A Birthday, Besties, and Bubbly...with Jen and Joe on the Go!!! 9/29 Link to New Report and We're Back Again!

We've only done Boathouse once but we enjoyed it. I was a little perplexed by its "signature" status but otherwise the seafood was great and we loved their fries. Ditto on doing WBG once too but it really made an impression. Definitely one of my new favorite spots. Can't wait to see what you think about brunch.
I don't think it's much of a Signature either.
I am really excited about brunch. The menu looks really good!!!

The watermelon slicer is crazy. Who thinks of these gadgets? :)

I also introduced Ariane to my favorite wine, Jam Jar. This is a sweet white and one I buy all the time at home!!!
Do you buy it at Binny's? I keep meaning to try this wine because I would probably like it.

I have read some good reviews about the Boathouse and thought it would make a good place to eat outdoors. I think your wedge salad looks delicious. :) I might have to add it to our ADRs for October.

September Trip Update and Plans...😁

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your weekend. We don't have much planned beyond filming another vlog and editing quite a few others. So, I thought I would tell you all about our updated and ever-changing September trip plans. I think it'll be easiest to go by date...Let me also say I am super excited about this trip because we'll be spending time with family in St Pete and family and friends in the Disney bubble!!! ❤ I am so grateful.

Friday, September 18: We fly into Tampa bright and early this day. Yep, booked the earliest flight again, but SW did push it back a few hours. I think we land in Tampa at about 11. From there, we will pick up our bags and the rental car and drive over to Joe's parents. I'm sure Nella will have lunch waiting for us or Joe may suggest ahead of time that we go to the Thai place on the beach that we all love...
We don't have much else planned, just spending time with the parents, swimming and I'm sure eating a ton (as usual while we are in St Pete).

Saturday, September 19: I think Joe and I are planning on spending time at the pool or the beach this day and of course having dinner with Joe's parents. We were also thinking about booking a wine tasting...So, we shall see...

Sunday, September 20: This is going to be a BUSY day! We are packing up and moving out. LOL! Today is the day we start the Disney portion of this trip. We are picking Gia up bright and early and making the 1 hour and 15-minute drive to Orlando. We promised Gia we would head straight to DS so she could spend some time in the World of Disney store before our brunch reservation at Wine Bar George.

After brunch, we have a reservation booked at Beaches and Cream for dessert! I am finally going to get that No Way Jose sundae!!! I am totally craving it!!!! This will be a surprise for Gia and Beaches and Cream.:rolleyes1 You see, Gia isn't on that reservation because she wasn't originally coming with us (Gia's doctor has since given her the all-clear to go to Disney). I am praying B&C won't have a problem adding Gia on at the last minute. There's currently no availability at the restaurant and I'm unsure about how the process will be showing up with an extra person not listed on the reservation. I'm hoping her cuteness will help in our favor. Hee! Hee! After dessert, we are hoping we will have received our room ready text at the Contemporary Resort. We are hoping for a few hours to chillax before dinner at Trattoria al Forno (we may hit up Abracadabar too).

Monday, September 21: Today, Joe and I are going to the Magic Kingdom and I'm so happy it will be decorated for Halloween!!! Gia's parents will pick her up and they are checking into the CR for the night. We have lunch booked at Liberty Tree Tavern and we plan on taking the day slowly. We have no immediate plans for this park other than trying to ride HM and getting a Dole Whip. Oh, I also want to get a few of the Halloween desserts that are making their way back for the holiday. Anything else will be a bonus. For dinner, we are meeting up with Julie, Todd, and Gia and have reservations at Kona Cafe. We are also praying there isn't a long wait at the Pineapple Lania to get dessert.

Tuesday, September 22: This is Epcot day, but we are starting with a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's. I know, I always tell everyone NOT to eat here. I am breaking my own rule because there's a new menu, no characters, and the food is now served family-style to the table. PLUS, it's now dirt cheap in terms of Disney prices ( I believe $25 pp). I'm curious to see if the food quality has gotten better...I'm not holding my breath...

There will be more Food and Wine booths open so that will be the focus of Epcot. Oh, and I'd like to ride Frozen Ever After since we ran out of time to ride it in July.

Dinner tonight is back at the CR at Cali Grill. I promise to be much better behaved. LOL! Oh, wait! We haven't gotten to that part of the TR yet...You all are in for a treat?!?!

Wednesday, September 23: Today we are back at the MK. No specific plans, other than lunch at The Plaza.

For dinner, we have something special planned with some special friends!!!! But, that will all have to be kept a secret for now...😁

Thursday, September 24: Today, we are meeting those same, special friends at HS. We will be starting with lunch at an undisclosed location (undisclosed to all of you). Then, Joe and I are heading back to Oga's for some drinky drinks, most likely a Fuzzy Taun Taun for me.

