Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I'm excited that Cape May will be open for our July trip, though my go-to there has always been the steamed clams - I used to get my month's worth of iron in one dinner there :) Sounds like those will be included in the "seafood boil," just not in the quantity I'm accustomed to.

I have some information about the boat to Hollywood Studio.

They are currently running four boats to DHS, starting at 8am for a 9am park opening. (We saw all four at once). One boat sits at Boardwalk, one at Yacht Club and one at Swan/Dolphin. The fourth boat comes in from the Epcot side of the lake and goes to the BW after the first boat leaves, then YC, then S/D, then DHS.

We crossed the bridge between the Yacht Club and S/D at 8:08am and the fourth boat was heading to the Yacht Club. The first three boats unloaded at DHS very quickly. The fourth boat got to the DHS boat dock just about the same time as we got to the temperature check point, around 8:26am.

Last week, The cast member told us that the resort (YC) was “fully booked”, emphasis on “fully”. And it seemed as such.
It does seem like the Yacht Club is full right now. This is our fourth stay at the YC since reopening but the first time we are seeing a lot more people in the resort. Most people are willing to share an elevator now because so many of us are vaccinated. The conversation goes something like this,
"Do you want to ride with us, we've been vaccinated."
"Thanks, we're vaccinated, too." ;)

Back in October and January when the virus was raging and the vaccines weren't widely available yet, sharing an elevator was just not done. Now people are more relaxed about people around other people.

I will say that it’s pretty impressive @Wood Nymph sniffed out this scoop days before the official announcement and any Disney blog. Nice work!
Wood Nymph drains the basket from way, way downtown. Like Steph Curry!
Thanks for the compliments. I'm just a very inquisitive person and like to ask questions. :)

We currently have breakfast ADRs booked for our 2 Epcot days at Trattoria al Forno and Ale & Compass. We've never eaten at either but we also have never eaten at Cape May. Would you swap one of these for a breakfast at Cape May, provided we could get an ADR? Our family is myself, DH and three teen DDs (19, 16, 14) and we love a good breakfast.

Ale and Compass has a good breakfast but I would probably swap this one for Cape May. :)

We enjoyed the breakfast at both A&C and Trattoria and they feature a la carte menus. When Cape May opens it won’t be a buffet. It will be an all you care to eat served family style. Whether that’s appealing might depend on if your teens are big eaters or not.

Just an FYI...Beaches and Cream is not available for take-out ice cream. I wanted to get a milkshake or an ice cream cone and walk around outside of the resort, so we were pretty disappointed. Not really sure why we couldn’t get takeout ice cream.

It has been closed since Dec. I'm surprised you were unware of this. (not being snarky) You could of have gotten a shake at Martha's Vineyard though.

Is there a particular time it will open - possibly at the same time as 60 day ADR windows open?
Well, technically May 7 starts at midnight Eastern time

I plan on checking at 11pm central just in case Thurs night

Then I['ll be up at 5AM in case it's as you say. But my 60 day window is in the past so I should be able to do it when ever it opens.

I may even check during the day tomorrow in case they open it early.

Thanks! I was afraid that I had missed the ADRs opening. My 60 day mark has also passed. I'll keep checking, too. I guess if it is meant to be, it will work out.

Ashamed to admit I have never actually eaten at Cape May. I know I could look this up in shorter time than it took to write this, but how does the new dinner plus crab leg per pound add on cost compare to the prior price?
