Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

From experience: tell them how you plan to do things and don’t be scared to leave folks. This ain’t Saving Private Ryan lol. Try to meet up for meals or certain attractions. Too much togetherness will make y’all want to strangle each other anyway, no matter how well you otherwise get along. Disney is over stimulating and stress inducing at times.
It helps that our 1st trip was our "once and done" trip, so we did everything! I prepared so stinking well, there wasn't a single regret (except maybe waiting in the line for Na'vi River journey instead of doing FOP again!). So this trip we won't feel the need to do it all. (We also live near DL, so that helps with not doing it all) But we are still paying an arm and a leg, so we want our money's worth. The niece will be 5 and honestly she's not horribly adventurous, so I'm not expecting her to want to go on much. (mine will by 9,12, 13 and are up for anything) We tried to push it off another year when she'd be a bit taller but they wanted to go 2022. Hoping Grandma covers that gap and can watch her or take her on small stuff so the rest of us can do E-ticket rides. And Grandma doesn't think she'll be able to walk as much as we did last time. So navigating all that variety should be interesting, especially given the itineraries I had the 1st time were super planned out. So we will "do us", but more casually and plan in "whole group time" and "Grandma rest time". lol

I'm excited to be returning to BC May 30-June 3 after several stays at Riviera in the last year. Thank you all for the updates. I suddenly want to book a cabana!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

I read that there is a small lazy river at YC storm-a-long bay... is that true? If so, are we allowed to bring our own noodles to the pool?

Me, too! I never even thought about a cabana until I started reading this thread... LOL!

Yes, you may use your own noodles at the pool. In the past noodles have been available for purchase for around $5 each. OUCH!
:scared1:

Arm floaties for young children are allowed if the kids are within arms length of an adult.

Other floats are not permitted, except for those provided by the resort- clear tubes and personal floatation devices "life jackets"

Hi ! Quick 1 nighter! A few pix of Easter Eggs. Our room a king with shower and large patio. Great location. It’s near pool, ice maker and side door to boats etc .

King room with shower. 1054. Great Cr trap location! Larger balcony!

Thank you so much for the Easter egg pictures and pictures and detailed description of your room.

Very helpful!

:thumbsup2

Checked in today after a night at BLT. Seeing the Easter eggs in the lobby was a nice surprise, I didn’t think they were doing any this year. Glad @trishadono posted pictures, mine kept coming up sideways. 🙄 Didnt see any eggs at CR, will try to see if Beach Club & BWI have any.

We’re missing club level but at least we got our favorite view looking out at the lighthouse right over the back entrance. I cancelled our cabana rental for Saturday because the high is only predicted to be 70. Even being from Western NY, 70 is not high enough for us to spend the day at the pool. After trying to get thru to the enchanting extras line on the phone for most of the afternoon, I had to get the front desk to cancel it for me. Called about 6 times over an hour with call not even getting thru, then spent 35 minutes on hold without talking to anyone. Did I mention I‘m missing club level? :rotfl2:
I really like the new lobby colors & decor. I sat in the lobby for a bit waiting for my to go order from Ale & Compass & the furniture is a lot more comfortable than the old stuff was.

Tomorrow is DS’s birthday, headed to Studios. 🤞🏻For ROTR for him. Looking forward to riding MMRR for the first time.

Thank you for the live report. Sounds like you were able to score a reservation for ROTR. Hooray!

:chewy:

I booked a split stay in June which is actually two bookings. Both were booked with the same PIN.

Thank you for the verification.

::yes::

I called to book a package for our trip in June. While I was on the phone the lady told me I had a pin on my account, I used it to book a room for me and another for my parents. I actually called my mom and got us on a conference call and she was able to use her own CC with my pin. So, I know 2 rooms are possible.

Excellent! Thanks for the info.

Are you staying at the Yacht Club or Beach Club in June?

:cool2:

Just wanted to say we moved resorts today. After some thought, we’ve made the decision to stay at CBR instead of BCV in Sept 2021. Please remove us from the “Be Our Guest”. Maybe one day in the future we can do a deluxe.

Thanks for letting us know. Have a fantastic trip!

