, I was thinking we could extend my stay and we could experience the parks with just us for a few days before/after the conference (our sons are going with us in May). Then, you could go to the parks solo while I have meetings." Um...yes please!!!!

Morning everyone from AOA! It’s gorgeous here. A couple of news things I can report.
1. We landed yesterday at 3:02pm and we’re on DME by 3:37. That includes time to taxi in on plane, and a bathroom stop. Lots of buses were waiting, leaving, arriving. I was afraid of long lines but it was super fast.
2. Mug refill station at AOA is serve yourself. Capt. Cooks at the Poly still had a CM filling cups from behind a table.
3. We ate dinner at Tambu lounge and Ohana is very sad, chairs all stacked on tables. But the flatbreads from Tambu are amazing! And you can sit next to Ohana on the other side of the bar if you miss the atmosphere as much as we do.
4.Skyliner is still loading 1 party per vehicle, distancing markers on ground. Super quick ride from AOA to DHS to get a bus to Poly at 5:46 yesterday. Boat from Poly to MK was distancing so only about 4 families on the boat.
I have a few pictures that for some reason keep rotating when I insert them. After coffee, I may try again to figure out.
We have Topolinos this morning at 8:15 and our plan to skyliner over didn’t take into consideration that the Epcot line isn’t running that early, I guess we’ll have to Uber. Then off to Springs for a while!