As far as rides, I'm hoping to ride Slinky Dog Dash this time, since we missed it in July.

Joe and I have dinner booked at the Grand Floridian Cafe, but that may change as we have something else brewing...It just depends on the crowd levels in the evening at DS. With the parks closing earlier, beginning September 8th, I'm afraid DS is going to be packed.

Friday, September 25: Breakfast today will be at the Grand Floridian Cafe. Yes, we are going back. That citrus honey butter has my name on it. From there, Joe and I will be spending the day at AK. This turned out to be our favorite park day last trip so we wanted to end our trip there. Again, no specific plans but I will be thrilled if we can get on FOP and the safari...

Dinner tonight will be at The Wave with those same friends...I bet you all have no idea who we will be hanging with????

Saturday, September 26: We check out of the CR and say goodbye to WDW. Actually, it's never goodbye, as much as it's see you later. We have plans to go back in February...But, not before we have brunch at Chef Art Smith's and do some last-minute shopping in DS. Then, we drive back to St Pete for the night.

Sunday, September 27: We will have a leisurely day hanging around with Joe's mom and dad. I think our flight leaves around 5 pm. Then. it's back to the grind: work, cleaning the house and doing all that vacation laundry.

I am very excited about this trip. It's only 20 days away...We have a lot planned but have built-in enough time to relax. We are actually planning on spending some time at the CR pool.

We are grateful that we get to see our family and spend time with some dear friends. There are others who may be showing up...Plans may still change and others may be modified. But, it's all ok because we will be on vacation and as long as we get to see our family and friends, that's what's most important!!!

Until then, I will do my best to finish up this current TR before the next one starts...

I know, right! It was so easy to use!!!

Do you buy it at Binny's? I keep meaning to try this wine because I would probably like it.
YES! I think it's $8.99 a bottle which is a steal IMO.

I have read some good reviews about the Boathouse and thought it would make a good place to eat outdoors. I think your wedge salad looks delicious. :) I might have to add it to our ADRs for October.
We were pleasantly surprised!

Your plans so sound so exciting! I have been really enjoying this trip report and all your videos.

I finally caught up on your TR. I work in Kenosha, and this past week has been so stressful in the Emergency Department, caring for multiple victims with gun shot wounds, stab wounds, tear gas and pepper spray exposures, etc. The heat and humidity has not helped either. After a week of violence, fires, looting, and general destruction in our little city, >:(, I am so ready for our vacation!

I just saw the Tim Tracker video where he and Jen went to Wine Bar George for dinner. I think I remember reading that you enjoyed it there as well. I can't wait for our 60 day mark on September 11th to start signing up for ADR's again!

Also, I am so happy to hear about Gia's recovery! Sending virtual hugs! :grouphug:

That wedge salad at Boathouse looks awesome! I'm not really a seafood person, so I don't see myself going anytime soon. But Mike and I were just talking about WBG and I can't wait to bring him there when we go!

Your September plans sound fun! I'm so happy Gia is better and able to travel with you!

Thank you so much. That really means a lot!!!

I am so sorry. We've been watching the news footage and it's just horrible.

We LOVE WBG and have been going there since it first opened! We are heading back for brunch in a few weeks and I'm so excited! Definitely give it a try!

But Mike and I were just talking about WBG and I can't wait to bring him there when we go!
LOVE, love, love WBG! Yes, definitely make a reservation!

Blunch is a new one for me. :)

We you disappointed that you weren't hungry enough for your favorite breakfast? That's the hard part about breakfast. You never know how you will feel when you wake up.

Looked like a lovely breakfast at Grand Flo Cafe, and it's great that DHS wasn't crowded as you had feared! Trying to score a dinner reservation for Wine Bar George for our girls weekend 🍷

I absolutely love WBG! It's definitely in my top 3 DS restaurants!

I'm so bummed that the rubber duck drink was a bust!! BUT, I'm also pretty glad that I didn't miss out on much. I REALLY wanted to have one on our July trip, but DS was kind of insane and we just didn't feel super safe with the crowds the one night we were there, so I didn't get the chance to go get one!

I'm super jealous of your September plans!! I seriously need a countdown in my life, and being back to full time in-person (and teaching 1/3 of my students remotely at the same time!) is making it way worse!

Hi Jackie! I am so sorry. You must be exhausted...
I have no desire to go to DS in the evenings in September. With the parks closing even earlier I have a feeling it’s going to be insanely crowded...

Catching up and that meal at Boathouse looked great! I agree, nothing worse than a lobster roll with a wimpy amount of lobster meat. 👎 Also both of those salads look like exactly what I want when I order a wedge or caesar - yum!

It sounds like you'll have a great time in September - already looking forward to following along with that one too!