Hey everyone, BC newbie here! I just booked our first trip back to WDW since 2014! We'll be staying at BC in a standard view room June 19-27. We're surprising our girls with this trip, especially the oldest as she missed out on so much in 2020. I'm a total over planner, you should see my spreadsheets from our 2014 trip. But I'm trying to leave this trip much more relaxed.

Anyway, my first of many questions and also to hop on the Cabana theme in recent posts......We are thinking of doing a cabana rental at Stormalong mid-way through the trip. I read that currently they are renting for the full day, to 7pm or something like that. If we wanted to use the cabana say from 10-1 or whatever, then go to Epcot for a couple of hours, could we return to the cabana until our rental time is up? Or if the daughter's wanted to stay at the cabana (oldest is 19) could they do so while DH and I go have a nice meal?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Wishing you a fantastic trip. Planning can be half of the fun!

Others have given you great answers to your cabana questions.

Hey everyone it’s been way too long that we have planned a stay at YC! So the family had a trip planned for this Spring Break (April9-17) but hubby found out he would still need to come home and quarantine even being fully vaccinated so the trip is now my two daughters, myself and my bestie!!! So excited for a girls trip!
Here’s my question... I vaguely remember off menu drinks at HH. Would anyone be willing to share their favorite drinks from HH? Bonus points for pics!
Thanks in advance! Gretchen

:welcome: back!

Girls trips are awesome! Hope you have a blast!

I'll add you to the list.

:cheer2:

:thanks:

We stayed at the Yacht Club from Feb 28th to March 5th in a garden view room.

Yacht Club - room 2012

As always, thank you for the helpful information!

:goodvibes

We are booked at beach club in June. 4 adults, one child. We have standard view. Any suggestions on room requests?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list.

As others have suggested, a request for a full balcony is recommended since this will give you some additional space to spread out. It also wouldn't hurt to emphasize the need for a daybed.

"4 adults, 1 child on reservation- daybed needed. Full balcony, please. "

::yes::

Is this true of both dvc and cash rooms?? I didn’t realize there were so many without balconies! You have me reconsidering the room request I put in.

:welcome:

When is your trip?

As others have said, all BCV rooms have full balconies. Some are larger than others.

:thumbsup2

What's the chance that a YC garden view room DOES NOT have a sleeper sofa? Although there are only 4 in my family, I really need the sleeper sofa for my kids. I will put in a request for that but want to know what's my chance of not getting it. TIA.

:welcome:

When is your trip?

We are not really sure how many rooms at the resort have daybeds. Are your children different genders? If so, I would add that to your room request. "Room with daybed, please. Children of different genders" Not sure if that will help, but gives an additional reason for the request.

can someone describe what the yc quiet pool is like and its location?

There is a map of the YC/BC resort on Page 1 of this thread.

There might be pictures of the YC quiet pool, but searching for them exceeds the limit on time that I will allow myself procrastinate.

and, i'm not sure if someone replied to me yet, but i really want a yc room with a walk in shower. we have four people in a water view room , how can we request this, please advise. thank you everyone!

Just call CRO & make that a request. “Walk in shower, please”. As with all requests, it’s not guaranteed & the more requests you have, the less likely you are to get them.

I love the Yacht Club quiet pool - which is called the Admiral pool. If you walk from the lobby toward the YC marketplace you will see the doors to the quiet pool at the end of the hallway. The quiet pool is large and usually empty. The most people I've seen at it when I was there might have been six people. They have a lot of seats in the sun with a few tables with umbrellas. They have a good size whirlpool with a lot of lounges in the shade. The laundry room is located there, making it easy to relax at the pool while doing your laundry. :)

What time is the BC main pool open until? And when are the quiet pools open until? Are the hot tubs always open?

SAB hours are currently 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM, gate controlled and monitored by CMs. Posted hours for quiet pools are 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM with no real enforcement. Same applies for hot tubs at the quiet pools. I've seen people in both the pool and hot tubs before 7:00 AM and after 11:00 PM.

Hello, I just booked a stay at the YC (water view) for my dd and me June 17-24! Please add us to the Guest List. This will be our first time staying at the YC! We usually stay at the Poly, but wanted the ability to walk to two parks. I have been reading many posts here, thanks for all of the valuable info.
